To be fair,  foreign leaders are saying they can't believe how much the u.s. has changed in the past two years. They are saying "regressed" and he just converts it to "progressed ". Totally understandable since there's no way we could do anything else under his leadership. GPOAT

So, 88% of voters feel it is important for voters for the President to visit troops around the world.  But roughly half of Republican voters don't believe the news....so....

https://thehill.com/hilltv/what-americas-thinking/417870-gop-not-likely-to-buy-into-stories-on-trump-not-visiting-troops

Quote

Pollster Mallory Newall said Wednesday that Republican voters are likely to shrug off stories about President Trump not visiting U.S. troops in war zones.

Newall said many GOP voters will simply not believe the stories.

"In some early Ipsos polling, that we did earlier this year about Americans' trust in the media, we found that nearly half of Republicans say that the media is the enemy of the American people," Newall, research director at Ipsos Public Affairs, told Hill.TV's Jamal Simmons on "What America's Thinking."

"So if we're having conversations in the media about why the president is or is not visiting troops, you've got a whole section of this country, his base, that I think is going to be less likely to buy into that."

Trump said on Tuesday that he plans to visit a war zone in the future, but did not specify when or where.

A new American Barometer survey released on Wednesday found that 88 percent of voters said that it was important that Trump make visits to troops in war zones, while only 12 percent said it was not important.

The Washington Post reported earlier this week that one of the reasons Trump has not yet visited troops in a war zone is because he is concerned for his own safety.

Donald Trump insisted on Saturday that Mexico would pay for a wall along the southern US border, one day after his administration asked Congress for $18bn over the next decade to start construction on the barrier.

“I believe Mexico will pay for the wall,” Trump said during a brief news conference at Camp David, where he was meeting congressional Republican leaders to plan for the 2018 midterms.

Hold it right there.

You need to understand something. Iraq had everything to do with it, because if not for Iraq, there's no base on Saudi soil, and without the base on Saudi soil, there's no Saudi terrorists causing 9/11.

Can go into more detail on this when I'm not on a phone, but "we had to close the air base in SA" was the cause of the second Iraq invasion, and the air base itself was why the 9/11 terrorists came from SA, and the first Iraq war is why we had that base in the first place.

Of course, there were no terrorists there, and there were no WMD there, but Iraq had everything to do with it.

Is my sarcasm meter on the fritz? Either way, that's an impressive feat of mental gymnastics.

What does WW1WGA stand for again?

Do not google that, unless you want all your ads for the next month to be about doomsday prep kits, male suppliments, trumpy bear and get rich buying Iraqi dinars.

A war so nice we fought it twice.

DOTUS: "Many people don't know that they actually called World War One World War One at the time because they knew that our Great Ally Saudi Arabia was going to be a force in the world a few short scores of years later.  Speaking of scores, Lincoln was a Republican - a great Republican, perhaps the Greatest Republican until I was installed as your lifetime leader in the White House. It's an ok Mansion, but of course I have lived a Much Better Life in many of my other properties around the World.  Merry Christmas everyone (except the Fake News reporters and Consumers)!"

China: Americans need to stick to steam.  Electromagnets are too hard for Americans. They need to be Albert Einstein to understand them.

MAGA Crowd: fuck you bitches, we dropped the first atomic bomb in 1945, we had nuclear submarines in the 1950s, and nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in 1961. We put a man on the moon. We can do electromagnets.

Trump: we need to stick with steam. Electromagnets are too hard, we need to be Albert Einstein to understand them.

MAGA Crowd: Trump is right, we need to stick to steam. We are too dumb for electromagnets.  Trump is a genius, he speaks for us all!

I remain flummoxed and infuriated about the electromagnetic catapult "controversy".  EM launch is literally nothing more than a standard induction motor unwound from round to flat.  We've understood the technology in great detail for 130 years.  See Tesla, Nikolai.  Trump is such a fucking troglodyte.

Anyone interacting with Cheeto should be told to stick to two messages. All of our equipment is operating perfectly, and that's thanks to your superb leadership. That way, he leaves your area of interest and never thinks about it again.

Nothing of the sort. Not mental gymnastics, nor does it justify the decision.

Both the pro- and anti- war arguments were simplified to the point of being outright lies. The actual story is more complicated than that... but really not all that complicated. Decisions made in the past dictated the choices to be made in the future in a connected chain of events, and Iraq was involved in the beginning, middle and end of that story.

What is the protocol for the White House asking the SCOTUS to do anything? I can't imagine they would care too much.

on a serious note, they’re going to be denied cert and sent to the intermediate appellate court.

this is solely a political move to set up Roberts in the eyes of those who don’t understand legal procedures.

it’ll work politically in the realm of Trumpkins.

Trump will raise hell on the Twitters after this, calling out Roberts by name.

"We tried but Roberts and the Obama judges just don't want to secure our borders"

"DO SOMETHING"

Totally normal.

(figured the Trump thread was as good as any place for this).

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/bill-shines-fox-news-severance-package-revealed-1163664

Bill Shine received an $8.4 million severance package upon leaving his post as co-president of Fox News Channel in May 2017, according to a financial disclosure form he filed upon entering Donald Trump's White House as deputy chief of staff for communications. The document was released to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, a day after Thanksgiving.

Shine, who officially began working in the White House on July 5, will also receive a bonus and options of about $3.5 million from 21st Century Fox both this year and next year.

That means that Shine will be paid simultaneously by both the White House and the parent company of Fox News, a network that has had close ties to the Trump administration. The severance agreement expires on May 1, 2019.
