Pages and pages of evidence of soldiers kidnapping, abusing, and tear-gassing peaceful protesters. Not once did you feel called to say anything about the clearly thuggish and illegal behavior by the soldiers.

As soon as you thought you saw something you could jump on from the other side you piped up.

You're a moron and a coward.

The poster Axiom of Choice is The House. He/she is simply what would happen if Morality had a Tahoehorn posting for its cause over and over again

The House is fear mongering, power hungry and well, facist in some way. It always is, as is that poster. We would be best to ignore that poster and not get lost in sparkling wordplay. Your post here lays out exactly why. Thank you.

How many times have they set fire to the federal buildings in Portland over the last month?

I looked. I found one mention of "what was believed to be a small fire" at the federal courthouse. Given that description, I'm going to guess really close to zero. Also, some people launched fireworks... in early July...

If there are actually people lighting federal buildings on fire, they should arrest them rather than gas/beat/kidnap protestors using unmarked vans. The fact that they haven't been actually arresting the folks they've "detained" should say a lot about how legitimate their motives are.

Who is “they?” And how does that group of “they” overlap with 1) the people who’ve been snatched off the street into unmarked vans, and 2) the people who have been tear gassed and pepper bombed etc?
Because that’s how the law and the constitution work. You don’t get to name some nebulous group of people “they” and then just start arresting and gassing every one of them.
I mean, unless you’re a fascist authoritarian piece of shit. Then it’s totally in the playbook.
So, please show us the “they” correlation here.

If he's not Escriva he's a damn close imitation.

Not really the same style at all. AoC tends to get deep into the weeds with logic and is drawn to metaphysics. That was not Escriva's M.O. he would usually make vague references to Friedman without ever really discussing the Chicago School or anything else for that matter.

Personally, I have no issues with AoC but then I also like Bad_teammate and Anastasis posts.

Also Escriva is Catholic, Axiom is CoC.

This sounds right. Escriva always came off as a poor imitation of a National Review editor with a devout Roman Catholic background. The kind of guy that would side with Generalissimo Franco. Fun fact, J.R.R. Tolkien was one of those guys.

I didn't know Axiom was CoC. CoC has some odd beliefs, that is pretty surprising.

I didn't know that about Tolkien. The big thing about COC is sola scriptura, that you don't get baptized to become a part of a Church, no 10%, and only a capella. Those are the big differences.

I’d just like to point out again the absolute insanity of this post. You have no evidence of any kind and you don’t even know the answer yourself.
Why did you even say this? Did you simply regurgitate a talking point without even a moment of thinking to check if it was true? Either you are incredibly easily deceived or you’re intentionally attempting to deceive us, so which is it?

I don't remember his complaint against unmarried men.  That would seem like an off objection for a catholic to make.  Was he referring to the single parent/fatherless rate?

This is overly simplified because I can’t search for any posts on the old site too well. But he basically viewed marriage as a civilizing influence on men, without which they were aimless, violent, narcissistic, etc. I recall him posting along that line a lot (probably because I was a young, unmarried man at the time so it rubbed me the wrong way).

In all seriousness, I greatly admire the political activism apparently displayed by the offspring of some of the posters here.  My kids are far too young to be facing up tear gas themselves, much less for me to be advocating it. I generally educate them to avoid any and all interactions with the police when at all possible, so not sure it would be very coherent at this point to drag them into a situation made for confrontation with the police.  I do hope that the yutes keep the pressure on beyond the the current administration.  I saw a lot of really vigorous STOP WAR NOW motivations fall to the wayside among my neighbor's kids corresponding to a change in administration last go around. Maybe this time will be different.

Yeah, dude was a Mel Gibson type Catholic. He even rejected Vatican II and saw Franco as the defender of the Catholic faith against godless communist forces. I first discovered this when I was reading a book on C.S. Lewis who opposed the Nationalists. Lewis was born a Protestant in Belfast so there was no way he was siding with Franco. Plus Lewis might have had some socialist sympathies and he was definitely not socially conservative. Anyways, Tolkien's support of fascist Spain was something the two quibbled over.

I am familiar with the CoC. Their concept of Sola Scriptura is pretty extreme and major deviation from the historical concept, it's a Restoration sect. The whole Cambell-Stone concept of "doctrine" from scriptural silence never made sense to me.

I member. The cause was quickly abandoned by the standard liberal (shit libs) once Bush was out of Office. The next thing I know I was surrounded by progressives, libertarians and anarchists and then Cindy Sheehan was muzzled.

That was when my political activism died. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again when the Democrats are no longer the opposition party.

This will 100% happen.

Imagine a Democratic president, Senate, and house doing basically fucking nothing and the cognitive dissonance within the "RESIST! VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO! GETTING TRUMP OUT IS ALL THAT MATTERS!" crowd. They will be calling these same protesters Russian plants.

Ha, not too long ago my grandfather told me that he thinks that anyone who believes in Christ will go to heaven. That was a bit of a surprise. I also know what it is since I'm in the denomination. I have heard some people call it more of a cult, but I haven't seen that myself, but I can't deny thier experience.

Ok those two things are fucking beautiful

They are. Also, Portland is probably the whitest city in the US.  They were targeted by the feds deliberately.

Ultimately, this has always been an urban/rural divide.  Its true that urban areas have failed at controlling PD unions.  Its time for state and national governments to allow municipalities to control municipal entities.

We pay all the taxes. We get no mental or physical health funding. No infrastructure funding.  No education funding.  Instead, our security forces get money whipped with our money against our will.

Sure, urban areas don't produce much food, but I could buy all the produce in Iowa more cheaply if I bought it from a warlord.

Seems some of the people are just being let go as well.

The following article, Criminal Charges Against 59 Portland Rioters Dropped by Multnomah County Prosecutors, was first published on Big League Politics.

An analysis of court and police records by Portland’s KGW8 has revealed that Multnomah prosecutors have dropped criminal charges against 59 individuals arrested for crimes during the city’s nightly destructive riots. More than 400 people have been arrested and charged for rioting offenses since ANTIFA-linked street criminals began staging destructive nightly riots in the liberal city, going so far as to attack a federal courthouse with improvised mortars and to riot in the streets armed with improvised explosive devices.

The sum of dropped cases is almost 15% of total arrests made during the nightly riots.

Nine of the criminal cases dropped by Multnomah County prosecutors had included felony charges, including felony riot, arson, and theft. The other fifty cases involve misdemeanor rioting offenses, such as disorderly conduct, interfering with a police officer, and resisting arrest.

At least one rioter is described as having deployed a molotov cocktail device in the street riots, bragging of his alleged criminal act in discussions with other ANTIFA operatives.

TIL Obama was President in 2002.

2015, the Homeland Security Act was amended to allow ICE do what it's doing now. 2002 was when the beast was born but it's been cared for and fed in a bipartisan effort for 18 years.

Please check your sources.

USSA News is a news and opinion website established in 2010 in response to the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA-Obamacare). The tagline for this website is “The Tea Party’s Front Page”, which indicates a right wing/pseudo-libertarian position. USSA News has an about page that describes its mission.

This about page also lists facts such as a 20 trillion dollar debt to prove how inefficient and wasteful the government is. Further, the about page contains an entirely false, so called fact that reads “Illegal aliens have more rights than most citizens.” This is false. Further, this site does not list any names associated with it.

Funded by / Ownership

USSA News does not disclose ownership and a Whois search reveals domain information is redacted for privacy. The website is funded through online advertising and donations.

Analysis / Bias

In review, USSA News uses moderately loaded language in headlines and articles such as this: Russia Warns of Global Conflict over Nuclear Pact Collapse. They typically source their information well, but many times it is to other right wing sites with a mixed factual track record. For example, they use the Daily Signal and Christian Post as sources of information. Both of these sources have Mixed factual ratings by our standards. They also sometimes link to questionable sources such as Conservative Fighters, which has a poor track record with fact checkers. Lastly, all articles on this website favor the right and/or libertarian positions.

A factual search reveals a few failed fact checks.

Overall, we rate USSA News Right Biased based on story selection that always favors the right and Mixed for factual reporting due to a few failed fact checks and use of poor sources.
