No one perturbed that the GA secretary of state explicitly said that he's not pleased with the outcome of the presidential vote??
Even if he is committed to not fucking with the vote count, that's a hugely bullshit thing to say to the world, JFC

He’s a Republican, his preferred candidate lost. His statement isn’t outrageous.

It’s an elected position. He won as a Republican. I would be more disturbed if he didn’t acknowledge his bias. And it provides context for the importance to having loyalty to the system over loyalty to a political preference.

And my guess is not looking like he sucks at his job in front of the whole world probably comes before loyalty to Trump. The "I'd be agitated too if I was in a runoff" is about as close as you'll get to a "fuck you" within the same party. He'll want any recount to turn out completely insignificant just as much as we do.

This is what has me pissed: at some point, when Trump is running out of bullets in his legal gun, and whatever recounts have been completed, America needs an authoritative figure to say it's over, and that Trump needs to stop embarrassing himself at the expense of this country's foundations. Not that he'll listen, but it needs to be said nonetheless for all to hear. But there's no one fucking left. Biden or another prominent Democrat doing it obviously wouldn't help. The guy appointed to election fraud just quit. Mitt Romney doesn't move the needle. Can the Supreme Court make statements if it never gets to them?

Speaking of feeling numbers, this seems like a good time to break out this old classic:
https://money.cnn.com/2011/04/21/news/companies/donald_trump/index.htm
Throughout the deposition, Trump sparred with O'Brien's lawyer, Andrew Ceresney, over how the real estate tycoon determined what he was worth.
Trump: My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with the markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try.
Ceresney: Let me just understand that a little. You said your net worth goes up and down based upon your own feelings?
Trump: Yes, even my own feelings, as to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day ...
Ceresney: When you publicly state a net worth number, what do you base that number on?
Trump: I would say it's my general attitude at the time that the question may be asked. And as I say, it varies.
But the deposition shows Trump's valuation of his properties can be at odds with others' views.
"Donald owns 40 Wall Street, which he spent about $35 million to buy and refurbish in 1996," lawyer Ceresney read from O'Brien's book. "The building has about $145 million in debt attached to it, and New York City assessors value it at $90 million. Donald values it at $400 million."
Trump reacts to the passage by saying: "Anybody would understand that a city assessment is 15 and 20 percent the value of a building."
When questioned about the return on his investment from several golf courses, Trump said he does his own math.
See Trump's golf course in Westchester
Ceresney: Have you ever done a projection as to how much you anticipate you will profit on these courses over time in light of the contributions that you're making in cash?
Trump: Yes, I've done mental projections.
Ceresney: Mental projections?
Trump: Yes.
Ceresney: These are projections that you've done in your head?
Trump: Yes.

Shit, I’d forgotten about that episode. It’s right there, plain as day nine years ago. And we elected him anyway.

Lol

But bringing in the CEO of GoldmanSachs the head the treasury dept. was just good biznes?

oh, man.

The GOP just needs to stay quiet for a few months, then come back and offer some consistent, thoughtful counterpoints to shit Ds want to do, however, it just seems some people want to throw a tantrum.

they had a great turn out. Get someone who can articulate a prosperous conservative future that encompasses all Americans and they would have incredible support.

What the fuck does this even mean?  Is that even real?

I don't follow Eric on twitter, but it appears...on the face of it...that his older brother borrowed his jacket on a brisk November 9th evening, and returned it to Eric this morning.  Whereupon Eric discovered a baggie in the breast pocket, snorted its contents, and took immediately to social media to broadcast his father's wishes.

$50 says Eric's next tweet is something about "What times does the Philly Four Seasons' bar open?  Today is gonna be amazing.  I'm skipping lunch!"

So “illegal votes” is the new birtherism right? When black people take power we have to invalidate it. Fabricate lies with the evidence always coming in a couple weeks. Only difference is that the entire Republican Party, elected and in the country, is going along with it.

It's the old birtherism.

Y’all realize that we’re watching an attempted authoritarian take-over of the United States, right? As in, it’s not a metaphor or an exaggeration. It’s literal. Donald Trump is attempting to nullify the results of an election and maintain his power despite losing through the constitutional process. It’s banana republic shit playing out in the United fucking States of America.

Brisket warned y’all about this. So did Hugo and others. Those warnings were often viewed as histrionic. They were not. Trump is literally a tyrant and we are literally in a constitutional crisis.

The GOP slowly cranked up the heat for four years and most of us didn’t notice how hot it was getting. Now we’re boiling.

And, despite all the GOP sycophants and hand-picked officials, he's going to get nowhere with it because he has no case. It's all for show, embarrassing and harmful as it is.

This. Dont think many people are surprised that these dumbasses are attempting it, but I'd be surprised if they got any traction.

Literally all their attempts are getting thrown out except the one about distancing for observers.

They can't win these cases.  They just want to sow enough doubt and misinformation that states don't certify their votes, and the House decides the "election."  We're watching an attempted coup in real time.

Whether they'll be successful is another story, but either way they're taking a sledgehammer to our democracy.

You’re grossly over exaggerating this. It’s a lame attempt to sow doubt and it’s all getting thrown out pretty much immediately. They will be certified dec 14 regardless of what’s happening now. Once they are certified then they can ask for recounts where recounts are necessary.

relax everyone. This dude is just doing what he always does and that’s try and litigate his way in and out of things. Sadly democracy is something he won’t be able to do that with.

There is also the PA three day extension votes case. PA was already segregating the votes and not counting them. EVEN IF they get those segregated extension votes thrown out (which favor Biden), BIDEN ALREADY HAS MORE VOTES. It's beyond stupid at this point.

Then think about this. Even if there is a coup in PA, and they put guns to electors heads.

BIDEN STILL WINS because of Arizona, Nevada

He doesn't even need Georgia (which he also fucking won)

Yep. We have court systems to litigate cases and controversies. This will get smacked down like everything he does in court (or against all available apparent optics right now the Trumpsters will provide the receipts for what they are alleging) and we will have sign off that Biden won the election and that America’s institutions have held. Either one of those two things happen or I will join brisket in lobbing Molotov cocktails.
