Propaganda until a vaccine is actually available.

I’d like to point out that even if an effective vaccine is developed, how does anyone believe that *this administration* will capably aid in making it widely available to the public any time soon? Hospitals are re-using PPE (again), we still don’t have reliable or rapid diagnostic testing, contact tracing is a joke, etc etc etc. But somehow all of America will be able to get the COVID shot in short order. Many trumpkins will refuse to take a vaccine. Why risk it for something that’s a hoax anyway?

Ima not joking.

It works on cult members.

Common features of cults:

1. A charismatic leader, who increasingly becomes an object of worship as the general principles that may have originally sustained the group lose power. That is a living leader, who has no meaningful accountability and becomes the single most defining element of the group and its source of power and authority.

2. A process [of indoctrination or education is in use that can be seen as] coercive persuasion or thought reform [commonly called "brainwashing"].

The culmination of this process can be seen by members of the group often doing things that are not in their own best interest, but consistently in the best interest of the group and its leader.

3. Economic, sexual, and other exploitation of group members by the leader and the ruling coterie.

Warning signs that a group is a cult:

• Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability.

• No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry.

• No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget or expenses, such as an independently audited financial statement.

• Unreasonable fear about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions.

• There is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil.

• Former members often relate the same stories of abuse and reflect a similar pattern of grievances.

• There are records, books, news articles, or broadcast reports that document the abuses of the group/leader.

• Followers feel they can never be "good enough".

• The group/leader is always right.

• The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.

In fairness, how the fuck would you debate someone who says shit like:

“We have great agreements where when Biden and Obama used to bring killers out, they would say don’t bring them back to our country, we don’t want them. Well, we have to, we don’t want them. They wouldn’t take them. Now with us, they take them. Someday, I’ll tell you why. Someday, I’ll tell you why. But they take them and they take them very gladly. They used to bring them out and they wouldn’t even let the airplanes land if they brought them back by airplanes. They wouldn’t let the buses into their country. They said we don’t want them. Said no, but they entered our country illegally and they’re murderers, they’re killers in some cases.”

i am not a religious man, nor am i a republican.

but i really hope these religious republicans are spreading the word like only religious republicans can.

Some of my coworkers are religious republicans and they abhor Trump, and can't wait for him to leave office. Whether they'll vote for him in November is a different issue, but they want him gone nonetheless.

OTOH, there is the contingent of single-issue voters. I'm FB friends with an old pastor. He posted a Trump bumper sticker and the deplorables came rabble rabbling. They honestly think Trump is pro-life, protecting unborn babies, but conveniently forgetting the kids gunned down at Sandy Hook, conveniently forgetting that his actions are what has caused 138K+ deaths). They equate Democrats with being pro-abortion and "literally killing babies" (direct quote).

I'm religious. I would have voted for McCain and Romney if I had been eligible to vote. I voted 3rd party in 2016. This time I will vote against every GOP candidate because they all proved themselves to be Trump stooges.

Trump doesn't like dogs. And I'm pretty sure that the feeling is mutual.
Mitt strapping his dog to the roof didn't get him any votes.
Be nice to critters, old people, and children. Even W was able to pull that off.

He doesn't drink and doesn't like dogs. Those have always been my top two answers to the question of "what character traits instantly make you distrust someone?" question.

I’m not defending Trump against being a shit head. I don’t like the guy. But I also don’t like people criticizing mother people for shit they had nothing to do with.
Sandy Hook was in what- 2012?
people act like he’s the face of evil in some unique way for “kids in cages at the border”. Obama built the cages. And that picture that got everyone all fired up and graced the front page of time magazine was taken in 2014.
bow, I think his immigration policy is extremely stupid and counter productive, but the border shit been going on for a long time and you can’t use that as some sort of evidence that he’s uniquely malicious when he didn’t start the fucking thing (doesn’t make the program good, right or something worth doing- just doesn’t make Trump singular in his evil)

Same shit with the Trumps a rube look how he fed the fishes duh hurrr Hurr.

When you act like one person is the boogie man then that conveniently allows you to ignore real problems or issues in the underlying structure by papering over shit with a hand wave and an “oh don’t worry- when we get rid of this dude the milk and honey will flow”. No. That’s not it. He’s a symbol of a lot wrong but he didn’t break the system itself, he’s a result of it a cause of this divisiveness and ugliness in our country and amongst ourselves that makes us worse in everything we do by exacerbating existing fixtures. Mouth he didn’t invent those fissures and electing Joe Biden isn’t going to magically make them go away.
mother than, I guess the media will go back to protector of the status quo and lap dog instead of bat shit crazy. And that will ease the pressure and temperature some on our society.
but it won’t do away with the cracks we have in our civilization.

are they really sending that stuff to trump supporters?

id unsubscribe and leave that cult so fast if I was talked to like that.

I’m picturing all the working class individuals that broke for Trump in 2016 who signed up for email and fundraising lists for the first time in their lives, then getting that bullshit auto text and hitting unsubscribe or texting STOP almost immediately. This is the kind of message that can bury his grassroots more than his gaffes that take shots at numerous groups of people. This was a message directed AT them, on their cell number, not someone else.

I know people that are pissed at Biden because they saw his ad before every YouTube video for a while.  People's priorities are completely ridiculous today, so I agree that the annoying text message probably is more damaging to his standing with GOP leaners at this point than, you know, the gross incompetence that has led to hundreds of thousands of deaths and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.  We can deal with that, but FUCK YOU for texting me spam!

YouTube has ads.

people need to get the fuck over it or prepare for some kind of subscription based model.

I’m calling my damn shot.

Biden and the dems are winning  Florida this year.

admittedly, I was wrong in 2018. I thought Gillum was going to win and help us turn that state blue. The coronavirus is giving Florida hell right now and I just don’t think the old folks in Florida are going to blindly vote for the GOP this year. I think the President and GOP Florida Governor will suffer some backlash for their poor handling of the pandemic.

“Socialism” is bad branding for Democrats and doomed Gillum. Great job BernieBros!

I blame this mostly on Bernie for declaring himself a proud socialist for 50 years and during the Cold War, to be provocative.  Both parties and most Americans love them some big government socialism when it works for their interests but they were smart enough to understand the stigma that comes with the socialist label.

The Atlantic’s Adam Serwer astutely put it, “The notion of a Biden presidency simply does not provoke the visceral rage that Clinton and Obama did — not in Trump, and not in his supporters.” So long as Biden’s campaign does not evoke such negativity, Trump will likely be the one on the short end of the 2020 enthusiasm gap.

yeah cult members are enthusiastic about dear leader. And we're even more enthusiastic to hammer him and all the Rs flatter than an armadillo on the highway

This is the kind of “sales” tactic that timeshare pitches use — peer pressure + artificially short timelines. So basically the Trump campaign is like buying 2 weeks per year in Del Boca Vista, except the Trump name is on it, so you know it costs more than it should and the quality is shit.  Oh, and you’ll have to pay to get out of it.

That girl thinks she's hot?  Or was that irony?  Because she looks like her parents were Abe Vigoda and a Horse.

All she’s doing is making fun of hot girls that are now woke socialists on twitter. It’s too early for the Hot or Not locker room posts.
