Obama’s ridicule of Trump at the Correspondent’s Dinner was a major reason we’re in this surreal shitshow now, so I hope the adults in the WH keep the baby from throwing a tantrum that may have real consequences.

Whuh?

And that's the stupidest thing I have read this year....  Thanks O'Bama

All year? And it’s almost October, so that’s pretty good.

I’m just referring to the theory that Trump’s humiliation at the 2011 dinner fueled his presidential run, therefore he doesn’t take being slighted lightly. Yes, there have been many steps in between to get us to now.

Yeah, Trump hasn't been running for President since the 90's. It was all on Obama.

Sigh.

We’re the biggest joke on the planet.

And 40% of our countrymen think that shooting ourselves in the dock repeatedly is “winning.”

We are too stupid to continue as a country.

Many years ago a friend got drunk at the lake and shot the dock.  He wasn’t invited back.

He was restrained and still got laughed at.

Yep. He wasn’t even peak trump idiocy. Just normal trump idiocy. Got laughed at, handled it ok, and still did a good job acting like he didn’t care, (but he did).

He’s a Russian asset, willingly or not, hell bent on weakening this country as much as possible before he’s ultimately removed one way or the other.

Why does everything have to be the greatest, best, most, worst?

Because he is a developer. That means his primary purpose in life is to get people to invest in his project. People don’t want to invest in the second most whatever in the world. That’s they way he’s talked, and thought, for decades. Every time someone says we need to run this country like a business, I want to kick them in the balls.

I dunno; I think I'd like to let Warren Buffet take a shot at it.  He might be a shitty politician, but at least he wouldn't be a total fucking slapdick.

I dunno, the second and third responsibilities of a sitting POTUS are Chief Executive and Chief Administrator.  POTUS is there to run the Executive Branch and serve as ceremonial head of State when duty calls.  Of course, Commander-in-Chief is the other big one, but that's not really a day-to day thing; mostly left up to the Intelligence Community and DOD these days.  Anyway, the position was designed by Article 2 to just be the guy delegating to get shit done in one branch, like a CEO basically.  The notion that the president could administer like a business head isn't really that far-fetched.  Now running all 3 branches, and in essence every facet of our Federal Government, as a business---yes, that's fucking insane.  But having division chiefs (Cabinet Secretaries, Directors, et. al.) of all the major departments and agencies with specialist managers/assistants under them, all kicking up to one CEO for reporting purposes.  That one branch model being run by a Chief Executive and Chief Administrator...that's not that weird an idea.  It's just that this CEO can wage global thermonuclear war and right now, Warren Buffet can't.  But I'm sure B-H is working on it...

It's been a crazy, busy day so I'm just getting caught up with the day's news. So the main topic of his speech was about America not giving a damn about anyone else in the world and making decisions with only the US in mind. Later on he scolds other countries about raising oil prices and only thinking about themselves. Instead they should lower prices to help us out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the definition of hypocrisy? Just asking questions.

Donald Trump is the embodiment of every negative stereotype about the ugly American held by the other inhabitants of our planet. It's amazing. He's like a cartoon character.

Yes, this was only one of the most absurd aspects of the speech.

Him bragging about his huge tariffs helping the U.S. economy was another head scratcher considering it’s just a tax on US consumers.

Unlike Trump, Buffet is far too intelligent to even consider such a move.  From what I've read, I suspect Warren is far more introspective of his own strengths and weaknesses to know what seems feasible or achievable and what would not.  In this respect he's practically the anti-Trump.  So, sign me up.

Combined with a reality TV personality.

But yeah, he’s still rocking the developer persona.

When he says he’s got the best track record as President on some issue, he’s not boasting, he’s trying to convince his followers that it’s true.

Remember back in 2010 when Ivanka and Don Jr. were being investigated for fraud because they were exaggerating the sales of units in the Trumo SoHo building in order to lure other customers? That's the family business model. No matter how much you suck, tell people how great you are. Prey on the suckers.

Then, of course, Don Sr's lawyer Mark Kasowitz made a $25,000 donation to the DA's reelection campaign and *poof* the investigation went away.

The UN laugh moment overshadows just how terrible the rest of that speech was.

I cannot overstate the awfulness of Trump’s diatribe.

Yet again, I found myself embarrassed to be an American.

You mean like this:

Quote

"America is governed by America. We reject the idea of globalism and we accept the doctrine of patriotism."

And then he bitched at every other country for not lowering oil prices to benefit America and being selfish.

Precisely.

The wording of “patriotism” in place of “nationalism” was borderline offensive.

Moreover, on Venezuela, he talked about their failure of socialism.  Then he said they should reject socialism and embrace democracy as if the two are mutually exclusive.  It was an intellectually ignorant speech filled with nonsense all around.

And the most treacherous part of the speech was not one fucking word calling out Putin and Russia.
