11 minutes between those tweets.  He had a long and good call in 11 minutes.

I think Twitter has his tweets on delay. I know I would if I were them.

I’m not so much concerned with where the Trump supporters came from.

My concern is where are they going?

Imagine if Trump just vanished from existence.  Where or who would his supporters flock to?  Ted Cruz? Tom Cotton? Rand Paul? Joel Osteen?

I honestly have no idea.

my belief is the core of that group is large and essentially incorrigible.  much larger than the obvious members we see out in the sticks.  really, this country wouldn't be what it is or maybe not even exist as a nation without their remarkable past here.  so it's hard to think in terms of their not being here, but that might become a requirement.

8 minutes to fact check that.  WSJ should have someone fact checking and refuting all of his tweets nonstop.  For the good of the nation.

Edit: or WaPo, whoever.

I've lost my usual Surly discipline due to holiday vagaries, so SIAP, but Trump's tweets read like Ralphie's theme assignment saga in A Christmas Story.  The elementary composition, the misguided certainty of his own persuasiveness and self-congratulation, it's all there minus the nostalgia, warmth, and likability.

All of the worst possible character traits of a person who leads 325 million people. Waiting for someone to come kiss the ring and make a deal. But we all know it's not about making a deal with the Chinese or Pelosi. It's about killing time and enjoying the chaos of the shiny object of the day/week. The pain inflicted on the federal workers is a feature not a bug. It's a bonus for him. He enjoys it.

Maybe if he says 'The Wall' enough times in the next two years, he'll get re-elected and get to kill time for another four years while the SDNY waits for his term to end.

He has so much support because many not so bright people are not doing well and he blames it on colored folk.  Half that 30% buy that BS.  The other half are bigots so they know he’s full of shit but lib tears = winning.  Those 2 groups which have some overlap explain the majority of his support.

there is also a substantial group of people who say, "oh, i wish he would tone down the rhetoric, and i dislike him as a person, I do not support Trump at all" and will then turn around and vote for each and every Republican, thereby entrenching his support - because there is no such thing as a "non-Trump Republican,"  at any level.  these disingenuous shitbags do support Trump, and they will vote for Trump again - no matter who the opponent(s) is/are, no matter how reasonable and centrist the opponents' views and platforms are.  they just lie about it.  there are lots and lots of these Slorches and fake Gary Johnson voters out there, who will not be reflected in the "support Trump" category that is comprised of racists, abject morons and traitors.  so the support numbers that you see in the 30s and 40s is actually much, much lower than the number of Americans that actually support Trump, in my opinion.

They couldn’t keep a black Muslim atheist Marxist Socialist Kenyan community organizer from Chicago named Barrack Hussein Obama out of the White House for 8 years.

Their numbers are confusing because they drive their Rascal scooters in a single-file formation.

"All Texts Demanded"  ??? Really Donald?  You sound like a parent angry with their 13-year old who just got a new phone for Christmas.

A pivotal moment in America's history.  And her fate fell to such a child.  A below average man in almost every respect.

And they'll also tell you what type of "centrist" Democrat they would vote for, and then just vote straight Republican ticket anyways. No wonder they support Trump..."he's just like us!".

On the topic of govt workers that are expected to show up to work and get paid later, how long would any of us agree to that pay plan?  A month?  Two?

at some point I would think it would be illegal to require someone to work without pay, or the uncertainty of pay.   If you don’t show up, we are going to fire you, but if you do show up we’re not paying you.

He has never taken responsibility for a fucking thing ever, therefore he will never fix a fucking thing. He will only pursue that which benefits himself, in a half assed mean spirited way. He destroys other people's lives and cares not a wit. What a worthless president and a shamelessly selfish destructive manchild fuck cunt.

Odds this ends with 2/3 House, Senate veto override ?

Recall Trump also screwed R’s in Congress who had a funding deal in place with Trump before Trump pulled this stunt.

It would take a lot for McConnell to not go along with trump publicly.

Trump is going to refuse to sign whatever Pelosi passes so...

Then they should vote on a handful of populist bills, particularly ag related legislation and prescription drug bills, and force Chief Orange Face White Eyes to veto shit that some of his base finds favorable. Pelosi is about to run circles around the man baby.

I hope Pelosi is planning this and not just taking the traitor’s bait to argue about unimportant shit. Pass bill after bill putting republicans squarely against the middle class while performing their Constitutional duty to be a check on the executive branch. This could be America’s and Congress’ finest hour if played correctly.

I agree with the last sentence, but not for the same reasons. Caving to Trump's base is not some magic jiu-jitsu manoeuvre that will trigger a reshuffling of allegiances.

The best way to beat Trump is to hammer home his flaws over and over.

Oh yeah, I don't really count this group as his support...they're good with whatever the R party throws at them to vote on.  The 30% I'm speaking of would literally rather watch this country burn than librrrrrrulls get their progressive agenda moved forward...

Back in the day it was progressive to want women to be able to vote, then equal rights for blacks...they hated seeing all that shit forced down their throat.  Later on gays fought for equal rights...we are getting there and they also hated that.  They'll always be on the wrong side of history and this is just another chapter in that book...they'll go down supporting Trump.  Through history's eyes supporting Trump will look as dumb as opposing women's right to vote or any of the other 'progressive' movements noted above.

To go back to the topic above, I'm NOT giving those R's a pass who just pull the lever R no matter what...
