Fuck Big 12 refs

CDC should march into the Rig12 Dallas referee office, point at that corrupt sumbitche and tell him to his face that if he doesn’t see anything wrong what those shitass refs of his did on those egregious play calls & non calls, then he himself is an unethical incompetent piece of shit coward.

And then the conference continues to fuck us over. I share the outrage, but we have no leverage behind closed doors.

This is a job for John Bianco to start working the media with video evidence of the fuckery directed at both departing schools. No one will feel sorry for us because, if you haven't heard, we're responsible for the conference realignment upheaval. The point isn't to get sympathy; the objective is to make the Big 12 a national joke because it has the shittiest officiating and everyone knows it. Let the media put the conference and its chairman on blast for engineering outcomes and being the petty pussy ass bitches that they are.

It's really hard to imagine the Big12 being so spiteful that they ruin the conference's best chance at having a playoff team, but then again it's the Big12.

So he was the member of the crew that wasn't trying to penalize us just because? I get what youre saying to a point. If it's the rule, throw the flag, otherwise why get in his face?

I mean, would you rather get a penalty or have him rush up to Quinn like a dork?  I prefer the latter.  Complaining about a ref that got into Quinn's face takes away from the main arguments that these assholes spotted a ball 10 feet ahead of where it should've been for Wyoming while constantly marking us short of the line to gain on 3rd down, stopped play to further review Quinn's TD run, stopped play to further review Wyoming being short on their 3rd down run and gave us a PI on a ball thrown out of bounds.

There was a play where Wyoming was subbing and instead of the guys jogging off when they saw who was coming in, the ref held up the snap so long that the subs jogged all the way to their position and then  the guys coming out trotted off the field...I've never seen that before. Freaking ridiculous...

If I'm not mistaken on that we never even subbed so they shouldn't have been allowed that opportunity to sub.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I thought the refs last night were more incompetent than biased. The three yard spot may have been the worst placement I've ever seen, but was way down the list of plays that could affect the outcome. The DPI was bad, but they called Wyoming for OPI in the end zone and took points off the board. Don't get me wrong, they were shitty. I just didn't get the sense they were shitty in a way that gave either team an advantage.

That OPI was irrelevant, game was decided on the field and at the sportsbook by that point.

that's the "see we call it on the other team" even it up call.  like when they finally call holding on the opponent when the game is over on a meaningless drive.

If you weren’t at the game you didn’t notice this, but on the opening kickoff we kicked it through the endzone and the refs tried to place the ball at the 35. At the last minute as Wyoming was jogging out for the first play they realized they had to move it back 10 yards.

It was incompetence from the opening whistle.

From my vantage point (east side 35YL) the non-PI call when we were on O and then PI call against us were both garbage.  There was one blatant non-holding call we had a great view of.  About half our section screamed hold simultaneously.  No call of course.  I didn't realize how bad the spot was until reading this thread.  I was thoroughly confused by the delay with subsequent "spot can't be challenged".  Why the hell not?  And why wasn't that just reviewed regardless when it was that far off.  I'm absolutely certain we've seen bad spots overruled time and time again.  I can only recall 1 potential call against us they didn't call (block in the back that was close but don't remember exact time and situation).  Just incredibly shitty officiating which is par for the course.

It's pathetic when you long for an SEC crew on the road against Bama for fair and unbiased officiating LOL.

It’s like the reply people don’t actually watch the game to catch errors, so a no gain on first and 10 who cares where the spot is.

butbwe know that’s not true in at least some cases because replay has stopped play to review if a Texas player caught a pass beyond the LOS, triggering an OPI call for downfield blocking.

and on the dpi call I expected them to huddle up and call it holding so that the ball being uncatchable didn’t matter, even though the ball had clearly been thrown before the infraction.  Nope, they didn’t care.

The block in the back was on Worthy's last punt return. Happened right in front of me, and I was shocked there wasn't a flag.

The worst one by far was in an early 90s  bowl game between FSU and Nebraska. It was at the very end of the game, and they used instant replay (before it was an official thing) to determine that Nebraska had 1 second on the clock.* After resetting the play clock, they placed the ball a full 5 yards closer for Nebraska’s FG attempt. Fortunately, NU missed it.

The live overhead shot it looked like he pushed him and then put his hands up, but the sideline replay looked like he was off balance and falling on his own, and our guy put his hands up to show that he didn’t cause that.  So I’m not sure, but also surprised that there wasn’t a call either way.

In addition to being incompetent and biased, they also trample all over the game.  The difference in the game tempo between them and the SEC refs last week was night and day.  It seems like they insert themselves at every opportunity and several times blew the whistle for no discernable reason.

Worse yet, the QB appears to have stepped on the sideline at the 13. It’s mostly obscured by the defender, but that’s what it looks like to me.

Not sure if he went out at the 13, but DEFINITELY at the 10. This was on our side of the field and we were sitting right above it. Couldn't believe that fucktard spotted the ball at the 8.

I look forward to this leftover trash can of a conference having to endure 5 hour games on ESPN the ocho.

Nope.

The worst was the 5th Down Game in 1990 between Colorado & Mizzou that gave the game to the Buffs.

Yeah I guess you never see the old shool spike with a big windup like we see all the time in the NFL, but what Quinn did was not that, and it happens all the gotdamn time in college games. Watching other games last night I was seeing all kinds of obvious taunting, poses, staredowns, and other look at me shit on plays at midfield, but now Quinn needs a talking-to because he threw the ball down?

They did the same shit to Mitchell after Worthy’s TD. Looked like Worthy and Mitchell had a pre planned celebration handshake and ref ran in and pushed Mitchell toward the sideline.

I am limiting it to misplacement of the ball.

Another bad placement by the Rig12 was in the 1996 CCG. On the play immediately before Roll Left, the refs measured for a first down. Just as the stick was planted, the ref rocked the ball back, then forward again, only the tip of the ball was a couple of inches further back. Just enough to force a fourth down.

No one is that incompetent so they are hiding the the bias as incompetence.  And they are just getting warmed up.  They will go full rapey starting with conference play.  The Baylor game will be off the charts bad.

I’m kinda ok with that one. Although that doesn’t excuse its happening.

I'll post later but the refs also missed 2 blatant delay of game calls on Wyoming in the 2nd half. They weren't even close. The ball was snapped a second after the clock hit 0.

On one of them I counted to 3 before it was snapped. Was waiting for the whistle to blow it dead…

Would love to now if they moved it back to the 25 because someone called them on it.   With the new rules, the outcomes are:

return team returns the ball

fair catch anywhere, out of the end zone, any side: spot at the 25

out of bounds: spot at the 35

i think i have that right?

it's crystal

whichever ref was responsible should take a timeout for a couple of weeks

But you can’t challenge a spot so how did it get corrected?

It'd be a damned shame if one of those guys accidentally took a hit like Mackovic during one of our games.

Administration error of the spot. No harm done and no time off the clock. I’ve seen games where at like the end of the 1st Qtr, ball spotted on the left hash, they switch fields, and the ball is now placed on the right hash “erroneously”, therefore officials TO and correct it prior to play resuming.

Just saying - it happens, just usually not on the big stage.

One of them took a solid hit late in the game late Q3, I think.  At the time, it was the best play of the game.  Just disappointed we couldn't get the jack wagon in the white cap.

Yep, I noticed that. All our guys were standing at the ball like “what the fuck is this?”
