Just like Ted Cruz was going to argue the Texas Supreme Court case knowing full well that no oral arguments would be heard. They legitimately have zero respect for their voters' intellect. Like, not a shred.

Why should they?  Their voters have proven time and again they don't deserve respect.

He represents Floribama.  Intellect is a dirty word there.

Everyone here laughs at this piece of shit, and they should, but anyone who can't see what he's doing here is willfully blind. This guy is taking every step possible to raise his profile. He's going to run for something bigger next, and he's going to win. He's openly discussed moving to Alabama to run for Senator. This motherfucker thinks he's going places, and he's probably right.

Like I said in other threads, he didn't go to Wyoming for shits and giggles - I think he's wanting to replace Liz Cheney in the short term.  That's the quickest path to more power for him - he's not going to knock McCarthy off anytime soon - McCarthy has done enough to keep Donnie happy.  But Gaetz could absolutely (and quickly) find himself in a House seat that has quite a bit of power.

He's smarter than Tubberville.   So there's that.

His ceiling is senate and that’s only if Ivanka decides not to run

He can drive 30 miles to Alabama the day before the filing deadline and be eligible to run for the senate in Alabama. Which is what he will do if Ivanka shows up in Florida.

And he would be no worse than what they’ve got over there now

Can someone explain to me why that is “clinging?” Because 70% feels like an asswhipping and not a clinging. I’m sure I’m not understanding something.

Yeah that was a dumb word to use. Dominant beat back, really

From my understanding of these sorts of things, if you don't have unanimous (or near-unanimous) support from the caucus, then you probably don't have a chance in hell of any kind of future within the caucus.

If that’s the criterion for a future within this caucus then the caucus has no future

Pay attention to the vote on MGT.  Not every Republican politician is going to get the chance to be honest with a secret ballot.  The problem is the ones where the public spotlight is on them.  Do they vote against crazy, and risk having the crazies show up at their house?  Or do they look around, and realize that the GOP better decide who it is really fucking fast before this time next year?  Because primaries are only a year or so out.

Rep Kinzinger was on CNN this morning.  He doesn't think there will be more than a handful of Republican votes against Q Barbie.  Apparently he made some rather scathing comments aimed at McCarthy in the caucus meeting, but he wouldn't go in to any details.

Anybody else notice that "Alpha Male" Matt Gaetz is wearing thank-you gift jammies from a Presidential sleepover party?

I had Fox on because I wanted to hear wingnut MTG talk.  After she finished, they went to Gaetz.  He said something along the lines of "Whew, I need a cigarette after how good that was."

What a dipshit.

even totally creeped out the fox host

Can somebody do that face blending thing where it shows what two people's heads would look like if their faces merged into one?  Like you see it with what a baby from two celebrities would look like.

But I'd like to see what would happen if you took the faces of Matt Gaetz and Jack Ma and merged them together (plus hair).  The horizontal axis and the vertical axis.

I think it would break the software, but I'd be interested nonetheless.
