His base doesn't even believe him. There was some poll yesterday that 13% of the country thinks Trump is honest.  His base just doesn't care, because libtard tears.

Oh, and there'll be a run on guns and ammo soon.  Don't forget that bonus.

Des Moines Register:

Over the past three weeks, China canceled nearly 200,000 metric tons of U.S. soybean purchases for this marketing year, which ends Aug. 31.

But it purchased 387,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans for the market year that begins Sept. 1, a U.S. Department of Agriculture report shows.

Dermot Hayes, an Iowa State University economist, said Chinese soybean buyers are hesitant to purchase U.S. soybeans now, unsure if they will be stuck paying a 25 percent tariff once the crops arrive.

even the threat of a trade war is going to push trade in other directions.  If I'm a buyer in the US or China, I would rather select a vendor that will limit disruptions or drastic price increases.

Even if we get small concessions that will allow for Trump to call any trade pact with China a win, anyone knows that when you threaten buyers or any vendor with additional costs those groups go look for new people to work with. Trump has never had basic business acumen. His threats that will barely lead to any noticeable change in the economy, that were designed to help him win a news cycle, will really hurt his base.

Having said that, I expect him to win a news cycle with some Chinese concessions. I also expect it to help him with his base. They will just blame future economic hardships on brown people.

And Kraft is the retard that is going to greatly improve Colin Kapernicks lawsuit against the league since the rumor from Mark Geragos is that a certain sitting president called an owner and told him to tell all his friends to go hard against Colin or else. Which is all well and good until you realize that almost all of them play in tax payer supported facilities and you get to a 1st amendment case pretty quickly.

I swear its like Trump one day will learn to listen to an adult and SHUT THE FUCK UP BECAUSE YOU ARE ONLY HURTING YOURSELF IN THE LONG RUN.

Hey look, Trump is grieving over the loss of 10 (white) people in Texas this morning.

Took him over 3 weeks to talk with the (black) guy who was the hero in the Waffle House shooting.

Co-inky-dink I'm sure.

School shooting in Texas. Early reports not looking good. God bless all!

Pretty sad that this ding dong has to read prepared statements off a teleprompter any time something goes down.  He doesn't posses the capacity to say something eloquent and caring from the heart.  It is simply not in him.

Yes, one must first have a heart in order to speak from it.

President Trump has personally pushed U.S. Postmaster General Megan Brennan to double the rate the Postal Service charges Amazon.com and other firms to ship packages, according to three people familiar with their conversations, a dramatic move that probably would cost these companies billions of dollars.

Brennan has so far resisted Trump’s demand, explaining in multiple conversations occurring this year and last that these arrangements are bound by contracts and must be reviewed by a regulatory commission, the three people said. She has told the president that the Amazon relationship is beneficial for the Postal Service and gave him a set of slides that showed the variety of companies, in addition to Amazon, that also partner for deliveries.

Quote

Trump alleges that Amazon is being subsidized by the Postal Service. He has also accused The Post as being Amazon’s “chief lobbyist” as well as a tax shelter — false charges. He says Amazon uses these advantages to push bricks-and-mortar companies out of business. Some administration officials say several of Trump’s attacks aimed at Amazon have come in response to articles in The Post that he didn’t like.

The three people familiar with these exchanges spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the White House’s internal deliberations.

Brennan and Trump have met at the White House about the matter several times, beginning in 2017, and most recently four months ago, the three people said. The meetings have never appeared on Trump’s public schedule. Brennan has spent her career at the Postal Service, starting 32 years ago as a letter carrier. In 2014, the Postal Service’s Board of Governors voted to appoint her as postmaster general.

Clouding the matter even further, Trump’s aides have also disagreed internally about whether Amazon is paying enough to the Postal Service, with some believing the giant commerce company should be paying more, while others believe that if it weren’t for Amazon, the Postal Service might be out of business, according to the three people.

Trump has met with at least three groups of senior advisers to discuss Amazon’s business practices, probing issues such as whether they pay the appropriate amount of taxes or underpay the Postal Service, according to the three people.

These groups include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, then-National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn and Domestic Policy Council Director Andrew Bremberg. Bremberg has served as a key liaison with Brennan.

One of Amazon’s biggest defenders within the White House was Cohn, who had told Trump that the Postal Service actually made money on the payments Amazon made for package delivery. Cohn announced his departure from the White House in March.

The White House, the Postal Service and Amazon — as well as Bezos, via an Amazon spokesman — declined to comment for this report.

Governance by personal grievance. And we all have to humor this.... even the "left-wing" media does cartwheels around these obvious tin-pot dictator moves.

Since we have devolved into a bunch of 8 year olds and trolling is now the preferred behavior among actual adults, Bezos should ship a couple of tons of horse manure to the white house front porch via Amazon.

I would feel bad about this but it accurately describes American politics from the beginning.

Has Trump called the shooter an “animal” yet?  He’s probably waiting to learn the shooter’s race.

Why can’t he act like that at least 5% of the time? Did he hear Obama was against prison reform?

And if you put enough people of color in prison, they all win. Too bad it was President Clinton that showed them the way. Every time it comes up, they get a good but Clinton ready.

Rehnquist Court. Conservatives took over government by branding themselves as tough on crime. Don’t like the legislation Clinton signed? More people needed to vote in 1994 midterms then.

I'm surprised this isn't getting more attention.  A sitting president has a grudge against somebody so he is actively using the power of the presidency to hurt that person's private business.  I know this gets thrown around a lot, but this is what dictators do.

And let's get to the real reason Trump hates Bezos.  I mean, yeah, Bezos owns the Post and it's a media outlet that's very critical of Trump.  But if we get to the crux of it, Bezos is an actual successful person and a self made man who became the richest man in America.  Bezos makes Trump look like a pauper, and he didn't have his daddy and the government and foreign banks bailing him out when everything he touched turned to shit.  Bezos doesn't have to grift to be rich, and that pisses the president off bigly.
