OC suburbs- white, conservative, expensive.  LA burbs- diverse, liberal, expensive.  Lots to do in either. LAfood scene rivals anywhere in the world if you ask me.  Non Covid traffic is awful everywhere.

Was hoping to get some opinions and breakdowns of the LA vs OC suburbs.

COL

People

Culture

Food

Things to do

Traffic etc

North, south, east, or west suburbs?

Basically, all of OC is a suburb. There really is no metro area there.

In LA, the shortest errand will still take you an hour because everything is always crowded.

No idea how it is in OC, but I don't miss the constant hassle.

Someone I use to work with lived in a suburb where all the strippers frolicked. I think it started with a C. It has been 25 years, but some things kind of stick in the memory.

Pretty conservative.  Of course, in California, it's all relative.

I'm thinking it was Corona. Was it Gandolf or the People's Elbow who worked for GGW? He should know where all the porn stars at.

Corona sounds about right.  Just the right combo of affordable and trashy.

I have a customer in Corona.  Corona sucks and is hot AF in the summer.

not really.  Used to be all over the "Valley".   Woodland Hills, Studio City, Van Nuys, Pacoima.  Pretty much anywhere North and West of North Hollywood.

Why do it in a pricey state?  Just use South Austin's mom's living room like we all do.

Looking at:

Rancho Mission Viejo

Mission Viejo

Aliso Viejo

Rancho Santa Margarita

Irvine

Stanton

Eh whatever, or we'll just stay here in the PNW

yeah, one of those is not like the other.

And regarding Irvine: are you Chinese?

Anyway, OP,  I happen to work for the best brokerage in SoCal, and can hook you up with a great agent that works that end of OC exclusively.   I wouldn't be comfortable giving any advice about those areas.  My wheelhouse starts at Dana Point and goes south from there.
