I don’t know why, I really don’t….but the Republicfascists are above and beyond the law. That’s just the way it is.

That Nate Paul stuff is pretty shady, and there's no way Nate won't squeal.

No surprise, Elon Musk is a flat-out fascist. So are Abbott, Paxton, and so must be their entire governing staffs/attorneys.

Intellectual fascists/theocrats (and their apologists) are at UT, at that Civitas Institute. Hiding behind Ivy League credentials and "prestigious" universities and publishers, plus that libertarian/conservative smoke screen propaganda of "civic virtue" and "a free society" at the website. Funded with millions of dollars from the Board of Regents. No doubt the BOR has its MAGA fascists, who also aligned UT with the SEC SEC SEC fascist south.

Fascism is busy organizing, gaining economic and academic power, and ground zero is Texas, right smack in the middle of Austin, no less.

What a fucking tool.  How the Repubs turtled and did not impeach him, I'll never understand.

Look on the bright side. This action by the very-concerned-about-consumers AG's office surely means we will soon see similar actions against the shitton of misrepresentations and fraud committed by other industries in Texas. Like, say, car dealerships; oil, gas & chemical; energy conglomerates, and so on, I mean it's the AG's office, that's a respected state institution. It's not like they're just going to selectively target prosecutions to score cheap political points. That would be something that happens in a banana republic.

I still can't believe this shit, even in this current political landscape. It's even more mind bottling than the Rudy and Alex Jones storylines. Multiple indictments, and very plainly a complete piece of shit. He goes out and smashes the primary, smashes the runoff, and then smashes the general. Then gets acquitted by the senate. Come the fuck on Texas.

Counterpoint: Rig 12 officiating.

Any particular reason this was filed in Lubbock?

Paxton needs to go further to the right. I want video of dps rounding this little hussie up and chaining her to a bed. Forcing her to give birth to a freedom fetus. Then abbott / patrick / paxton can tour with this freedom fetus. Spreading the message and fundraising as god intended it !

Well, the seeming actual answer is James Wesley Hendrix. who was a Trump appointee. But before that, he was an Obama appointee and, other than doing undergrad at Chicago, is not an obvious christofascist.

Judge shopping is pretty bad when it comes to the State of Texas.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/03/politics/justice-department-texas-judge-shopping/index.html

Quote

Paxton’s office has brought 28 cases against the Biden administration in Texas federal courts, according to a DOJ brief, which said that all of those lawsuits have been filed “in just seven Divisions where local rules severely limit the number of judges to whom the cases could be assigned.” Eighteen of those cases were filed in divisions where a single, pre-determined judge is assigned all lawsuits, the DOJ has said.

Quote

Tipton presides over virtually all civil litigation filed in Victoria, Texas, including at least seven lawsuits brought by Paxton against the administration in that division. In one of those cases – concerning the how the administration prioritizes deportations – Tipton in 2021 halted the policy and ordered regular updates from the administration on how it was managing its deportations in accordance with his order.

That case is now being reviewed by the US Supreme Court, which has kept the Biden policy on pause. Tipton was appointed by former President Donald Trump and is viewed as a very conservative judge, having been confirmed without the support of any Democrats.

Quote

Hendrix, another Trump appointee, hears two-thirds of the civil lawsuits filed in the Lubbock division, which is located in northwest Texas and is several hours’ drive from the state’s biggest cities. DOJ, with its Monday request in the spending legislation case, asked the judge to move the lawsuit to DC or to Austin. The department argued that Texas’ “sole allegation related to an event in Texas is the National Board’s award of a grant to a non-profit organization in Houston.”

Kacsmaryk, meanwhile, is assigned every civil case filed in Amarillo, another division in northern Texas. The judge has ruled in favor of Texas in disputes over Biden administration’s LGBT protections and the president’s attempts to end Trump-era migration restrictions. He is now in the national spotlight for his forthcoming ruling in the medication abortion case, which could be issued any day now.

She needs to leave the state ASAP and get it taken care of.  If Paxton and company try and stop her from leaving the state, get the DOJ involved.

Paxton and the GQP want this confrontation.

It's good timing - heading into the campaign season, let's have the State of Texas trying to dictate who can and cannot leave the state and for what purposes.

If I had George Soros money and wanted to increase people in Texas voting against Republicans, I'd be running a playbook of Texas Republicans trying to make life miserable for as many women as possible.

What’s the wingnut play here?   So the baby isn’t viable and poses a serious health risk to the mother.  The woman already has 2 kids and white, so not their target black lady getting bunches of abortion trope.

Is this like this is someone who is bored of winning 70-3 on madden so they decided to try All Madden level?

Or is it as simple as they don’t give a fuck about women, unless they are unborn.

It will not surprise me to find out 20 years from now that Texas elections are being and for years have been tampered with to the tune of 10-15 points statewide. These people have already shown on Jan 6 what they're willing to do to hold on to power. They've already been exposed as drawing lines in North Carolina on the basis of race. Why on Earth should we believe that a state as urban and diverse as Texas would actually vote for Paxton with the margins we're supposed to believe he got last time around.

This, plus it sets precedent for all the undesirables.

Could the people involved get this done on a federal enclave like Camp Mabry? Or what about a foreign embassy?

Mabry is State of Texas, and even looking at a federal military base, neither she nor her husband are military (I think).

Plus, Paxton would try and have whatever doctor did it arrested - he's vowed to stop her from having an abortion.

They just need to drive or fly to New Mexico.  It's the best option.  Flying is probably best bet, since at this point, the state might try and stop her from driving out of the state.

It's got national headlines, and I like that so many outlets are using this photo

So this lady wants to have more kids and carrying this dead fetus to term would likely end that,  I assume Tucker and Alex Jones are up in arms over Paxtons clear depopulation agenda?

LOL. The hospital is engaged in shenanigans. She is perfectly entitled to the procedure. There is no legal issue here. The AG's office made very clear, especially in their fourth objection, who is to blame for this idiocy.

So, this woman is a felon?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/black-woman-miscarriage-results-felony-152114292.html

The country’s war against Roe v. Wade has taken a complicated turn in the case of Brittany Watts, 33, a Warren, Ohio woman headed to grand jury on charges that she allegedly attempted to discard the remains of her baby.

Watts was handed a felony charge after the traumatizing events of Sept. 22, when she sat on the toilet at 22 weeks of pregnancy and felt the baby passing through, according to the Warren Police Department. Watts heard a “big splash,” a detective said in court last month. By the time police responded to her home, they said the fetus’ remains were stuck in the toilet.
