So did you predict he would win more then 5 games just curious what was your prediction. I have not been paying attention to this thread or CU but I recognize a goal post move when I see one.

I've said i was wrong multiple times, that he exceeded my expectations and predictions. I didn't think he would win 7, much less content for the Big 12.

If saying I was incorrect and badly off on my predictions is moving goal posts, fuck man, I don't know what you want me to say.

I respect your post. Agree about the drama. It's fun.

I do hate when people criticize him for leaving Jackson State. Almost every college coach goes onto better opportunities when they can. And his former college and conference deserve lots of blame, for trashing him out of jealousy at press conferences, stealing his things from the locker room, (!!!!) and not honoring his contract.(allegedly) He has also been criticized for 'leaving the community.' I think the community left him.

But how can you say he hasn't succeeded in two seasons? CU won ONE game two years ago and had the worst players in a major conference. Now, there are scenarios where they make the 12-team playoff! Just being in the conversation for that is insane.

Here's what I will say, were that the performance of a Texas head coach I'd be pissed.

If you think one shitty season followed by a season in which there might MIGHT be a play off chance with a loss to UNL is successful we are simply arguing semantics.

I would NOT see it as successful for Texas.

You want to call that successful for CU fine. However, I might suggest waiting for the final outcome of this season before making that call.

Yep, would probably take him with him if he moves.

Travis and Shedeur are going to the NFL next year.

I was talking about his new 5-star QB recruit, Julian Lewis. Please try to keep up.

You can be a robot like Peyton with a good football brain and an ability to break down defenses, and as long as you have a strong arm, you’ll do fine.

History is replete with athletic, really strong-armed idiots who failed quickly and miserably in the NFL as a QB because they never mastered the ability to mislead secondaries with their eyes and pump fakes - and could only lock onto their first or maybe second progression receivers.  Which could work in a college program with excellent receivers who got separation on the reg versus their less than stellar defensive secondary opponents.   Any QB could look great those programs.

And by “idiot” I’m talking football sense deficient, since we have to include the great Brett Favre and Terry Bradshaw as huge successes, and they were not known for being otherwise cerebral.

But what about the great Jeff George and his amazing arm, but retard brain?

Yes it’s a media circus and the players can act like immature jackasses…but how many off the field player issues have there been in two years?  I can’t think of one. Even if there is, we’re not at some Georgia level. Deion seems to run a pretty tight ship.

And no question the team has drastically improved since September. CU would skullfuck Nebraska now.

I'm sure Deion is keeping the lid on tight, just like Art Briles did.

Jeff George had an incredible arm combined with an average brain but a monstrously outsized ego. The most arrogant QB perhaps to ever play, the Neidelmayer of football.  He was with the Raiduhs when I lived in the Bay Area.  He was loathed by his teammates.  There was a game with Kc and he got sacked 8 or 9 times.  The sports guy did a video of each sack, and his linemen ignoring him, never offering a hand up.  That is why character counts.

No QB comes into the league prepared to play nfl level football.  Ginormous playbooks, complex reads, crazy route trees and timing schemes, unparalleled speed and power, unnerving intricate blitz schemes.  It’s why it’s a crapshoot. For every Peyton Manning are a dozen Ryan Leafs

that absolutely could be to his credit.  Or that can very much depend on the program relationship with the local university police department.

Whatever the reason in the dim reaches of time, Florida University PD has disliked the (no doubt often entitled) UF athletes - and wait for the opportunity to bust them on something.  To be fair, the mistrust and dislike of UF pd by the athletes is reciprocated.   It seems that it was always that way.

Contrast that with the Tallahassee Police Department treatment of FSU athletes.    When St. Bobby was coaching there was virtually no way his players would ever have a problem before big game no matter what the arrest or allegations.

i’m obviously not saying that all Gators were saints and all Seminoles were sinners; I’m only saying that the actions of the players can sometimes not lead to the same consequences when you have a friendly or unfriendly college town law-enforcement and local DA.

I was one of the early Dion haters and I freely admit I was wrong about the level of success he has achieved so far. To be fair to my past posts, I said once the program had a lack of success and he was criticized by the press and fans, I expected Dion ‘s personality not to handle that well. Dion is a great story when things are going well, but he doesn’t (IMO) have the ability to handle criticism in a way a high tier coach should. We have not seen that situation yet.     If he handles misfortune well, I will eat even more crow.

I had heard he was a dickhead, but I didn't know literally everyone hated/hates the guy. I remember seeing him on the sidelines and no one was around him. That makes so much more sense now. I just thought he was socially awkward, but turns out he's a monster turd. The more you know.
