i had a bigger problem with the "picked up" flags that were actually penalties

Also clear no-calls, like no PI against Eagles in the 2nd quarter, and bullshit like the blowing the whistle on offside for TCU, eliminating a big run / free play for Texas. Anyone who claims the refs weren't a factor in this game either has an agenda or wasn't watching. Texas should have won anyway but looking at flag count misses the point.

yes multiple no calls and some of our penalties weren't penalties.

Where is all this WR talent that we keep hearing about?

They're frustrating because they'll flash. They'll make big plays. Great plays. But are way too inconsistent.

Herman has plenty to answer for today, but he didn’t drop a third down pass that may have gone for a 60 yard td(jake smith), he didn’t drop a td that was in is hands(eagles), he didn’t not call dpi on eagles on a big third down, he didn’t stupidly reach the ball one handed at the 2 and fumble the lead away, he didn’t run the wrong route and give tcu an easy int and points at the end of the half(moore), he didn’t he didn’t hit duggan in the head on a third down stop, he didn’t pick up the holding flag that should have turned 1st and goal from the 1 into 2nd and long from beyond the 20.
there’s blame all over for this result.

Well put.  I agree with all of this.  Just another fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.

This times 1000.  Herman is responsible for putting these guys in a position to succeed. At some point the players need to make relatively easy plays.  Herman isn’t without fault but most of the blame for this game falls squarely on the players.

TCU is going to beat Texas next year with a more experienced qb, wr's and really, doesn't need that.  He's going to beat Herman 3 out of 4 times anyways.

His 2-3 stars beat our 4-5 stars - AGAIN!!! At home too! I think he’s 7-2 now in the B12!

Fng cockroaches were always a W, prior to Patterson. He does “sweat a lot “, but he also wins a lot, especially against us!

I am not expecting us to be perfect or even win all the games we are supposed to every year.....but we should be a good enough team that not every conference game is a nail biter.....blowing out bottom feeder teams in this conference isn't too much to ask...

This doesn’t tell the whole story.  Look at the plays those penalties were called on.

That's the problem of looking at stats and calling a game.  Refs really dictated a lot of the game. Texas could have made some plays but didn't is the other part.

When you list about 10 critical mistakes by players that could have changed the outcome, is it not fair to ask if coaching impacts the frequency of mistakes? This is like an on field version of “lack of institutional control.”

Plus the bad luck of the deflected ball on second down that went to QJ and ended up with a 3rd and 1 which was converted. Don’t recall what the result of that drive was, but it’s just an example that very little was going our way.

While correct, we pay several million dollars a year to guy to keep young guys focused, when was the last time you thought we were focused? Seems to only happen when we are major underdogs in a bowl game with a month to prepare.

Hey, we're OK. Tom just said he's confident he can fix the problems that plague this team. All is good!

That's getting to be as regular as Charlies "we just have to play better".

Truth. I’m sure Foster will be first in line to quit again

I don't blame him. The defense should all go transfer to play in real conferences.

True. But they care more about other shit that they do about doing the little things it takes to win games.

Texas runs it back for the TD!

oh no a flag looks like that is erased

Texas gets stopped, but wait, a flag on the defense. But wait again. Picked up the flag.

watch the game

I did. The refs didn't turn the ball over twice or give Duggan 2 free TD's. Or shut it down at the half. How many tackles did the refs miss?

Did they miss calls/make bad ones? Yes, that happens every game. We still had a chance to win, though. The loss has nothing to do with the refs. Solely on the football team.

As a HS official, the 1st half was “dictated” by the officials. It almost “seemed” to go against UT. Manly big plays had a flag on the play. Good call or not, it really seemed that they were “looking” to make the call on UT more so than TCU.

Many big ST and offensive plays were brought back & penalized in the 1st, compared to the 2nd. Hard to rationalize.

So 3 weeks in for the big 12 and only osu is undefeated. And next week either Texas or ou gets its second loss, both in conference.

We'll beat OU Sucks, only to shit the bed against KSU, OSU and either WV or ISU. It's the Mensa way.

We were 16 point favorites at home.  The refs didn't swing the game 18 points.

What about last week at Tech?  They may arguably not win a conference game and should have beat us.  This isn't one bad game and the refs screwed us here....

Lol.

Shut the fuck up.

The notion that the penalties called/enforced were equal proves you have no idea what you’re talking about. Just like every other subject you post on this board.

I didn't say they were equal, I said the refs did not cost us the game. There were plenty of chances to win despite the refs.

Learn to read, bitch. Or keep being a pussy and crying about how the refs cost us the game. Good teams over come shitty refs. Pussy ass teams and their fans(you) make excuses.

The refs didn’t cost us the game. We were 16 point home favorites. It’s borderline impossible for an upset like that to be decided by refs. We were a shit show today and the refs didn’t do us any favors. That’s about the best you can say
