Meh.  Looks like we're rolling out the greatest hits with 3putt's earlier post about a chance for TX to turn blue and now Gaetz is in trouble again.

There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on . . . shame on you. Fool me . . . you can't get fooled again.

How that man never won a spoken word Emmy is beyond me.

no link, but I read today that McCarthy is coming for Gaetz, Mace, and a few others.  He's got a ton of dough to throw around.

I read that yesterday too and am thinking the same thing. I fully support McCarthy in this endeavor and wish him luck.

They ain’t doing shit. She could have text messages where he admits it and they’re not expelling him

I think there are plenty of McCarthy loyalists who are still pissed at how things went down that are chomping at the bit to knock a few foreheads off this guy. If they did it to a cross dresser, they can do it to a backstabbing 6 head.

Yeah, they will time it up to expel right before October recess since everyone will be out campaigning.  There won't be much new business after the summer.

They got their impeachment, he’s in a safe district, and yeah, plenty of R’s want to make an example of somebody in the House, because under McCarthy, things were happening, lobbyists were satisfied, etc.

This.

They expelled Santos knowing they'd lose the seat. They'll have no problem expelling a dude from an R +19 district.

So now all of a sudden they are going to grow a backbone?  OK.

If they expel him, can they prevent him from running again? And most likely winning.

He can run again and it has happened when someone expelled won their seat back - Adam Clayton Powell. His case went before the Supreme Court who ruled that Congress had to seat him and couldn't override the will of the voters (Powell v McCormack)

They'll do what Trump tells them to do.  He is the heart and soul of the gop.

If Lara Trump gets her fingers on the GQP finances, the rest of the GQP won’t get any of that money regardless of their fealty to him.  At that point he becomes a liability to them over certain issues and the fact that he is taking money that would normally help them.  Some will turn on him fairly fast if he drags them down.

Hey will expel him with the slim margins they have now in the house?

Presumably, all the Dems will vote for it and a some Republicans who see how dangerous the MAGA 8 are will cross over and have moral cover because the Bible says that "paying young girls for sex and drugs just ain't right."

So I’m genuinely curious how a story like this is reported by Daily Beast on a Friday, and then it just disappears.   If the bigger media outlets reported it, I didn’t see it.  (Of course, I understand that Fox isn’t going to tell their viewers)

Why does that happen?

I just missed the stories from other outlets?

The whole thing was bullshit?

Daily Beast has a leaker that they trust, but no other organizations can confirm it?

Seems like someone would run a “daily beast is reporting that…” story.
