Welp, that’ll make it official.

Yeah. Just turned it off. Not interested in watching the Astros run it up on us.

This team just fucking sucks. Our hitting with baserunners on sucks, our starters aren't consistent, our releivers suck, our fielding is embarassing. We're a bad baseball team.

Rangers have the worst team OPS (.628), the worst team batting average (.210) of all 30 MLB teams. They have the next to last runs scored but only because the Cardinals have had so many game canceled. They are 7 runs ahead of SL in 37 games, SL has played 29.

This is exciting.  Not as exciting as being in first place and 12 games over but at least it's new.  If Tejada is up lets bring up Jung and Apostel and Wendzel.

They can't be as raw.

Play the kids.

Sounds like Andy Ibanez will be next. Grant...

Andrus had been out for two weeks with a back issue when he returned in Houston on Tuesday. He was 2 for 13 since returning, but his inability to at least stop a grounder in the second inning Friday may have ultimately been what convinced Woodward to look elsewhere. With a runner at second, Ty France hit a ball to Andrus’ left at 81 mph — a relatively soft exit velocity — that got through the infield for a run-scoring single. The xBA (expected batting average) for the ball was .130, well below average. Andrus either couldn’t dive because of lingering back issues or didn’t.

“That’s a play that you would expect a shortstop to make, especially at this level,” Woodward said. “He didn’t really say much about it after, but I kind of had a feeling; obviously we can all kind of see if there is some lower-back issue there. But he hasn’t really performed to the level that we would expect or he would expect. I want to see Tejeda play. I want to see what we have.”

The Rangers have already started turning over more playing time to younger players. As the losing increases, so do the changes. The Rangers had lost 15 of 18 heading into Saturday night’s game. Jose Trevino took over as the primary catcher two weeks ago, Leody Taveras as the center fielder last week and Eli White as the left fielder in the past week.

The next player to get a look for a team moving into the future with reams of offensive questions is Ibáñez, who is 27 and has hit at every level. Like Willie Calhoun and Nick Solak, though, there have been questions about where Ibáñez might be able to play defensively. He has played primarily second and third base but has also worked at the alternate site at first base and in the outfield. Trying Ibáñez as a right-handed hitting complement to Ronald Guzmán at first might be tempting.

“As an organization, we value him, especially with the bat in his hand,” Woodward said. “He gives you a quality at-bat every time. He hits the ball hard, stays in the strike zone, has a ton of adjustability on every pitch. He handles everything, every type of pitch, every type of velo, every type of speed, spin, everything.

“He’s an intriguing guy. He’s worked really hard on his defense to make himself able to play all over the infield. He’s one of those guys, that when he gets a chance, he will stay a long time because he can hit.”

The Rangers made it clear on Saturday: More chances are coming.

Tejeda really trying to end E’s season!

One thing Tepid always said on the RODPod was that there weren't a lot of alphas in the org but he thought Tejada could be one.

You’re kidding, right? His OPS+ the last TWO years is 78. League average is 100. He’s been 22% worse than fucking average offensively since ‘17. He’s fucking awful.

And that’s not even counting this stupid season.

Yeah but his fielding has been great.

All alone in first/last place.

Keep it up boys

We are 3 and 18 over our last 21 games.

At one point we looked like a pretty decent baseball team.
