But old guard dem leadership is clearly working....
You're making the point... But missing the point allot AOC. She would never win in Florida or Texas. Her policies don't match the predominant Cuban or Mexican ideologies - strongly anti-socialist due to their history of corruption at home.

So they lean R.

Cubans maybe. Other Latino groups are solidly Democrat.

Tell that to the Rio Grand Valley.  Seriously, what the duck happened down there?  They lost ground from 2016.

Trump’s fascist policies seem to somehow resonate with the Latino community.

in addition, his outright racism towards them is the tough love that really earns votes.

It’s extremely weird.

latinos who are born in America have a strange fascination with “ pulling up the ladder”. They’re hostile to illegals and don’t want them here. They probably nod their head in agreement when trumps calls them bad hombres. Supposedly, Latin men identify with his “masculinity” or his “machismo”. Trump doesn’t strike me as an alpha male, but I guess he does to other people.

Latinos are also very hard workers. They love to work. They probably believe trumps rhetoric that Democrats are 100% to blame for shut downs and everything wrong in their lives. Why the fuck people would think the democrats are to blame for this I don’t know?

It seems like nobody gives a shit that republicans blatantly care about party over country, if anything the American people admire and shrug off the GOP’s greed while they hope for minuscule tax cuts. I’ve never been excited about the thought of tax cuts when people who live in southlake or highland park will be receiving a much bigger break than someone like me.

This is so wrong it hurts. Economics. Immigrants are most impacted by shut downs. They need the money.

So they think they should vote for a president who makes fun of people who wears masks? Who ignores science? Climate change?

blamimg Democrats for the shut downs is idiotic and I think a lot of people based their votes on that.

Went to sleep around 1, what did I miss the last 4 hours?

Looks like NV, WI, and MI still too close to call?

NV is pretty much done with just mail in ballots left. WI is a bit more tenuous with just the Green Bay area left. People are confident in MI because of outstanding ballots in Clark county.

The Democrats need to either:

1. Become more federalist and let/seek out candidates in purple and red states that are more representative of the voters in those states, even if they fail some ideological purity tests.  More Joe Manchins that actually win elections and less people in the South and Midwest that have to follow all the rules of California and New York politics.

or

2. Convince a shitload of people in So Cal and New York City to relocate to swing states for the good of the movement.  Because winning those states by millions of votes while losing 10 others by 50,000 is killing them in the Senate and Electoral College.

I don’t think either is likely.

We ran the equivalent of Joe Manchin for president and it doesn’t seem to have helped much except in the industrial Midwest.

I still don’t get it.  How did Trump actually gain support compared to 2016? His approval numbers have never been particularly impressive.

did he blame the democrats 10000000000 times for everything literally so much that people actually believed him? Did Nancy Pelosi get blamed for not reaching a deal on stimulus despite the GOP controlling 2 other branches of government? Do people really think Biden is a socialist

im just throwing random thoughts out there because I don’t get it.  Trump is an idiot, a moron, and he doesn’t even like this job. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

It makes perfect sense. You are looking at this from the standpoint of someone who is educated. It is literally impossible for you to get in the mindset of the Trump voter unless you've been having dialogue with them. If you have you know it's pretty simple. Trump lies and they believe him. Most people don't know anything about politics. They know a couple bullet points, and that's about all. So you can flat out lie and they will believe you.

Hopefully Detroit is still out.

There's a substantial amount of Wayne County still to report (~40% last I saw). Plus mail-in vote in Oakland and Macomb, which should both go for Biden. He's sitting fairly pretty in MI right now, just need to be patient.

In WI, just waiting on the Green Bay votes to come in. Once they do, you'll have a great idea of where the final margin will be. Kenosha still looks to have about 10K D votes to go based on 2016 margins, as well. There's basically nothing left anywhere else. According to the AP, there's 54 precincts outstanding out of nearly 3700. 47 of them are in Brown County (Green Bay), and 5 are in Kenosha.
