This GOP on GOP porn is getting pretty hot.  They can still try him in the Senate in absentia, No?

they’ll be a lot friendlier to him over there.  Wonder what he’s so worried about.  Most of the evidence from AAG is out there already.  He can always plead the fifth on something personal.  Almost as is he’s worried about questions about certain real estate dealings being asked of him. Again, he can plead the fifth.

While we oscillate as Americans as use Of that right sorta making one look guilty and sorta asserting a reasonable defensive right enshrined just below guns and soldiers crashing on your sofa…………some of his former colleagues 100% view it as a tacit admission of guilt, without reproach. All that’s left to their minds to do is wonder whom or what he’ll be giving up that moment after he knows he’s fucked.

Nor incriminate himself because the Feds are coming.

This is the answer.
Making it sound like he’s defiant, when the reality is he’s trying to keep from getting buttfucked in prison. He’s a crook and a coward.

To go along with his what....3 houses in Texas? Not bad on his salary. He must have a really solid financial advisor emoji849.png

Remember last month when I said that I couldn't believe that he couldn't raise the $3M himself for the settlement and avoided all this shit?

Insert polling data showing Paxton and Trump's constituents are MORE likely to vote for him after indictment here.

I’m taking this as tacit recognition from Abbott that the trial will move ahead in the senate and will most likely end in removal of paxton from office.

WatchGuard has been bought by Motorola since then.  I haven't seen that mentioned in any of the stories.  I don't doubt he made a pretty penny because just about every law enforcement agency in Texas uses WatchGuard for car cameras and body cams which are not cheap.

Crooks all of them.

Yep.  They are all banking on (correctly) looking like the ones who took out the criminal among them, when in reality, they are all criminals.

except this feels like when a gang has to sacrifice a member who is compromising the plan/score.

I’m almost jealous. As sad and corrupt as Louisiana politicians are, I have to tip my hat to the current crew in Texas. You make our crooks look like rank amateurs.

"Texas: more crooked than Louisiana, more backwards than Mississippi, and crueler than Florida!"

Gotta tell ya, our new state slogan is not gonna jazz up my bumper sticker collection.

OK, so they've bought the judge and they're going to stack the jury and hold a sham trial that acquits him.

Can someone explain to what they're going to do when the FBI follows up with an indictment?  I mean, besides blame Biden's weaponized DOJ.

he's referring to this:

Matthew 8:15-17

15 “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’
17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

not applicable. this isn't a sin between him and his golly gee neighbor. He's butt fucking all of Texas.

Bold strategy, Cotton.  You were sold out by your former Assistant D.A.'s, your own party's state leadership, Nate Paul, Governor Abbott, and a half dozen noteworthy Mexican "Family Offices" in the real estate investment ecosystem.  And this has all been going on for about 8 years.  But it's somehow Joe Biden's fault?

That claim ain't gonna hold much water when your other eye finally pops too when you're when you're swinging from a bridge in Juarez.  You got one card here to play Ken, we both know it.  Don't you think it's about time you admitted to yourself what's going to happen.  It's no longer about you, it's who you're taking with you on the way out.

Don't you work in the sex/healthcare space?  You of all people should know, if you experience pending indickments lasting longer than 8 years, please consult your physician.

You'd be surprised what legal tricks you can pull and what promises you make and favors you can exchange to keep yourself in office under the watchful eye of Texas state security which makes you too high profile to be killed.  18 months after his detail is off once he leaves offices, his fate is far worse than anything a U.S. jail can offer.

What about it?  It's a pretty unusual case having to do with the fact that Collin County may be the most corrupt populous county in the state.

Just trying to get a legal opinion on how one is able to avoid court for 8 years.  Asking for a friend.
