This is the mentality that some people have. Of course, for all we know, Jerimiah doesn't believe any of these things, but is just using this persona to make money. Which makes it worse.

The only thing Trump has been anointed by is Russian hooker piss.

That's what Chuck posted in the graphic of Meet the Press.  It was double the next issue.  They done f'd up.

Their biggest mistake was not being able to pass a replacement.

Now they have to come up with something to compete politically with the Democrats' universal healthcare plans. The good thing about having so many Democrats running for president will be hashing out these plans. I can't wait to see what the Democratic nominee ends up running on. One thing is for sure, it will include a public option at the very minimum. Hopefully, it will be a truly universal national healthcare plan.

Pelosi should just tell Dotard they want to look at his plan and build from there.  Dems already had a plan that was implemented and was taken apart.  Now, it's the other side's turn to produce one or bear the blowback.

The problem is that Obamacare was the Republican plan.

Like the health care system in Australia. You know, the one Trump told the Aussie prime minister was a better system than ours.

This is one of the best articles I have ever read. It will scare the shit out of you.

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/12/24/how-trump-made-war-on-angela-merkel-and-europe

What does Putin want more than anything? The dissolution of the Western Alliance. Trump is doing everything he can to destroy that alliance and, unfortunately, he's succeeding.    Here's my simple theory as to why Trump hates Merkel:  she's unattractive, and he doesn't want to fuck her.  He's a misogynistic asshole who has no use for women other than as ornaments for himself and his ego.

Short version: Trump is a tool that Putin is using as a weapon to attack and weaken Western Europe.  Trump is happily (and ignorantly) allowing himself to be that tool.

She's also not rich, and isn't prepared to enrich him.

I don't think Trump is ignorantly allowing it, it's just that he simply doesn't care about it.  Just like with the debt/deficit. HE won't be President when the bills ultimately come due, so why would he care?

There really needs to be a review on so called churches receiving 501c3 status on an annual basis.

If that’s the course the various investigations follow, then Trump may emerge as a brazen grifter who, by aspiring to the White House like a wizened, soiled version of Icarus, flew beyond the boundaries of his own luck and abilities and delivered his business, children and well-being into the hands of prosecutors.

All this would scare me more if his house of cards wasn’t tumbling.  We still need to stay vigilant and it will be a long fight but I’m still siding with the good guys to prevail in the end.

But people relaxing once this asshole is gone will be worse than the asshole’s actual reign.  He only exposed what’s out there.  The fight needs to be sustained.  Today’s youth give me hope.  And the olds dying, of course.  Sad truth.

100% this.  Trump is the pus-filled boil that can't be ignored.  But the infection that caused it is systemic.  Lance that fucker, sure.  But we need to put in a goddamned PICC line and start mega-dosing antibiotics posthaste if we want to get any better.

Strong anti-corruption laws and enforcement.  Robust voting rights protections.  Actually educate people in our schools.  Teach critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning.  Just for starters.

Same.  I do think voting trends show we are still progressing.  It makes this look like our era is just a last gasp of the segregation age folks doing whatever terrible things they've resented being told is wrong.

Complete transparency and a commitment to bipartisan enforcement of ethics and law-abiding behavior. I know those words are basically meaningless in this current environment, but if it doesn't happen, the entropy will be too much. The USA will eventually fold. Not completely, but we'll fade enough that other nations will take over to lead the world.

It's sad that this is easier said than done.  For fuck's sake, we have schools that still teach creationism alongside evolution.  That's fucking insane.

Still?  The destruction of our educational system is gaining steam.  The far right has managed to jam their views into a great deal of public school policy -- creationism, "alternate truth", erasure of important political figures (Hillary, etc.).  They're also managing to decrease funding in favor of alternatives that allow even more control of the message.

And he's the most powerful person in the world right now, and living a high flying lifestyle on our money.  Seems like his criminality has worked out for him.

See the Icarus comparison made in a post above (or maybe on the indictments thread).  May it be so.

Almost daily now, we're beginning to learn how much people knew about Trump's decades of vileness and criminality but chose to remain silent, or worse, gave him a tongue bath throughout 2016.

Was is because people quite literally feared some form of being directly harmed and don't anymore, or thought they could personally profit and now realize the well is dry ?

Looking back, it's staggering how much was known about Trump below the level of public awareness that simply went unmentioned and unquestioned by so many.

It's very difficult to say HONESTLY that there is any certainty that Russia DID NOT swing the election.  You can say there is no way to know for certain.  But there is no way you can categorically deny the possibility with a straight face, if you still believe in any actual fact finding at all. Especially when you realize his victory was what? about 70,000 votes swinging his way.

And it's especially interesting when you now know he KNEW Russia was listening when he asked if they were listening giving them instructions to go after emails. Then Russia does exactly as their comrade asked.

It wasn't hard to discern Trump's moral and ethical depravity even before the RNC convention.  I was shouting to anyone who would listen that he was a huge threat and that voting for him as nothing more than a lesser evil than Hillary could prove to be a very bad idea.

I didn't have access to his financial records.  I had no clear indication of his deep links to Russian and Saudi leaders.  I simply observed the man for 30 years and (rightly) concluded he was an utter piece of shit.  And that should have been enough . . . for everyone.  But it wasn't.  Because too many "moral" people aren't.

The DOW is crashing again.

I think the Trump presidency is over.

It's not over, but it is in ICU.

There's so much shit piling up against this administration. I just don't see how anyone comes out of it unscathed.  And tomorrow will bring even more.

It's been almost two years.  Quick. Name the "victories" this admin has had.

You can probably name them on one hand.

So long as your list contains the "tax reform" that utterly blew up our deficit but created effectively zero jobs, I'm cool.  Gotta count the big wins, man.

It was known.  Maybe not as much as now.  But people knew.   He left a trail of stiffed contractors and bankrupt, derelict casinos.  Hell, he publicly cheated on multiple wives.  Beyond being "blue" states, people in NY and NJ, where he had his bankrupt entities and left a lot of contractors in the lurch knew he was crooked, didn't pay contractors, got in trouble with NJ gambling authorities for money laundering in the 90s, and abandoned dilapidated fake gold encrusted casinos in Atlantic City.

Many people were screaming about this in 2016.  But this shit got thrown in by the media with all the other trump inanities and vileness, and this was deemed equivalent to "her emails."   Who can recall 90s money laundering when you've got a "grab them by the pussy tape" for 48% of the population to ignore?

This information was out there for consumption though..... Literally there are TV documentaries, articles, books, which not only reviewed how shady and disreputable he was, but highlighted how his perverse personality was not only ill suited for public office, but dangerous to the principles of any institution which stood in his way.  He sees the presidency as a way to serve himself and his family, not the other way around, which is a way to serve America and it's constituents.  All Presidential candidates have a healthy ego and want the accolades and power which comes with the office, but for a sociopath with zero self-awareness who doesn't understand accountability, it's the worst place to put him..... So, it wasn't that it was unmentioned, it was that it was suppressed by folks who wanted to vote for a TV Cult of Personality who would say anything and allow excuse all their insecurities and fears about change, globalism, and race.
