I seent 'em!

Tonight!

In 78676!

Seems early, but this is great.  Nothing better than sitting outside on a warm dark night, drinking beer and watching the fireflies.

Fireflies?

Puh-leeze... "lightning bugs."

(they come in cycles, we're in an up cycle right now but alas, they'll probably decrease in the next few years)

Met a girl one summer years ago while camping at Navarro Mills, the lightning bugs were abundant and she was mind blown by them. I don't recall where exactly she was from but she had never seen them before. She said that she'd read of them but kinda thought they were some mythical thing or something people just joked about like snipe hunting.

I don't know what happened, but we seriously have more of these little buggers in my yard right now than I've ever seen anywhere in my life.

I went outside for a couple of minutes to watch, and had several of them land on me.

I've seen exactly two (2) lightning bugs here in Brushy Creek (78717) in 23 years.

Living in South St. Louis during the mid 1950s we had jillions of them around.

There are thousands across the street from our house in a nature preserve.  It’s something we look forward to every year.

I saw a bunch in New Braunfels the other night. They don't ever seem to make it here down 46 West only 20 minutes away.
