Give people time outs and then sentence them to CR for a while

How about sentencing the DT politicos to the CR and the CR politicos to the DT.

Let's be honest about the reality - the CR and the DT are tribal headquarters for the "Resistance/Never Trumpers" and the "Trump's Silent Majority." Both have "shock posters" to police the troops and the sanctity of their respective headquarters. Political discourse between the tribes is virtually non-existent. Personal Politics has a starring role in every clash between them.

I like the idea of the new board. Policy is politics but policy can be discussed rationally, since neither Party has any intellectual framework or ideology today. There is a reason they are called the Uniparty. They both win as Parties regardless of who is elected. The system is broken.

. . . and ignore works. Do it for your sanity. There are quite a few misguided souls out there. But be open to well-stated viewpoints that challenge your assumptions about the world.

I guess I’m the only one here that thinks this but I love Derka. His hoops takes are great. If people wouldn’t fuck with him because they can this board would be a lot better.

Main threads totally fucked now. Abortion and such. I gave up posting bc hardly anyone is discussing Floyd or even the riots. Hopefully it will be better by morning.

I enjoy a movie with my family and come back to the most fucked thread I have ever seen. Banned a bunch of people

At least you enjoyed the movie. I never have reported a post my whole time as a poster but the last few pages of that shit made it tempting. I can’t remember a thread getting that fucked up that quickly.

I mean talking about if Jesus endorses "chopping up babies" or not seems like a pretty bright line in my book for a thread on police brutality.

Gotdamn I'm glad I missed that

Actually, she has posted her picture several times over the last few years. Last one was at a Beto rally she was attending. I think she might be mentally disturbed, so I'm inclined to give her some slack. With that said, I'm sure she is revered among the lefties over there.......

Thinking about making a new forum for very active controversial news stories that bleed into the realm of public policy.

The Minneapolis and covid threads would be moved there and others that are similar. In this forum there can be no political party discussions similar to the early rules of covid. Policy is allowed and political positions are allowed. If you break the rules you lose access to that board entirely and if you start posting about it anywhere but CLOAKROOM you get put into CLOAKROOM only and can't see the rest of the board.

If you mention politics outside of CR or this special "halfway" board you get a real ban, starting at 1 day then going to 3 then a week then 2 weeks...etc

Thoughts?

I moved several posts about Trump's trip to church to another thread.

It should no longer be discussed here

I really disagree with this move. This is shaping the narrative and preventing a full discussion of what the fuck is going on.

It was just "a trip to church". It was federal and military police sweeping and clearing a lawful peaceful protest in memory of George Floyd. Protesters were being shot at and bowled over by cops with their hands up and chanting George Floyd.

That belongs in the thread about George Floyd's death. This is your site and you can run it how you want, but this is taking measures to shape the discussion and disqualify topics arbitrarily. Shame on you.

For fucks sake did you see the thread last night when I left for a few hours?

Turned completely political, mainly around this topic.

I am not censoring anyone. If you want to talk about it talk about it in the other thread.

Is it in DT and not CR Bc icono self exiled and would bitch about being censored?

No it's moved because it's clogging up the main thread and leads to all the CR fucktards coming out and using their talking points.

Should a Applwhite/Sims argument go in the middle of a game thread or should it have it's own thread?

Why? Why can it not be discussed somewhere else?

I'm saying that framing what happened last night as "Trump Goes to Church" is glossing over the attack on peaceful protesters who were lawfully exercising their right to peaceful assembly in a public space.

Have you even watched what happened yesterday in DC?

Work has been a mess so I haven't been paying total attention, but is this the same church that the peaceful protesters tried to burn down?

There was a small fire set in the basement of the church, there was not an attempt to burn it down and the bishop who oversees the church has made it a point to say as much every time she has spoken on the issue.

There was a large demonstration of peaceful protesters adjacent to Lafayette Park. Truckloads of National Guard members were brought onto the WH lawn in full battle rattle, and federal/military police set up lines with a 10 ft gap to the protesters. The protesters were peaceful, holding up signs and their hands chanting "George Floyd" and "don't shoot".

With a curfew at 7, at 6:30 police began firing rubber bullets, tear gas, and rubber bullet claymore mines at the protesters and shoving them and beating them to force them to clear the area. Many reporters were attacked as well by the police, including an Australian news team that is sparking an international incident. Police expelled a priest and a seminarian from the church during their sweep. You can read a first-hand account from one of the church staff.

At 7:01 PM, the president walked to the church which he has never attended to hold up a bible, take a picture, then walk back to the White House.

That's quite a bit more than "Trump Goes to Church", but don't let me get in the way of ignoring the evidence of your eyes and ears.

Here's some evidence for ya, champ.

Quote

A fire was set in the basement nursery of historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, across Lafayette Square from the White House, during demonstrations Sunday night expressing outrage at the death of George Floyd in police custody.

...

D.C. police said a small fire was deliberately set in the basement. Under police escort, D.C. firefighters quickly extinguished it. Fire department spokesman Vito Maggiolo said the blaze did not appear to cause any significant damage.

But if that's all you got out of my post, don't forget to put on your brown shirt today

Please keep the Trump goes to church thread in DT. If you move it to CR, Icono cannot take part. He is defending his position and if you move it, he no longer will be able. For as much as there's this drumbeat about a CR bubble and group think, a thread that's only about one particular topic should be allowed to remain so everyone can take part in the discussion.

My bad.  Usually when someone sets a fire in a building it's an attempt to burn it down, but like I said I haven't been paying close attention.  When the rioting and looting started I ceased giving fucks about what happens to them.

Yall sure are straining focus on the thing that happened the day before the police brutalized peaceful protesters and has no bearing on the behavior of the police yesterday.

I remember when I was a kid and couldn't hold two thoughts in my head simultaneously. Then I grew up and stopped binary thinking.
