Maybe Ted isn’t the main guy this season, as he is back in Kansas (there’s no place like home).  This is the gang getting on without him, other than a couple of video calls and a visit?

Henry has turned into a budding soccer prodigy and is signed into the newly formed Richmond AFC Academy. Hijinks ensue when the Lassos return to London.

Can't find it, but I watched an interview with Bill Lawrence yesterday and he said Lasso was never intended to only run 3 seasons and the last episode wasn't written as a finale.

I'm in absolutely no position to say this to the creator of the show, but I'm calling bullshit. That was the seriesest finale I've ever seen.

Translation: Apple is giving me an obscene amount of money to continue the series.

But why?

I can't imagine there are a lot of big budget blockbuster productions knocking on the door of these particular actors' and show runners' doors.

Finally got around to watching this. I loved the original NBC shorts and stayed away because I didn’t think that could translate to a series (let alone three seasons).  I was so wrong. This series was fantastic.

”I’m trying to build bridges here!”

”You couldn’t build Jeff Bridges.”

Yeah, it was enjoyable even if it was probably the worst episode of the entire series.  It still is better than 99% of the Xmas drivel out there.

Ugh, I hate fucking society right now. Just a bunch of bitching "omg not girls!"

I assume he's going back to Richmond for this? Wonder how they'll address his happy ending back in Kansas if he returns to Richmond. New relationship and takes his kid with him? It will lose so much charm if the setting isn't Richmond.

For me, it's not "omg not girls". It's trying to squeeze more blood out of the turnip. This show had a great finale and now we're running it back but this time he's coaching the women's team? Just feels like that will pale in comparison but that's what we're doing now in the IP world we live in.

Same. It ended perfectly. All these extra seasons do is tarnish the legacy of the show. It was just perfect

I like the show enough that I'll give it a chance.

If it's horrible I'll just pretend the series ended earlier, like I do with GoT. :)

Sort of agree that bring it back after the happy ending is risky, but if its gonna happen, trying to make it the same would be worse than finding a new angle, and women's soccer is in line with the tenor of the show in general (omg so woke, girl power, rage). The original cast, or most of them, need to be involved. The relationship dynamics is what made it special, in that super cheesy way that somehow worked.

Yes. I don’t see how you can have Ted Lasso without also including all of Coach Beard, Keely, Roy, Rebecca. Even Jamie

Thanks for the bump of the thread, I'll be watching this thread. I'm completely out on this, but you guys have fun and if I see it bumped and overwhelmingly/surprisingly rave reviews I'll check it out.

Jamie will not be a regular due to scheduling issues.  Coach Beard and Roy Kent are in as EPs for the show, but not confirmed as cast members.

I'm all in on keeping Hannah Waddingham employed and on my TV screen.

For me it’s just that I don’t watch women’s sports at all so why would I watch a show about it?  It’s Ted Lasso, so I’m sure I’ll give it a chance, but I’m not super excited about it.

Same. Soccer is basically tied with golf in terms of boring shit I won’t watch. I loved TL
