Election day and later early voting tended toward Trump.

Basically the earlier the vote was made the more likely it was to be for Biden.

FWIW - the Biden campaign says that these are mostly ballots that were dropped off the day of voting - and that they'll be more Biden friendly because the Biden campaign encouraged Dems to stop mailing and to drop off because of postal issues.

His voice and the incomprehensible guy at the big board make CNN my second channel.

John King. I heard a good assessment of him this morning on The Ticket. He's extremely smart and has all this information about counties (doesn't matter which state) and their voting make up. He's like Rainman and has to talk so fast to get all the information out.

Trump wants to stop the count in states he's winning and keep counting in states he's losing.

Makes sense to me.

Instead of The Simpsons writers being prescient, it's writers for Veep that nailed this scenario.

I think thats the concern in AZ.  Even though they are mail-in ballots, a good chunk of them were dropped on election day, not early.

sauce

So that 50+ math most people have been applying to mail-in ballots may not work there.

The Biden campaign thinks a larger percentage of those drop offs was for Biden than the last few days of the mail in votes were, because Dems were telling all their voters not to trust USPS and to drop their ballots off instead.

Thats my feeling as well.
AZ, NV, and GA will all be close but Biden is slightly favored in all three.

If I wasn’t scared of being hopeful this is what I think happens. But I refuse to get my hopes up.

Claire Malone phrased that better than most. She used a variation of the 'truth sandwich' that Jay Rosen suggests. Insert the incorrect statement in the middle, framed by the truth or correction. She didn't quite get it at the start of her paragraph, but close. I wish journalists had been doing this all along, but many of them do not. It's critical right now with tempers high and the scrutiny high as well.

There are countless examples, but I find this one most illustrative. There's a video link of Trump lying his ass off, the specifics of the lie are detailed in the article, and he's lying to our troops. who he claims to cherish so much. There was no reason he had to lie, and he has to know the lie would be exposed as its all a matter of public record and the troops would notice not getting a 10% raise. Yet he did it anyway, because it made him look good at the time, and he could trash Obama's administration for not allowing pay raises (again a lie). Its evidence that he lies so freely, about matters big and small, its just second nature to him. I don't spend a lot of time around trumpkins but the few times I have presented this article to them, they invariably stumble around for a short while before declaring all politicians lie. The dude is a pathological liar. Its all he knows.

It's not even possible for me to comprehend how a person could think he doesn't lie. The fake news angle has worked brilliantly for him. Anything that discredits what he says is immediately dismissed.

Yes.  Let's.  Because if we did that then Biden "won," you fucking moron.

People keep saying this, but it’s wrong. He wants the counting to stop because a) the spread is getting worse for him with each release, b) he will be taking each of these to court, and c) the higher the spread, the harder it is for his suits to not just be outright dismissed.

There’s also the added benefit that if votes sit around uncounted for a couple weeks, somebody is going to try to make them disappear

It's a good plan. Get as many of your supporters as possible to vote in person, then count those votes first, then stop counting and throw out the rest.

The networks must be waiting for Biden to actually get the lead to project the PA win because based on how they typicall announce other states they would have already done so.

Yes because Trump and his band of idiots will throw a fit if it gets called for Biden before he's ahead.

Regardless what happens from here, the Magats are going to believe the election is rigged and Biden is an illegitimate president. Trump will probably continue to stoke the flames. We're looking at a high chance of political violence.

You just multiply the margins by outstanding votes to get the expected pick up right? Assuming the remaining ballots track the previous margin, though it's possible it would be a bit better becuase the margins include election day votes that trend Trump.

It's a better alternative to Trump being in power.

They can die for the electoral college b/c Biden will easily have over 50% of the popular vote.

That was going to happen regardless of Biden's EC number.  Trump has been laying the groundwork for months.

Yeah--not thrilled to see that DeKalb is out of ballots to count.

Dekalb finished last night. That is how Biden closed the gap. Trends still point Biden, but going to be razor thin one way or the other.

These ballots are even bluer than those margins.

Yeah, it reminds of me "Casino"..........Nicky's gambling strategy worked well for him.  It wasn't very scientific, but it worked.  If he won, he'd get his money.  If he lost, he'd get his money.

Was about to post this. That’s a big chunk of (seemingly) blue votes unless the congressional seats are also at risk or voters are splitting their ballots

Fulton - 73% Biden

Gwinnett - 58% Biden

Forsyth - 67% Trump

Harris - 77% Trump

Laurens - 64% Trump

Putnam - 71% Trump

The mail in ballots will skew far more towards Biden than the current county split.

So which Governors are the MAGA-ts going to try and kidnap this week?

Sucks to say, but I think a few Secretaries of State are probably going to be targeted this week.  I wish I was kidding.  Thankfully most MAGA folks are too stupid to understand how voting is certified in their states, but one of them is gonna get wise on Google and figure out they should find a Democrat Secretary of State in AZ, GA, PA, or NV and threaten their family.  I guarantee with 90% certainty that this will happen.  The FBI has already sent out protection details.  This is what their False Messiah inspires.

Based on them being mail-in, you can add 15% to the blue counties and 5-10% for the red. That is how it has played out in other counties around the nation.

How many votes is Biden behind in Georgia? I only see him net 10K out of those counties splits listed.

edit: I was only going by current county splits. If these are absentee or whatever, that could skew larger towards Biden

I know he was getting 77% in the previous  clip

He knows that states make their own rules about that kinda stuff.  Despite the USPS being a federal agency...it does not control state election processes.

Basic data (no way to know how good all of this is, just some assumptions) Some of this might be wrong so quick the data but maybe close to right??

17,157 votes left Chatham - Biden leaning 58/41 (based on current data, might skew with mails, etc.)

11,200 Fulton - 73/26

7,400 Clayton - 85/14

7,338 Gwinnett - 58/40

4,713 Forsyth - 67/32

3,641 Harris - 77/22 Trump

1,797 Laurens - 64/35 Trump

1,552 Putnam 71/29 Trump

1,202 Sumter - 52/47 Biden

700 Cobb - 56/42 Biden

These total up to about 56,300, very close to the 61k reported

I'd argue this was going to happen with either party winning the election. General distrust in Trump, general distrust with media, complete distrust in our voting system and how we collect/count votes.
