There are 2 options.  He's gay or his district is so rascist that he thinks knowledge of his non-white child would be a detriment to his political career.

To further add to the confusion on Nestor’s age, this link from May 2014 mentions Nestor was a page at the time. He would’ve had to be at least 16 at the time, which would make him 22 now.

Following a scandal in 1983, the Page Residence Hall was established[citation needed] and Congress required that all pages be at least 16 years old and juniors in high school. Previous to that, the age range of pages was 14 to 18 and no type of housing was provided.[citation needed]

Matt Gaetz hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt here to suggest that he has selflessly adopted this kid and it wasn't well know because it's none of our business. That's clearly going to be his spin if it isn't already.

That said, I feel bad for the kid.  So my "hope" is that it's as simple as he was afraid of his constituency's reaction and that it will cause him some serious self-reflection on why he was afraid and what that means about him and the people he represents.  As bad as that is, it's the better of the two outcomes for the kid.  Who am I kidding, though.  He's going to play the fucking martyr here because that is what Matt Gaetz would do.

And he still got owned by Clarence Richmond.  Damn right it hit a nerve.

hahahaha holy shit "helper" as in "helps me get my rocks off."

jesus, dude, nobody cares if you are gay, except every existing republican.

it's too much. it's just too much.

Let me play devil's advocate for just a second. He said "My sssss[on]...helper here." It's an Xmas message. So maybe by "helper," he was referring to Santa's Little Helper instead of saying son which might be truly be the case. It could've been an innocent word replacement to stay in the Xmas spirit. That would be my most generous explanation.

What I actually prefer to believe is the worst: Gaetz bought this kid as an underaged sex slave to live out his fantasy as an incestuous pedophile, who likes to be called "Daddy."

Could he have been a Florida House page?

Edit: would make sense. Gaetz was a State representative in 2014, not a US Congressman

I am going to give Gaetz the benefit of the doubt that this is ultimately legit.  That just makes Richmond's remarks all the more cutting, true, and awesome.

really, why? literally nothing he has said or done up until now warrants that much of a pass. why would he suddenly start telling the truth?

Because a scandal would be fine and all to embarrass Gaetz, but that sucks for the kid.  I guess I'd rather it be legit is a better way of putting it.  And if it is legit, based on all of Gaetz's rhetoric, what Richmond said about Richmond caring more about Gaetz's son than Gaetz is true.

IF Gaetz is lying about this or something shady is going on, he’s a bigger moron than I assumed.

There are a lot of smart and savvy very online people who are bored/out of work/stuck at home right now.

Those people love nothing more than an internet investigation that results in scandal and schadenfreude.

Can't follow the origin of all this. But clearly there is some shady ass stuff going on between the "local student" moniker, the venmo charge, and others.

EXTERIOR  - WHITE HOUSE - THE YEAR 2030

(Candace Owens voiceover)

10 years ago, most people didn't believe President Re-Elect Matthew Gaetz would ever sniff the White House. But one fateful day in June 2020, he tweeted about a young man named...Nestor.

Yeah, but what if you overcame being called "Smitty" at your frat house?  Is that anything?  Is that adversity?  Can we get Rex Kramer on the line?

As far as I can tell, this all started last night on Twitter with some guy looking through Gaetz’s Venmo friends which were public. It started with the tweet below, then another guy spots Nestor and screenshot it. People start commenting. A few hours later Gaetz comes out with the story about his son.

gaetz venmoing instawhores is almost as good as good as ted liking incest porn.

What politician has a secret son? There’s no way this is legit

I knew Fortunate Sons. Fortunate Sons were friends of mine.

Nestor, you're no Fortunate Son.
