I almost posted that. Davenport Village. I haven’t been to other locations in quite some time and wasn’t sure of consistency across their places….but these were 10/10.

The one they had on north Lamar was fantastic. It may have shuttered though?

My late sister used to make a drink she called a "Swirly".

It was pina colada and strawberry daiquiri poured in a tall glass and lightly swirled with a swizzle. They were great on a hot Houston summer day.

I sure miss her.

I'd drink that if you pour a bunch of 151 in it.

Which I think they sadly quit making.

My recollection of eating at Ninfas as a little kid was me getting the “El Rey” (two puff tostadas covered in queso) and mom drinking a sangria swirl, which was a frozen margarita with a cool looking red swirl in it.

Wait!  What the what?

I guess that's what happens when I don't buy it for thirty years.

TRUE LEGENDS NEVER DIE?

Well, unfortunately BACARDÍ 151 rum had to be discontinued in 2016, but the legend of our Over Proof rum lives on in the

memories of its loyal fanbase.

cheese enchiladas are simple but not easy.  a few years ago I stopped getting cute at mexican restaurants and now almost always order a straight cheese enchilada plate.  I have been a little surprised at how inconsistent they are and how some “good” restaurants aren’t good at this basic dish.

I regret never having tried dart bowl.

I've had more disappointment since I started going for the enchilada plate at Mexican restaurants.  Inconsistent for sure.  More often than not, around here, it's a traditional Mexican enchilada plate, which is fine, bit if they have a Tex-Mex option, the chili/carne topper is a weak spot, and I'm left wishing I'd ordered the traditional version.
