I agree Kellyanne. Ones a stupid teenager who doesn’t know shit and thinks the world revolves around their mundane shit. Then there is us. And The Other you failed to mention would be 2 specific adults who should know better and are fucking sociopaths. Who apparently can’t even take away their 15 year old’s phone.

Take away a phone and do what with them, talk?

I can't get over the short-sightedness of this idiot and his followers.  How is this going to play 5 days from now when he still hasn't made any appearances other than waving from the balcony or prerecorded videos?  If he does try and do live interviews or a hate rally, how will that look if he's wheezing and coughing?  He'll either have to have test negative or violate every existing protocol concerning Covid.  He's still putting countless others at risk.  If he's just fine and already recovered, he's still got his taxes and every other issue that was crippling his chances hanging over him.  They're utterly desperate now.  It's not just a Hail Mary from their own 2 yard line.  They're down 24 points with 30 seconds left.  It's a clown show to the bitter end.

Not disagreeing, but @Goredhois on the money (probably about twenty pages back right now and I'm to lazy to search it this morning) that it is not the play on the field we need to be watching right now (cause it sucks), it's the fight in the stands. If we are facing the field, we're going to get sucker punched in the back of the head.

Do you even "Idiocracy", bro?  Remember how dumfounded they were by the ball-and-cup game and the simplest of visual spectacles?  He sucks it up for one more balcony appearance mid-week, peppered with a few video reminders of how awesome he is, maybe one more lap around Dupont circle in the motorcade...that's enough to satiate this fucking idiots for months.  They can tell their grandkids they have a DVR'd version of Trump on a balcony.  You realize the currency that carries in those circles?  He'll literally limp into a post-election court fight and his supporters will say to themselves, "Yeah, he's a fighter!  He gonna win 'dis shit!  He was up there on that balcony fighting for us!"

I'm not doubting his supporters will eat it up. The 40% aren't going anywhere. There's just no way for him to come anywhere close to winning the election.  They're at a point where it's too far gone to even steal it.  They'll just have to seize power and I'm not putting that past them.

Yeah, well. Juliet was on a balcony and looked how that turned out for her.

Does the semantics between election and fight for power matter anymore? They don’t to me. He won’t win the election, ok. That doesn’t change the fight for power imo. Be it suppression, whatever. The irony to me is that the bigger the beating the more likely they’ll say “see, this is just proof there were millions of fake ballots. Everyone knows it was going to be a close election lot a blowout. Trump is beloved by many.” Then were in the same spot.

The silver lining in all this to me is I think covid seriously could depress his turnout, and that to me means a greater upshot to flipping the senate.

The shitty part is that nothing else matters to anyone right now and the media is going to only serve us what we want to consume.  Hell even on this board which is a pretty smart corner of the Internet, Trump’s covid-19 battle is pretty much all we can talk about right now, a fact which I’m as guilty of as anyone.  Compared to last Thursday, there is not near the scrutiny on election interference/voter suppression, the President’s televised orders to white supremacists and his otherwise horrific performance in the first debate.  So we have no visibility into what’s going on around us in the stands.

The only thing I feel certain of is that what we’ve witnessed since Friday is an orchestrated manipulation by Trump and/or his team.  To what exact end I can’t fathom, but I’m sure it’s not to the benefit of most Americans.  Whether it’s all bullshit, the execution of a contingency if Trump ever caught covid-19 or just theatrical improv is immaterial.

How is pointing out that there are two different infectious diseases, one with a vaccine that Americans are too lazy or dumb to get and another without a vaccine, supposed to make anyone feel better?

Does shit like this appeal to the low iq idiots?

He's lost everyone and everything but his hardcore base. Anyone with half a working brain is out, not voting or voting for biden.

I think you guys are too deep in the echo chamber. Anyone that wasn't fully regarded MAGA is not showing up now.

You hit the nail on the head. Most of us aren't privy to the intel of what is going on around the country behind the scenes. Hell, even Congress can't get intel from their own intel person because he's corrupt. I know SCOTUS is laying the groundwork to revisit some landmark cases, and I posted the latest Obergfell (sp) news in that thread. SCOTUS and the courts are huge and they know it. It isn't just that Barrett is going to be a done deal and regardless of whether she supports any claims by Trump, the number of judges that they have put in place to execute the challenges to existing laws to cement them in their favor is now baked in. Obviously I am not a lawyer, but I have no faith in some many of these judges. Mateer (who was rejected twice) in Texas is exhibit A. Just how bad did it have to get before he struck against Paxton? And, tbh and wildly speculating, I believe it's because he saw greener pastures elsewhere to promote his agenda. They are persistent and they play a very long game. Gaining ten yards on them is pointless if you can't cross the goal line.

George Conway, and the rest of those recent converts to Bidenism have just slipped on a jacket for cooler weather. They will shed it quickly enough when they step out of the shade.

Adding: Jared and Stephen are friends and Steve B. (while out on bail), even if he's persona non grata to Trump is still giving advice as mentor so you know those guys are scrambling.

The thing Trump really loves about numbers is that you can just make up any numbers you want to support any idiotic take you have on any subject.

For instance, what's the big deal with Trump and his taxes. He paid millions of dollars in taxes last year.

There is no truth. Truth is dead. It had a good run.

And how on Gods green earth do we not have a good Hitler downfall parody video for Trump?

Kushner:  The Democrats have opened a double digit lead nationally in our internal polls.  They are winning with minorities and college educated men and women.  They are up by double digits among suburban voters.  You are now losing among voters age 60 and older.  The democrats are solidly ahead in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Florida...

Trump: The Proud Boys assault will bring it under control.

Kushner:  Mr President... the Proud Boys... The Proud Boys couldn’t muster enough men.  They weren’t able to carry out their assault...

Disagree. There is a not insignificant number of country club republicans who will still hold their noses and silently (to avoid the shame and embarrassment) pull the R lever for judges, stock market, and business deregulation.

There’s a reason Bill Barr just announced he’s going back into the office.  The shot he’s doing, he doesn’t want in email.

Nothing is quite as determined as when the honey pot he's been reaching for his whole life is just out of reach. Except his morals are not worthy of Winnie the Pooh or Po the Panda.

On a different note, get a load of this guy:

Despite having no human connection in 4+ years, Will Smith also refuses to physically connect with the last remaining female on the planet because she is Latina.  And he kills a dog.  And has a really inflated sense of himself throughout the entire film.  And he's mean to people that are suffering from a horrible disease, dismissing them as guinea pigs to be used for his own devices.  They actually have quite a bit in common.  And I hope the end part is what eventually binds them together for cinematic historical perpetuity.

Those people were never going to vote for Biden, and they were not enough to defeat Obama for two terms.

In 2016, Trump had Hillary and he had a lot of unknowns that helped plenty of fence sitters come to him, including many who had stayed home previously, or even a few who voted Obama (look at the Obama states that flipped to Trump)

Now he’s shown how he would lead, and it ain’t a good look, and Hillary ain’t on the ticket, but Obama’s VP is.

edit: and the past few days of him endangering SS agents and his staff, his breathing issues, and him downplaying it, are hard to ignore.

Counterpoint: your DT board and happy gaggle of COVID truthers over there. There's far more fully regarded MAGA folks than you'd suspect, at least in my experience.

I really doubt that the hardcore, trump-flag-flying, "blue lives matter" folks are turning a corner. I think we're just seeing them stop talking so loudly.

I Am Legend? Hahahaha. Fucking Shapiro. What an idiot. I can’t remember the movie, but the book’s ending makes clear Neville is no hero.

Neville is imprisoned by the new society for what amounted to mass murder, and realizes that he is a despised ghoul. He kills himself rather than face the angry mob. And yet, even at the moment of his greatest shame and failure, he still manages to indulge a little self-aggrandizement, proclaiming “I am legend.”

Shapiro’s metaphor is almost perfect, but not at all for the reasons the thinks. Because he’s a moron.

Sad, but true, but I think this was also the case in 2016.  I don't believe any of those Rs withheld their votes in 16 or voted for Clinton.

Hmmmm.

Twitter is full of fucking clowns. Regeneron is a company not a drug. REGN-COV2 is the drug that he was given. As I understand it (which is admittedly extremely limited), the stem cells used in the process of developing REGN-COV 2 are hematopoietic stem cells (used in the process of building the humanized mouse immune models to produce the antibodies). What a stupid gotcha attempt.

My father had a DNR order at Seton. He was taken to St. David's from his nursing facility for a blood transfusion. I was his principle caregiver, but I'd been relieved for a weekend by my family.

I got into town and called the hospital to learn he was in the ICU. He had crashed and they had taken heroic measures to bring him back. They didn't have the DNR order on file nor was I there to convey it, so no complaint about his care. The doctor told me they wouldn't have given whatever they did to bring him back.

Dad was singing to nurses and cracking wise through his bi-pap. I bet it was steroids. A few days later, he began to fade again. Five days later, he was gone.

My uneducated guess is that Trump is on his way out. His current actions are due to denial and terror on his part. He's not just trying to project strength to the electorate that he despises; he's also trying to convince his despicable self that he's strong and invincible.

My feelings about impending death have very often turned out correct. I don't know why, but they do.

I am so sorry for your loss, may your father rest peacefully.

Also, the movie is a horrible adaptation of one of the greatest science fiction novellas of all time, which is very philosophical rumination on the nature of isolation, the meaning of humanity, and how we tell stories.   Also, it totally misses the point of the story.  How Hollywood has managed to fuck it up 3 different times is beyond me.

I'm wondering how many of the MAGAts are going to show up at the polls and vote a ballot where only Donald J. Trump is bubbled in...
