Texas WR/TE Passing Offense Talk

Just want to say that DeAndre Moore is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. Team guy and works his ass off on the field. Plus he's legitimately a badass. Dude is gonna EAT next year with more targets.

I know Sark likes to hit receivers on the move, but I wish the offense had a WR curl at 10-15 yards as a changeup or when they need some easy yards against man coverage.

I wish we ran more bubble screens.

Almost all our quick passing attack is to the perimeter. Teams are not even accounting for Ewers to take off up the middle or bubble screens inside. It's a big reason teams are able to bring pressure with their LBs because we don't punish them in that area.

If Ewers would just start taking the easy 5 to 10 yard scrambles it would completely eliminate teams blitzing with their inside LBers.

Need Bond back. Also need Johntay to find his way back on the field again imo.

If feel like I saw cook early vs vandy get blown up on a block for a loss and then didn’t see him again but could have been wrong

Do you mean tunnel screens?

Has that been the issue?  His blocking sucks?

I think the issue is he isn't better than Golden, Moore, Bond, and Wingo. Looks like the staff is now trying to get Bolden more involved. He is just sitting 6th. He is not as big as Golden, Moore, or Wingo. He isnt faster than Bond, Wingo, Golden, or Bolden. Even in HS, he had a reputation for inconsistent hands.

It does, the big 3rd downs that both WIngo and Bolden had against Vandy were comeback routes, And Xavier Worthy routinely had deep 15 to 20 yard comeback routes.

Sark went after the NB on Vandy. He is "big" NB and Moore was an obvious mismatch. That was the focus of the gameplan. Explains why the outside WRs had quiet days.

Johntay taking picture?

Hes half way in the Portal already….   Jk. I mean he started out great, 8 receptions, 17.1 average and 2 TD’s, now he’s disappeared.  I don’t think talent is the issue but he had a couple bad drops.

So how were the Razorbacks able to keep the Longhorns from producing the explosive plays that Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is always seeking even though Ewers did take some shots downfield?

With the benefit of two weeks to prepare for the Horns after a 63-31 loss to the Rebels that featured Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart throwing for 515 yards and six touchdowns, the Hogs turned to the three-high safety defense popularized by Cyclones defensive coordinator Jon Heacock in one of the most important defensive innovations of this century.

love bolden for the hustle play of the game that kind of put the game on the trajectory for a blowout.

but my god, that mother fucker is trying to get me to stroke out with his punt return decision making. it has all worked out so far but there is literally nothing i hate more in football than punt return fumbles and i sweatergahd, i am to a point where i have to look away on our punt returns.

more than a month later and i cannot believe that bolden in the arkansas game did not actually put me in my grave. i am pretty sure i had a ministroke though as i had blurry vision for five minutes after his brilliant decision to go ahead and snag the ball at the goal line while running into the end zone. is banks coaching this shit from the vip lounge of the spearmint rhino after a line?

Not sure about that , looked like he scooped it at the 5 and it was going to roll dead at 1”

line. Took a nice hop and he had a little space.  I didn’t mind that play.

There was one earlier where he fielded the punt falling down that game me the widow maker.  He looked banged up late in the game.

What an amazing progression over the course of his Texas career for Helm.  I’ve loved his play but thought he’d end his career as a valuable roll player.  Now he looks like a legit NFL starting TE candidate.  I never realized how good his hands are.  He catches everything.
