^ Joplin, Hendrix, Marley.

I think they had so much greatness left in them.

That’s where I was but then subbed Elvis for Marley.

Love me some Elvis.

we could really use John Lennon right about now on this planet.

No one is choosing MJ so he can come back and molest kids.  He's right where he needs to be at the moment.

Petty is probably my favorite, but I feel like he had his time.  Same for Ray, Prince, Bowie, Whitney and Cash.

Morrison isn't worthy of this group.  Elvis had nothing left in the tank.

That leaves Cobain, Mercury, Marley, Janis, Jimi, Lennon and Tupac.

I probably go with Cobain, Lennon and Tupac.

Elvis died at 42. If he could have cleaned up he had plenty left in the tank.

Big if though I guess.

Elvis literally left it in the tank when he went.

Elvis was way past peak Elvis when he sharted himself to death.

I see the great losses as artists like Cobain, Elliott Smith, Jim Croce, Janis, etc.  People who hadn't come close to peaking.

I would have loved to have heard the next half dozen Jim Croce records.  Can you fucking imagine?  He would have outshined Paul Simon by a country mile.
