The cherry on top of this whole thing is Mel Kiper melting down and looking like a complete ass.  Idiot had Sanders as his #1 QB.  I'd take Quinn over Sanders in a heartbeat and I don't think Quinn can hack it in the NFL whatsoever.

I made the mistake of watching ESPN draft coverage and 3 of the “analysts” started the broadcast making the case for Sanders at #1. Thats quite a difference in reality.

No, Prime's strategy was to build his son up with the jersey retirement.

Try to con the NFL teams into thinking he was more special than he is. Tape don't lie, though.

I mean that’s what I read at the begin Ming of last season.  I know he walked it back a bit. Tried to pull an Eli Manning but his kid ain’t Eli Manning.

It’s gonna be an Eli

Hunter can be more demanding.

Shedeur, not so much. Laughable that Coach Prime has daddy blinders on this late in the process.

Mel was crashing out like a champ there at the end.  He spent the better part of time from New Orleans on the clock to the end, including a solid 7 or 8 minutes straight after Dart was picked, trying to hype up every QB that slid and was good trying to justify his ranking of Sanders.  Director did him dirty keeping the Best Available graphic up there w/ Sanders at the top for a solid 2 minutes at least.

Deion last night: "Good!  Good!  Now you wont be locked in to a contract with a 5th year option and you can go get paid a year sooner!"

Here's your AI procured list of pre draft rankings of Shedeur

Mel Kiper Jr. (ESPN): Ranked Sanders as the best quarterback in the 2025 draft class and the 5th overall prospect on his Top-100 Big Board. Kiper praised Sanders’ accuracy, toughness, and ability to make off-platform plays, projecting him as an early first-round pick. However, Kiper also noted that Sanders’ true value might lie between picks 15-30, citing an NFL scout’s perspective.

Bucky Brooks (NFL.com): Ranked Sanders as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 class and a top prospect, emphasizing his precision, touch, timing, and anticipation as a classic dropback passer. Brooks projected Sanders as a first-round pick, potentially in the top 10, and identified ideal team fits like the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints.

Daniel Jeremiah (NFL.com): Ranked Sanders as the 20th overall prospect in his final 2025 NFL Draft rankings. Jeremiah highlighted Sanders’ outstanding touch, accuracy, and toughness but noted concerns about his arm strength and pocket navigation, suggesting a late first-round or early second-round grade.

Dane Brugler (The Athletic): Ranked Sanders as the 23rd overall prospect on his 2025 Big Board, placing him behind Miami’s Cam Ward (No. 16) as the second quarterback. Brugler’s ranking reflected concerns about Sanders’ tendency to hold the ball too long and his high sack totals, projecting him as a late first-round or early second-round pick.

Matt Miller, Jordan Reid, Field Yates (ESPN): These ESPN analysts collectively viewed Sanders as one of the top quarterbacks, with a consensus first-round projection. Miller emphasized Sanders’ pinpoint accuracy and pocket poise, while Reid and Yates noted his polish as a passer but flagged his slow release (2.96 seconds to throw, 110th in FBS) and sack issues (42 in 2024). They projected him as a first-rounder, likely in the top 10-20 range.

PFF (Pro Football Focus): Ranked Sanders highly for his accuracy, with the third-highest accuracy rate and fifth-lowest uncatchable throw rate in the FBS in 2024. PFF gave him an 86.9 passing grade under pressure, third-best in college football, but noted his non-elite arm strength and tendency to leave the pocket prematurely, suggesting a first-round grade with a top-15 ceiling.

NFL Draft Buzz: Rated Sanders as the 2nd overall quarterback with an 88.1 rating, projecting him as a high-ceiling first-round pick (likely top 10) due to his precision, processing, and poise. They acknowledged his sack issues (52 in 2024) but saw him as a franchise quarterback in a timing-based offense.

Consensus and Other Analysts:

CBS Sports (Ryan Wilson, Pete Prisco): Wilson and Prisco projected Sanders as a first-round pick in some mocks, often in the top 10, but their final mocks had him falling out of the first round entirely, reflecting late skepticism about his fit and off-field perceptions.

Yahoo Sports (Charles Robinson): Reported that among 10 NFL teams, half saw Sanders as a top-10 pick, four placed him in the mid-first round, and one had him in the second round, indicating a wide range of evaluations.

The Athletic (Consensus Board): Ranked Sanders as the 32nd overall prospect, a significant drop from top-10 projections, citing concerns about his arm strength, pocket movement, and off-field maturity.

Daft on Draft: Viewed Sanders as the top quarterback and only Day 1 starter in the class, worthy of a top-5 pick for his accuracy (76.91% weighted on-target percentage) and processing, despite sack concerns.

LOL at Mel. Goes to show how plugged in these analysts are...

Have to give credit to one, Lance Zierlein. Houston radio guy, he does the main evaluations for NFL.com. He had him ranked #63 overall.

I don't know what point you're trying to convey here because you didn't type a single word. You went the teenage girl route and just used an emoji. Even if you speak in a language other than funko pops and fidget spinners, I probably still won't be interested in what you were trying to say. So please don't mistake this as any kind of request.

How is anyone surprised that Sanders fell. Dude oozes mediocrity.

I honestly think he could end up being a good NFL QB but his vibes are just awful. He's a skilled player but he has to get over himself and learn to be a teammate first.

Man I'm trying but he's just being so unlikeable. I think he's talented enough to be good in the NFL but not likely as a rookie. He's going to need to humble himself a bit and learn from the backup spot somewhere with good coaching. Not sure he has the mindset to do that which could be his downfall.

The fact that they didn’t go to the draft makes me think at least some of his perception of reality isn’t clouded by ego. Or that Deion is still well connected to a lot of front offices.

There's a lot of bullshit surrounding Hunter, too.  That kid is really talented, but the idea that he's going to play both ways full time is laughable.  No one on planet Earth is good enough to do that in today's NFL.  But people can talk themselves into believing the bullshit because Hunter is actually extremely talented.  Shadeur ain't.  So the whole Legendary and being a diva and having his number retired despite not even winning a bowl game wears just a little bit thin.

Plugged into streaming and ad revenue needs by the mouse and other media executives. Nobody with any public influence will hold the analysts accountable so why not throw out drama value, bombastic stuff that gets clicks?

Radio guys all seem to agree he's not going to play both ways. The talk I heard yesterday morning said he's most likely to play defense and maybe some limited offensive sets in certain situations. Makes sense to me.

Yes because as we all know, backup QBs often become “good” later in their career.

Just saw an article where the Jags are saying he's starting at WR and they'll work him into playing CB.  Which seems weird because the Jags secondary is complete ass.  But I guess they've dumped so much money into Lawrence they need to have him look good.

Yeah, never seen a rookie improve over time, lol.

Havent seen a rookie start on the bench that became a good NFL QB since Romo. You act like your suggested path is reasonable.

That’s funny because I heard Daniel Jeremiah say he’d probably play WR and they’d work him in on defense.

Really bad take and verifiably incorrect. I bet about 1/3 of hall of fame QBs road pine. Maybe more, especially in the old days. Roger Fuckin Staubach was a backup as a 27-year old rookie, and he was one of the greatest college qbs of alltime.

Now teams sometimes form succession plans and draft backups as heir apparents or upside guys.

Interesting as Hunter really didn't attend receiver meetings at CU and when it came to offense it was very basic stuff and they depended upon his athletic ability to be better than the guy trying to guard him.

That sounds perfect for the NFL.

I really want this trade and pick to blow up on Jacksonville after listening to the buzz word laden crap spew out by the their 12-year old GM.

They probably think he can come in a contribute more and faster on offense.

It’s the whole circus. No matter what a person thinks of Shadeur, you’re getting the whole circus with him. I’m not even a Deion hater, but I don’t know who wants to sign up for the circus. 🤡
