This season he came on strong, but really just hasn't setup this team for success the past few months.

West Ham collapse changed everything.

Peak Mourinho achieved in year 2:

1. Piss off a star player (Dele)

2. Questionable lineups

3. Become surly in the media

All while playing boring futbol. It usually takes 3 seasons for this to unfold. At least we got there quicker.

It's not cursed, it's poorly coached.

When you go out playing not to lose you really are taking away your chances to win. This team was playing defense all night long and barely had any attack. This tie should have never come down to a dramatic save in the final minutes of extra time. Spurs should have gone for a goal from minute 1 to put this away early.

I will just add 1 more thing on this last second save. When they are up 3-2 in the aggregate, of course he has that slightly extra step to make it, because he knows they can win the thing. If this comes in the first 20 at 0-0, then I guarantee you Kane scores this goal because the mountain for these guys looks so tall.

I guess what baffles me is the tactics considering that Europa was the best path to making the UCL. Why play to defend 0-2 for the whole night?

I was coming to post the same thing

He isn’t banging on Jose, he’s hitting on other players.  Not to say Jose is absolved of any failures, but this is kind of telling. Especially the game plan part.

It sounds like the players need a Come to Jesus moment. Maybe this was it?

A good portion of the players quit under Pochettino at the end as well. The roster really needs some wholesale change as well as a managerial change.

This seems to be a reoccuring theme for this club.

Lots of tweets/rumors saying Jose is out unless he finishes top 4.   Which is almost impossible.

It's Matt Law and the Daily Mail saying it. I think it's likely correct, but I believe it's worth noting that the most reliable Tottenham beat writers, Alasdair Gold, Dan Kilpatrick, Jack Pitt-Brooke, and David Hytner have not reported it.

I would add that Nagelsmann seems unlikely. There's a decent chance Hansi Flick takes over for the German national team and Nagelsmann takes over at Bayern.

Who would we think would be a reasonably able to get replacement?

Idk much about managers other than the obvious big names. What about Klinnsman? I only know him from his time with the USMNT, but he's got a relationship with the club and has got experience. Thoughts on his style on the non international level?

No clue. It's been reported by reputable reporters that Nagelsmann is the top target. Maybe now more names start filtering out. I don't see Klinsmann being a serious target at all.

nagelsmann and brendan rodgers have been the top two targets for the past month.

hard pass on klinsmann. his last non-international managerial stop lasted three months.

I get Nagelsmann is the top target, but like Schulz mentioned, he could become a target for Bayern (I could see Barca looking his way too if they sack Koeman). If either one is the case, I highly doubt he's coming to Spurs. So who else is out there?

Rodgers would be interesting.

He's a flat no. His stint at Bayern showed that he is not a club coach. He failed at Bayern because he had to deal with day to day strategy, training, etc. That's not his thing. He is a perfect xNT coach because he doesn't need to do that day in day out. Just for a few weeks at a time and then when tournaments roll around.
