You Texans do know that Prime did not go to a single class the entire fall season of his last year at FSU…

Dad gum, wonderful Christian and good old boy Bobby Bowden did not have an issue with Dion not going to a single class at FSU the entire semester.

So as a Gator, I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I saw him giving a speech about academics

I suspect that is pretty common at all schools for players in their last semester before turning pro.

Not sure what Bowden's religion has to do with it other than exposing your bigotry.

Which part of the Bible talks about going to class?  I mean, the disciples left everything to follow Jesus.  Talk about skipping school.

That was God, leaving out the chapters in the Bible about how many school snow days Jesus and his disciples missed….in order to test your faith.

Cracks me up when modern coaches rage quit like Saban due to everyone being able to openly pay players now. Dude did nothing but illegally recruit every stud football player in the country for years knowing the NCAA would never come down on Alabama because of the money involved. Then wants to cry about lack of control by governing bodies. These fuckbags basically killed the NCAA and their ability to enforce anything but now want to bitch about the state of things. They were the ones in complete control as it all happened. Fuckin rich.

Bobby correctly knew that as long as he continually told everybody what a great Christian he was that he would get absolute passes from people like you.   He wasn’t dumb.

I’m not sure what you mean by this. Plenty of Christians are quick to judge.

I’d have most likely gone to jail had that been my daughter.

I like the one about how they leave the locker room.  All these speeches about how to act and none of it sinking in one bit.  Makes for good media clips though, yeah?

I agree. Denver Post had best Colorado high school football players. Few are athletic enough to play big time high school ball.  However there are some linemen getting looks and none committed to CU. You would think you lock down Cherry Creek if you are the CU coach.

I am not sure CU is at the level of "locking down" anything. Maybe just target a winning record first.

You are correct. I guess by lock down I mean the basics like a lower level position coach at their games each week.

Deion is compelled to treat everyday moments like alligator wrestling. Nobody wrestles alligators without an audience.

Couldn't possibly just say "tidy up and respect your environment." No, choreograph it as a production and present it as you being the beacon of virtue.

"Gentlemen, don't shit on the coffee table. It won't be tolerated." Print that on a hoodie.

To me it's always funny when those who were wildest, craziest and least responsible try to preach without huge doses of their own stupidity being admitted to.

In Prime's case his brand is flash and non-conformity, so this is gonna be interesting to see play out over time.

he always banged his Christianity drum whenever he could, despite being one of the dirtiest coaches in football throughout his tenure. Some people find that kind of hypocrisy annoying. As an ordained Elder in my church, I certainly do.  One of his players brutally raped and beat an FSU coed.  Bobby sent a letter to the judge, saying what a good kid he was, and requesting leniency.  The FSU Co-ed never got a letter.

Bobby correctly knew that as long as he continually told everybody what a great Christian he was that he would get absolute passes from people like you.   He wasn’t dumb.

Are you telling me it’s common that at the University of Texas your players do not attend a single day of class their last fall semester?  That would be news to me.

Oh, don't mind Sack. He's just standing up for oppressed groups like wealthy, white, Christian males in America. They can never catch a break.

I think with the rules about minimum percentages of players making progress towards a degree, they are much more likely to be “encouraged” finish out their final semester. Also, I’m not sure if the school has rules regarding fall semester grades affecting bowl eligibility. 30+ years ago when I was in school I know many of the players quit going the semester their eligibility was expiring

All I know Doc is that it was a big thing in the day - and led to special legislation, preventing it in Florida.

I just wanted to point out they had a losing record. Cause fuck Deion and his fucking virtue signaling.

SIAP...

Here's how much Colorado is charging to attend its NIL fundraising dinner

Want to spend $20,000 to eat dinner with Coach Prime? Too bad, that table's already full.

I lived in Cherry Creek Village for a year-and-a-half and don’t feel like any parents in that section of Denver South would want their kid anywhere near Deion.

Just sayin’

Yea I hear ya. I guess the point still stands that any coach at CU should make the effort (and in all fairness maybe he does we just don’t know).

Let’s also be real that Cherry Creek start football players aren’t from the nice suburbs of Denver. They get “recruited”.

It's kind of unbelievable how predictably all of this is unfolding. Deion's arrogance in the notion that he's some sort of magnetic force that will simply attract the best and the brightest due to that was only reinforced by the start early last season and all of the adoration.

That didn't translate at all in recruiting, it's starting to seriously lose its luster with the current roster, and the transfer portal this cycle is shit for them. It may turn out that the HC of a program actually has to, you know, put the work in on recruiting, player relationship management, and portal recruiting. That would blow a lot of minds, not the least of which will be Deion's. Then he'll just blame a bunch of other people and mysterious forces working against him and fuck off elsewhere eventually.

This CU 2024, short of a number of portal hail mary completions, is 2-10/3-9 at best and the roster is all his (un)doing.

I know it's unlikely, but I would so very much like to see Deion at CU without Shedeur and Hunter next year.

I mean, he's running the thing like a pickup team for Shedeur - that kid isn't transferring.

Over/Under 99.8% chance Dion in some way makes the failure at CU about race.

He's coached one season and increased the win total 400% from the previous year.  They look to be much improved this year.  Where is the failure coming from?  This program was DOA when he was hired.

Even better than Urban's NFL record!

Sayyyyy... if Prime doesn't hang around too long, Urbs is prolly gonna be available. Just sayin', you know?

No, but they have 10 kids in the portal, one of which was a 5 star last yr coming out of high school.

Hate to spoil it for you, but they’re generally a 2 - 4 win team. He didn’t do shit but open up the magnifying glass.

Didn't they lose two upper classmen offensive linemen? I don't know what they brought in. About 25 players brought in from the portal. How good are they? But it sounds like they're already thin on the OL again.

Cormani Mclain is a player that could be interesting but I don't know if his shithead factor is real or just some kind of grudge match that transpired between him and deion.

OImarion Miller looks like a legit player.

Miller is still on the team (for now, anyway).

Prime gets a pat on the back and goes viral for videos of himself admonishing his team for trashing their locker room and players goofing off during class. What a world.

Not a recruiting dork here, but know enough to see his BS is gonna fail miserably, just a matter of time.  I think this massive exodus is the beginning of the end.  Will be fun to watch him set CU on fire.

There’s still a mass exodus you can watch, it’s called OU’s offensive line….

You keep citing winning 4 games last year means that the program has improved dramatically from the 1 win the year before. But they were 4-8 the year before that and 4-2 in the covid year. Seems like you're ignoring a lot of blinking red lights clinging to that.
