This is getting ridiculous. People in Houston are still acting like this thing is heading straight for Galveston Bay. The replies to every SpaceCity or Jeff LIndner tweet are along the lines of "I don't think it's gonna turn, getting real worried here in (insert Houston suburb.)"

Look at this gif. For the last 90+ minutes, the eye has been heading NNW at something resembling a 345 degree bearing. It's going exactly where they said.

If it wasn't for the pandemic, I'd buy you a Brother in Law and a beer at Stanley's.  Alas, I'm drinking at home and eating tamales.

/honestly, if you want to pick it up, I'll call it in for curbside. :)

Wish I had seen this before I ate dinner! Thanks man and next time, for sure!

Solid.

Have you tried their new Southern Wheat?

Pretty damn good.

Ive been dominating the variety packs of Real Ale and Karbach from Costco all summer.

Both those breweries do damn good work.

The Weather Channel just overlayed the storm surge predictions on a Google Map of Lake Charles.  The National Weather Service Office is in an area that could get 9 feet of storm surge, one of the lowest parts of town.  Great planning, guys.  I wonder what corrupt politician the building is named after?

Beaumont news was saying that Port Arthur had fewer evacuate than predicted. That's...not good.

Port Arthur, he does what he pleases.

Anyone know the levee heights?  Last map I saw said 10-15' surge expected now (It's on the west side of the path, though may still get pounded by the eye wall.)

Ike nearly topped it as I recall.

My dad says KFDM (channel 6 in Beaumont, not the band) is predicting higher winds for the area than Rita.

Yeah, between Indianola and 1900 hurricanes, im still not sure why anyone would buy a beach house in Texas
Oh that easy to answer. You pay the insurance and let the whole industry absorb the losses.

My dad lost his beachfront house to Ike.

Is there a good site to find storm chaser live streams?  A quick google search turned up livestormchasing.com and a bunch of sites that seem broken or have no real streams going .

Gonna go ahead and assume masks just aren't that important as well to the fine residents of Cameron Parish.

I don't think masks are going to help them much tonight. Nice for you to think this though.

When I played on my 4A high school's sophomore basketball team, we'd sometimes play against nearby 1A varsities.  Johnson's Bayou in Cameron Parish was one of them.  They allowed smoking in their gym during high school basketball games.  This was in the '90s.

Funny thing is he did a vid from one today, to get the fucks bugs off his car.

I saw that. He was also at a gas pump that was dispensing at a tenth-of-a-cent-per-second rate.

He's a national treasure.
