So it looks like the anti-gun folks are organizing more protests on 4-20 this year and they picked that date because of the Columbine anniversary.  Are they fucking high?  Why not pick Cinco de Mayo, the 4th of July or better yet, Christmas?

Right.. my point was obviously that I don't think many people will be motivated to March on 420 while they are busy getting stoned out of their fucking minds all day.

They are going to push gun control on the easily hypnotized weak minded stoners, get them "on their side". They have conflated these two things before, in Hawaii. The plan is you trade in freedom of self-defense for freedom to dump pleasure chemicals in your brain.

  • Gun control
  • Increased illegal immigration
  • Tax increases
  • Climate Change

This is the docket for the upcoming midterms.  Gun control is, in their eyes, one of their big ticket items and are hoping many share their views (see ABC poll below).  Problem is the states like PA, WI, OH, and MI where there are a lot of gun owners and NRA supporters.  Then layer in Pelosi popping off about repealing the tax plan.

Gun control and higher taxes.  That the winning ticket.

78% of Americans are looking for a congressional candidate who agrees with them on gun policy, new @ABC News/WaPo poll finds. http://

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

November is looking like one of the times it is.

"Madam Speaker" has such a sweet ring to it.

Zero problem whatsoever, though it did make me impatient for the work day to finish :)

We'll see.  As posted earlier in another thread, ABC posted a recent WaPo poll that insinuates otherwise:

JUST IN: Democrats’ advantage in 2018 midterms narrows in latest @ABC News/WaPo poll, with Democrats holding a five-point lead among registered voters certain to vote in November. https://abcn.ws/2qFZrPt

5pts?  This far our.  From WaPo (usually skewed by 5-10% in the Dem's favor).  More than likely you can flip those numbers with their track record.  Poll also indicates that 78% of Americans are looking for a candidate who agrees with them on gun policy.  As mentioned, this isn't a winning strategy in states like PA, WI, OH, and MI with a large number of gun owners and NRA members.

Then you factor in renewed energy from the right - Same ABC post:

MORE: 95% of likely Republican voters say they’d vote for their party’s candidate, compared to 89% in January, matching the level among Democrats. http://abcn.ws/2qFZrPt

Wishful thinking. The GOP is going to get throttled in November.

Got an e-mail from my oldest's high school. Seems there is walk out in the works on Friday. I almost succumbed to replying with this gif:

Now that the STAAR test is over, the school probably doesn't care either.

Actually, I think there is still some testing left to do. I know my kid has an AP test coming up in May.

But, whatever. If he walks out, he takes whatever lumps the school dishes out. As long as he's not using it as an excuse to get day drunk or high, I don't care.
