The heroes we need.

Beavis and Butt-Head are back, but not for MTV: The 1990s icons are headed to MTV sibling Comedy Central. Series creator Mike Judge and 3 Arts Entertainment have struck a wide-ranging deal to bring back the characters from Judge’s iconic 1990s series for ViacomCBS’s Comedy Central brand, which has given a two-season order to a “reimagined” Beavis and Butt-Head. The deal, which also includes a component for Judge to develop additional spinoffs and specials, comes as Comedy Central mounts a major expansion to build on the long-running success of South Park by increasing its adult animation output.

In today's maniacally hypersensitive environment "reimagined" B&B will probably have a leash so short that it will have zero entertainment value.   On the flip side, if Judge is allowed to run with things the show will probably last about two weeks before it gets yanked because of said maniacally hypersensitive flakes.

Either way, sadly, I'm not expecting much.

It's moving to Comedy Central. Adult Swim is anything but hypersensitive. Have you seen an episode of Rick and Morty?

yeah, plenty of animated shows today are a lot worse than b&b ever was.  family guy has a reoccurring pedophile character. south park is 10x less PC.

I wonder if they will go back to making fun of music videos aka Youtube videos or do like they did with their short lived return and go after TV shows.

I believe the problem in 2011 was they had to get the bands permission to lampoon the video where I don't believe that was the case back in the 90s so that was why there were so many clips of BnB lampooning MTV properties like Jersey Shore.

It will be curious how they fill that void as I don't think CC has permissions on the music video front and they don't have nearly the volume of garbage dump programming to make fun of that MTV does.

The Jersey Shore backdrop for B&B circa 2010 was hilarious.

I could see them watching some lame old standup specials

I would love to see their take on this Midnight Special segment with the original Genesis with Peter Gabriel with bat wing eyebrows.  B&B would shoot Big Gulp cola out through their noses..

I read someone say that the “reimagining” probably involves them sitting in front of their tablets watching YouTube videos. If they’re sitting on the couch playing on the Internet, the list of things they can be making fun of is infinite.

This was some the funniest stuff they did on the original so I hope so.

Will watch.

Them walking into a meeting of a feminist group named "Womyn" (because they didn't want "man" or "men" in the name).

Butthead:  That's not how you spell "women".  These chicks must be stupid.  Stupid chicks put out.

Seriously, can we please stop with the "you couldn't get away with xyz these days cause pc..." If anything, there is tons more you can get away with. Family Guy also had an entire episode and 5 minute song about a down syndrome girl, voiced by a girl with actual down syndrome. I just finished the finale of Big Mouth on Netflix, which could probably be defined as animated child pornography. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia just finished its 15th season and is scheduled for several more. They've had full body blackface and the only repercussion was that the episode is not on Hulu, but you can still buy the episode from multiple places (and most people understand the anti-blackface commentary intended). Meanwhile, Beavis and Butthead in the 90's was protested and almost pulled  because they played with matches. Come the fuck on already. Stop with the "woke mob" persecution complex. People can complain more because of twatter, but it doesn't mean shit to the the suits are still putting this stuff out there without much actual concern.

Who was the Texas politician years ago that was complaining about them in a live presser and he kept calling them “Bevo and Buttkiss”?

That conversation should always end with:

and

and finally South Park.

It's odd that Beavis and Butthead were so controversial, and now they are tame as fuck when you look back at them.

Welp, paramount+ wins. I can’t believe it.

Yeah we’ve got almost everything but paramount+ but the mrs. is aware there’s Yellowstone-related crap on there so this seals the deal

"Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe" will be released in July. New episodes of the tv show will follow soon after.

"In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-Head are sentenced to Space Camp by a 'creative' judge in 1998. Their obsession with a docking simulator (huh huh) leads to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don’t score."

Not sure why they need a wormhole explanation for the time gap, but I trust Mike Judge to get it right. If they're gonna fuck with time, would be fun to see an Idiocracy reference where they are considered super smart.
