As an Everton fan, I'd say this is clearly a break for us with all our injuries.  Everton has vastly improved in the last year since Carlo took over, but we still don't have the depth of a Man City type club.

Leicester scouting and development is fantastic.  damn, they turn out some quality players.

Must be all those trips to Thailand with free entertainment. Wink wink

no Werner or Havertz in the starting 11 today for Chelsea.

Havertz already lost his spot. Werner is probably being "rested" even though he got pulled after 45' on Saturday. Guessing we see Werner subbed in in the 2nd half.

Slammed at work and missing it. What's your overall impression so far?

Back and forth ... maybe a 60-40 possession advantage to Chelsea.  Both teams had chances in the first half - but Chelsea led 1-nil at the half (fair result).  Villa's not had many chances here (20 minutes into the second half), but took PERFECT advantage of what they did have.  Chelsea will probably be the primary attacker for the rest of this half.

Chelski just netted one, but clearly offside, so it remains 1-1.  And honestly, Villa will be thrilled with a 1-1 result at this point.

  • 8. Chelsea (25, +13)

AFTER this match:

  • 5. Villa (26, +14)
  • 6. Chelsea (26, +13)
  • 7. Spurs (26, +11)
  • 8. ManUtd (26, +9)

Havertz and Werner on for Chelsea.  20 minutes left.  should be action-packed.  this match is not lacking in chances.

Werner needed to come on so he could send a chance 3 yards over the crossbar. We can't have him getting rusty.

Havertz showed some quality. I think he still gave 2 balls away in about 5 minutes but what are you going to do?

Not sure why CHO has been buried the last season+. He was y’all’s best player the last two games.

He was not our best player today. I'm fine with seeing him play more but it's not like he's head and shoulders above anyone else.

 ManCity, not ManUtd.

ManUtd is 4th.

but yeah it is tight... if Southampton wins tomorrow.. the will jump from 9th to 4th - leapfrogging over all those teams above

Leeds dropping 5 on West Brom while Liverpool can only score one and then get equalized on to draw them at Anfield in front of 2,000 fans. F'ing 2020, man.

He's been nursing a hamstring all December.

I agree tho, he and Pulisic need to be our wingers until Werner gets his shit together. Granted that could change with Ziyech returns from injury.

Got to admire Che -  he just kinda brushed it off and kept on in the match. Unlike some PL players who go down writing in pain when they get breathed on.

He was concussed, had no clue what he was doing.

Lol, this isn’t the 1950’s bro. He got kicked in the head. Maybe your coaching/medical staff pretends to give a shit?

soccer players are pretty much essential workers given their importance to the mental health and well-being of people in the UK.  take a 2 week break and get them started on the vaccines.

a multi-week winter break should already be built into the Premier League like all the other European leagues.  this might be the beginning of a yearly break.
