Did Eric just come out on Fox News?

Wouldn't that be something.

As for Pancho's post with Alaska being a dead heat.  That place is amongst the most redneck, white trash places I have ever been.  It gives east Texas, Florida Man,  etc a run for it's money.  So for Biden to be virtually tied and Sullivan to be neck and neck, wow.

Small overall state population compared to Texas or Florida but it would be something to see Alaska flip.

0:20 mark.  "He can't do the prologue to the Constitution of the United States or the Declaration of Independence."

I wouldn't give a 76 year old under the hot TV lights any shit for screwing that up, but since he's literally sitting in judgement of someone else's mental faculties...I gotta call him out.

Neither one of those documents has a "Prologue", dipshit.  They have what's called a "Preamble."  Or "pre-ramble", which is what Melania called foreplay.

I don't expect a Trumper to understand this, but a "Prologue" is an introductory section that leads into, typically, a literary work or a multi-piece musical composition.

So basically literature and classical music.  Two things I know no Trumper would get within 6 miles of.

Oh and Rudy, it's not called DSM-5 cause there are 5 symptoms of dementia you dip shit.  It's the 5th revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

This is total whataboutism, but I cannot take Giuliani seriously when Rudy can't operate Google (his search related to dementia that he accidentally tweeted about) and his phone's security feature.

I’m not buying that. It doesn’t match any of the stage polls. If that’s true Trump gonna win in a walk (not really a walk- but he’s gonna win). If the national vote is 2 the. In Texas it’s 8, Iowa it’s 6, Ohio it’s 7, PA/wise/mi it’s tied. And we aren’t seeing any of that. Can’t imagine this is accurate. That would essentially invalidate every single other statewide poll.

Here's the article I referenced earlier: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-state-polls-can-tell-us-about-the-national-race/

The break thing is weird. I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever seen them go hockey style intermission in a debate before and I can’t think of that- but it also might just be something not in my radar. Do debates normally have breaks?  I guess if it is a toss to commercial I wouldn’t notice.
Inspection of opponents ears seems batshit crazy.

Debate requests are simple. If someone wants to change the rules, it's because they're scared. If Biden gives into one request, Trump's team will just come back with 5 more, all to designed as a gotcha moment when Biden's camp finally says no.

Biden needs a combination of speaking clearly to the home viewer and deflecting Trump's attempts at insulting him. But he shouldn't try to trade attacks on Trump. Hit Donald where it hurts: he's a failed businessman that has screwed over every partner and wife in his entire life.

Hunter Biden is a tough one for Joe. At some point, Joe is going to have to state that any wrong-doing by any of his family will be investigated by an independent counsel. Now Hunter taking millions from an Ukranian company isn't a crime unless it can be proven that Joe did something into exchange for that. Political family members seem to rake in income from many odd sources.

Personally I wouldn't care if a debate had a break in it. I don't think it makes someone weak because they want a breather or to even get advice from an aide. If anything it would make the debate better if they get feedback from their side in the middle. The goal of the debate shouldn't be to see who can go the longest without having to piss.

That's easy.  "Maybe Hunter can partner with Ivanka to help get overseas patents."

It fits the rightful (in my opinion) narrative that Joe is too old to do this job well.  But, his opponent is so loathsome and incompetent that it’s just not normal times so it doesn’t even matter to almost anyone voting.
I thought the same of McCain in 2008. From reading about Regans 2nd term he also fits that category pretty clearly.
I think it’s likely a non-issue as nobody really expects Joe to have the keys to the car.
I’m actually fairly happy Biden was the choice- I don’t see him as likely to do anything uniquely harmful during his term.

Speaking of senile... I think Rudy is mentally slipping and has clearly seen better days.
Bush and Obama were youngish men. I thought we’d finally passed the torch to a new generation. Then we get Trump, Hillary and Biden running for president these last two cycles and I’m like fuck- we can’t move beyond this generation or the olds who have lost 3 steps cognitively?

Stop with the gaslighting. Joe hasn't shown any reason that he can't be president. What does it take? Trump spends the entire day in executive contemplation. Different people have different styles. Being President isn't necessarily about working 100 hours weeks. In fact if they do work 100 hour weeks, they're doing it wrong.

Absolutely this.  Listening to Rudy stammering through his diagnosis of Biden, I was struggling to decipher which things he was accusing Biden of and which he was suffering from himself (" ... prologue to tha, to tha Con ... to uhh ... to tha Constitution ...").  The lack of self-awareness on Fox News is always stunning to me.

I’m not gaslighting. It’s not a job that an 80 year old should do. It’s also not a job an incompetent sociopath should do (trump).
I can’t believe these are the best two people for the job. I have a 70 year old dad and a 73 year old father in law. They just aren’t sharp. It’s literally something that happens to everyone. It makes sense that we have a requirement of at least 35 years old bc we wanted wisdom and life experience. It would have been awesome if they set an upper limit too. Such is life.

Yep. I liked Britt Hume and thought his round table was great. Chris Wallace is good. Brett Baer is really solid imo. Everything else on that channel is basically trash.

An interesting fact if Biden wins.

he would be the only silent generation president ever.

No one knows what gaslighting is, it’s just the trendy political term du jour. 4 years ago it was kompromat. Before that it was gravitas.

Fortunately these things eventually run their course when the next one shows up.

Yeah- if saying an 80 year old is probably too old to do the most difficult job in the world is gaslighting then that word has literally no meaning.

I also think we should set an upper limit on voting for the same reason.

Not hardly. I’m literally saying there is no way you’re correctly using the word. I’m not saying I’m a victim I’m saying you are wrong, your opinion is wrong, and you are using the word wrong. That clear it up?

It's a non-issue.  Two old fucks are running and one of them will be president.  I want the one who can ride a bike, could probably walk down a ramp without assistance, and who I won't worry about withdrawing from NATO and nuking Germany because Angela Merkel hurt his feelings to be president.

And that’s fair!

Ha. Sorry granny- you are too old to vote.
my grandma is 98 years old. She has zero ability to ascertain truthfulness of anything she sees on Facebook. She used to send forwards via email until 3 or 4 years ago. It was brutal.

No I was using gaslighting Correctly. You’re trying to state again and again that Biden has dementia in a hope to get people to believe it.

We don't allow children to vote. I don't see the difference. And, actually, at least children have some personal interest in the future of the country. A 98 old does not. I'd probably set the cut off at 75.

I was giving more thought to this new "Biden is on drugs" line of attack, because it's just so ridiculous and out there, I'm having a hard time processing it. Then it sorta hit me..

This time in 2016 the world was talking about Hillary's emails, that weird "stroke" thing she supposedly had, the shady uranium deal, "basket of deplorables" and her attacking Bill Clinton's victims. Throw in Comey's report in a couple of weeks, and the entire home stretch turned into an election about Hillary. He was getting traction keeping the spotlight and keeping his Trumpian attacks on her.

He can't find any traction at all with Biden in that regard. Nothing he's throwing at him is sticking. Partly because he, like Trump, is a charismatic old white man, and partly because Biden is just pretty relatable and clean. He knows that he needs to make the next month about Biden and not him, but no matter what he tries it doesn't work. The spotlight remains on him and it is bright and glaring. The longer it stays on him the more fucked he is. He's doing the only thing a carnival barker knows how to do once his old tricks have worn thin. Yell louder and be more ridiculous.

The only strategy Trump knows how to use in conflict is escalation. So here we are. Hunter Biden, "sleepy Joe", the claim that he's a puppet for AOC and her socialists. None of those punches are getting home. So he's doing the only thing he knows how to do... escalating and being more ridiculous and over-the-top with the "Biden is on drugs!!" thing. Anything to get the attention off of him. Because the bright hot light of the spotlight is melting him, both figuratively and literally.

and the flaws Joe has, Don has even more of

No I’m not. I’m saying he’s too old to do the job well. And his actions show that’s he’s lost multiple cognitive steps as all old people do. Gaslighting would be you trying to tel me I didn’t see Biden go Ron Burgandy on a teleprompter, or that I didn’t see him look confused in many different interviews. Or lose his train of thought mid sentence, or get names and numbers spectacularly wrong like many old people do.
In a sane world this would be a disqualifier. Donald trump, President, has demonstrated the world isn’t sane.
So, literally Joe’s only debate requirement, which is the only thing that can keep him from the presidency at this point in time, is to not come out and look totally and completely Incoherent  and senile. This is the lowest bar any presidential candidate had ever had in attempting to win the White House. I think it’s 95% likely he easily sails over that bar.
