The don’t sexuality me gal had to delete her Instagram after posting pictures of herself wearing an outfit NYE that was “sorta sexualized”. I don’t really have anything against her but, she just seems to be trying too damned hard to get noticed.

Honestly she's just an extremely dull person and I think has too many voices in her ear that are simply trying to get a piece of the pie.

She seems to be under the impression that she can't be both a sex-symbol and excel as an athlete and that couldn't be further from the truth. It's actually very easy to pull that off.

She needs to get her ass in the gym and work on her game and also not give a fuck what everyone thinks about her. Post something risqué on Instagram then go drop a 20/20. If she starts doing that she could honestly rival Clark's popularity.

I just don't think she is smart enough to understand how to navigate that. Kelsey Plum and Cameron Brink both handle it very well - she needs to take a page out of their playbooks.

Pretty big trade,  Had a feeling that LV was gonna break up their core 4 but still kind of jarring to see.   I'm not sure Loyd is an upgrade but she isnt a downgrade for sure

Lose Griner and, more than likely, Tarausi get Alyssa Thomas (probably Bonner too) and Satou.    That's a nice upgrade.

CC making it about CC as usual.

Clark is going to have Swift show for one of her games this season is my guess. If the WNBA was smart they would be trying to get Swift on board in any capacity.

Nalyssa Smith was traded there yesterday.     Good for them

The Sun have given up/lost 6 of their top 9 scorers last yr and will probably lose Dewanna Bonner too who is a FA.

Oh My God Wow GIF

Granted - she was bad last season shooting-wise, but should be a good rotational player and a vet presence.

Yeah she wont have to be a primary scorer like she was still trying to be in CON.  Should be great in the locker room too.   Damn good pickup for them

The new women’s basketball league Unrivaled is averaging 185,000 viewers across TNT and truTV through three weeks, with last week’s slate averaging 166,000. Coverage last Monday averaged 196,000 (Vinyl-Lunar Owls: 216K; Phantom-Mist: 177K), up 18% from the previous week.

I never understood the rush to start a second women's professional basketball league when the first wallowed in a financial black hole until CC arrived on the scene. Opening week debuted around 300K viewers and by week three already down 40+%. If I was TNT, I would have conditioned my media contract on CC signing up. Rumors they shelled out $100M+ over 8 years for this. CC could probably get 25% equity of the entire league if she wants next year.

I assumed the ladies were just looking at alternative revenue streams since playing in Russia during the wnba offseason has gotten a little bumpy, and found a buyer.

Yes, this was the main impetus.   Keeping the women from having to play overseas.   The games have been pretty good IMO and the 1v1 tourney has been interesting.

WNBA legend Candace Parker is teaming up with Bill Haslam, chairman of the Nashville Predators, to bring a WNBA team back to Nashville. Meanwhile, according to the Austin Statesman, Kevin Durant, along with a group of entrepreneurs and a former NBA team owner, has submitted a bid to bring a WNBA team to Austin, Texas!

I was curious who that could be. I think the Moody Center and Austin could support a WNBA team. Not sure if the players could afford life in Austin on a WNBA salary though. Then again, I don't know how they hell they afford LA or NYC

They make basically what the lower-paid guys on Austin FC make.

Low six figures I assume. Comfortable, but not really able to get into the nicer neighborhoods.

I’d imagine most supplement their wnba salary with endorsements, other leagues, skills clinics, speaking gigs, social media channels, and whatever else.

I can't recognize or name a single WNBA player besides CC and perhaps Britney Griner (is she still even playing WNBA?) so I would be surprised if anyone but the highest salaried stars get that kind of revenue.

Pretty amazing some still have this view.   I'm not going to say you're the minority but the people who can name W players and view them as viable celebrity endorsers is a quickly growing group.   There is a reason the league now has a line of about 10 cities that want to get a franchise.    Its not just because of CC
