John can go fuck himself if he acts in any way surprised by this. What did he expect? You made your bed, John. Snuggle up.

I don't really give a good g'd damn who he gets for CoS.  I'm only interested in charges and indictments.

Party line vote is party line vote. But apparently we are supposed to act like this is something new.

I guess we are hoping you could figure out a distinction between what Trump is alleged to have done and lying about a blow job.  But great 'both sides".

One can have a genuine debate about the  nature of high crimes and misdemeanors and blow job perjury.   The issue is (and was) actually legally murky and subject to genuine debate about the nature of the crime.    Nixon had the GOP crossing the lines.  Clinton, not so much.   But that is less a function of the political side of Congress than it is a function of the different natures of the crimes that were alleged.

I tend to think of raw dogging porn star cover up hush money crimes in that same category - I personally do not think it should rise to an impeachable offense.  OTOH, obstructing investigations into the illegal Russian attacks on our country's election system (and abetting participants) seems different.  To me.    But if you see no difference, then "Lock her up!!"

Come on Anastasia, even you can't "both sides" this shit show with a straight face.

There are party line votes for political reasons (Obamacare comes to mind)...but this is a whole different ball of orange wax.  We've never had an administration this corrupt before.  If they won't buck the party line to save the Constitution and our democracy, then they should all be lined against the wall and executed for treason. Period.

I was responding to a twat listing of GOP senators who apparently voted for impeachment on obstruction grounds, pointing out that it was a party line vote. Similar to todays entrenchments.

Now if you want to start talking about lining politicians up against the wall and executing them for crimes against the constitution, you about to get me harder than a motherfucking pipe.

Change your handle to Robespierre and we can start talking.

Actually I totally disagree.  And have stated up thread.  I dont think that lying about a blow job should result in impeachment. I do think that campaign finance violations should. Of course, if that is what it boils down to the result will be the same, party line. Which was my point.

Hush money from campaign funds moves the needle for me. Would’ve been the crime of the decade in most decades.

I'd like to hear the pulse of aggyland on this particular point but don't have the stomach to visit texags. I'll +rep a motherfucker who posts the good stuff on them debating this specific topic (if they have the awareness of it as an issue).

To be clear, I'm assuming Trump paid it himself out of his pocket.    If he used donor money, that would be an entirely different thing.  Or if his charity did.   I get the fact that it is a crime to use your own funds to pay off a ho that might get you bad press in an election.  Exceeds campaign limits.   That is more technical.

Using someone else's funds is far more serious.

Shit.  If there's a new party, it will be taken over by Republicans who fully supported Trump, but need to find a new home for their survival because the GOP brand will have become too toxic.  Like a hermit crab finding a new shell to reside in.

If the GOP has shown over the past 30 years...they have an outstanding knack of changing their messaging, plank and mission statement to fit the shifting political winds.  Think back to 2010 and the Tea Party infatuation (that had a short shelf life). If their elected members feel the only possible survival of their political position and, personally, their seat is to leave the GOP and go to the newly formed Liberty party, they will do just that.

Kinda like Hydra taking over Shield.

Salt the fucking earth of the GOP.  McConnell - dead.  Graham - dead.  Rand - dead.  RYAN - dead.  Sasse gets the Jake Spoon talk before he hangs.  Torch it to the fucking ground, Huckabee and Conway live in Argentina and the kids from the barrio throw rocks are their houses.  A new conservative party forms but nobody from the old guard escapes and the complete annihilation of the party is cited for a century whenever this shit starts to happen again (on #bothsides).

It'll never happen, but that's the dream.

a) Milo has no power

b) you are correct about the big picture of the culture war.  obviously we could go on endlessly giving shit to southern land owning Christians feeling like the Trump party represents their interests.  culture war doesn't go away anytime soon but this is going to be a big blow to the olds who are dying off and won't be replaced, and the younger bernie/trump people who feel left behind are less loyal to "whichever guy on the right" to fix their lives for them.

c) how's your 401k doing buddy?

So, you did verify it's not real...correct? Because I also can't tell otherwise.

Real or not, who else is gonna take it? Its a short term 180k gig. Trump is shooting for guys making 2 to 300k right now. Ain't gonna happen. Ain't gonna happen with guys making over 100k right now either because there is zero job security and a black hole after the job is over.

Baio ain't doing anything else. His name will come up on the list eventually.  Right before Chanel West Coast.

The first one of these was posted 40 minutes ago. Can't figure out why the hell he takes so long in between posts. It's not like he's taking time to spell or fact check. I'm picturing him trying to write his tweets on an old flip phone and having to use the numbers on the dialer to scroll through and get to the different letters.

For a lot of people, myself included, it’s part of the context of the crimes. Trump is going to be fighting impeachment without anyone competent to work Congress or organize WH personnel. And, the fact that no one is interested gives some indication of the challenges that effort holds. Lots of little boats leaving the sinking ship, and no help is on the way.

It will never happen because at the fundamental base of it, the GOP platform is an attractive one that appeals to a) Christians b) Southerners c) White d) Men e) with assets d) with land e) with a way of life f) to protect g) from upstarts/current-minorities/future-majorities/growing-factions

That's quite an indictment of the GOP.  But let's sharpen the pencil a little bit

a) Evangelical Christians

b&c) Uneducated southern white men *cough* racists *cough*

d,e,&f) Who aspire to owning land and assets (poor/lower middle class)

g) Overt Racists and Xenophobes

But you left out the most important category....  The Ultra-wealthy who control the sheep in a-g with fear, ignorance, and superstition so that they vote against their own self interest.

Lordstown Ohio...  ready for all those Trump jobs?!

West Virginia...  coal mining is back baby

You would think that any of the trump supporters in Congress would be lining to be CoS.   They know Congress and they can be confident that trump will further their career and reputation.  After all they can be CoS for 6 years.

NGE has it right, obviously.
