The package has markings similar to the pipe bomb packages recently mailed nationwide to top Democrats, the sources said.

The address, 375 Greenwich St., matches that of the Tribeca Film Center as well as De Niro's Tribeca Grill restaurant. De Niro, the founder of the Tribeca Film Festival, is a vocal critic of President Donald Trump.

Police were called at 4:45 a.m. Thursday about the package, which was on the building's seventh floor.

Quote

Hua Chunying, frequent official spokesperson and deputy director of the Chinese foreign ministry’s information department, said “If they are very worried about iPhones being tapped, they can use Huawei,” as reported by The Washington Post’s Luna Lin. Hua went on to dismiss the NYT’s report as “fake news,” according to the South China Morning Post. “Seeing this report, I feel there are those in America who are working all-out to win the Oscar for best screenplay,” she is reported to have said.

The suggestion that Trump use a Huawei phone is, of course, barbed with the context that the US government has essentially frozen the Chinese giant out of doing business in America. Earlier this year the heads of the CIA, FBI, and NSA all warned US citizens against using Huawei’s products, while AT&T pulled a planned launch for the company’s Mate 10 Pro flagship phone at the last moment following political pressure.

The best thing that caravan could do now is to pick up a bunch of cinder blocks, stop on the Mexican side of the border and build a wall with a sign stating it’s designed to stem the flow of stupidity from the north.

I’m sure this has been mentioned but the quietest I’ve ever seen a trump rally was when he half-ass denounced violence last night.

No roar of approval: crickets.

No one wants to hear the ballad off the new album. They came to hear all the hits.

That crowd doesn’t want to listen to George the Animal Steele lecture them about respect for property.  They want to see him chew a turnbuckle to shreds.

I died at this. It's the most honest two sentences and perfectly sums up the Trump Era.

What did you expect?  That crowd doesn’t want to listen to George the Animal Steele lecture them about respect for property.  They want to see him chew a turnbuckle to shreds.  Trump’s crowds are there to watch Trump give a 60-minute wrestling promo.  Fuck all that peace and reason bullshit; they want to hear him challenge Nancy Pelosi to a Texas Strap Match and promise to smash Hillary Clinton’s face with a Flying Brainbuster.

Post of the fucking day right here.

That was the entire first year and a half or so. "untruths" or "falsehoods" were the preferred nomenclature.

"No one" is a pretty broad category. I've been calling him a liar for years. His GOP opponents in the primaries called him a liar. All his political opponents point out his lies. I can cite examples from media sources starting with Shep Smith who called him out for "lie after lie" on Fox News of all places in March of last year. The Atlantic, The New Yorker, the LA Times, HuffPo, The Toronto Star, just to name a few. The guy who got laid off at Carrier who tweeted that Trump lied to him all for a photo op.

Yeah, sometimes people use synonyms for lying like untruths and falsehoods. Barack Obama called him a bullshitter. That's a mere technicality. But it's simply not true that there was a time when no one used the terms lie, liar, and lying in reference to the President's compulsion to lie constantly about even the most trivial and easily fact-checkable topics.

Don't you hate it when there aren't any pictures?

I'm actually not a visual learner, believe it or not, so I'm like doubly dumb.

Wait, are you concern trolling me?

It’s all about lib tears.  We liked to give the benefit of the doubt before or at least tried to for posterity or whatever the fuck...

But it’s so damn obvious, that’s all that matters.  I can’t wait to celebrate this asshole’s death.  It will become an unofficial holiday.

It started at 40,000 jobs.

Went to 400,000 jobs.

Then 500,000 jobs.

Now at a million.

To give context, the whole sector for national defense is only 300,000 jobs. Total.

Again, for the 10,000th time, we are following the ACTUAL PLAYBOOKS for fascism.

This ring a bell?

Quote

war is peace
freedom is slavery
ignorance is strength

Purposeful, 180 degrees opposite-of-the-truth lies are THE INTENDED PLAY.

"I'm imposing massive tariffs!"

vs.

"There are no tariffs!"

And "this deal will create 4,000 jobs.  Wait, make that 400,000.  Wait, make that a million.  Wait, make it a billion!"

These lies aren't accident.  They are tools of authoritarian control.  An enemy of the Republic occupies the White House, and he has tens of millions of sycophants supporting and enabling him.  If you think we aren't at war for the survival of the Republic, re-read 1984.  Or any number of other books chronicling the basics of fascism and authoritarianism.

So what happens when a D is elected in 2020?

Um, what makes you think that Trump and the complicit Republicans are going to let that happen, regardless of the results of the voting?

Seriously - when was the last time - in the history of planet Earth - that a completely corrupt dictator - which is exactly what we have with Trump - peacefully handed over the reigns to a new administration and acknowledged that they were "voted out of office"?

I'm pretty sure the answer is never.  I do not expect Trump to be the first.

Had he not been elected, the printed campaign obit would have read his stream of falsehoods rendered him unelectable.  Once he was elected, lying became an acceptable practice that now is spewed by Mitch and others without a worry.  When these clowns get booted because accountability becomes part of governance, then lying will be an issue again. Currently, it's extending into the Judicial branch as well so yeah, we're fucked proper.  But officials represent their constituents presumably so we elect corrupt dipshits to take advantage of us electing corrupt dipshits.   They're criminals that really only have to say if you give us your money, Dems will go crazy.  And although this doesn't affect Dem leadership, it certainly affects constituents--of both parties.  Which is crazy f'g stupid.

Fucking this, a thousand goddamn times until the idiots get it. Millions of Americans see the signs of us sprinting into authoritarianism, the GOP rigging elections, etc., and for some reason still think that this is all just some temporary fever that will pass.
