I have to guess that there are more than a few attorneys who are passing on top dollar advice to the whistleblowers’ attorney. Outside of Ted Cruz, does anyone have more hatred towards them than Paxton?

Right, Biggest shitheels in Texas starts with 1. Cruz the bad luck charm (Glad he likes the Astros and not the Rangers) and number 2 is Paxton.

The field has TONS of parity -- lots of folks can be (and have been) #1 on a week-by-week basis. The Texas GOP Shit-Heel national champ is going to have something like 4-5 losses at season's end. It's like the SEC of Shit-Heel leagues.

Paxton and Abbott are doing everything they can to make this state as shitty as they can.  I don’t care that they are dancing like puppets, it’d be nice to have somebody who has some guts and isn’t scared of their own shadow.

Ah, now Ken Paxton you hooligan, go back to the King James Version and read along with me:

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Paul is talking about the self-sacrificing love for others; the love that supersedes all other gifts.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is not on the March Primary ballot, but he’s been active in the race, campaigning around the state for Republican candidates challenging some House members who voted to impeach him.

But Paxton is also mounting a different campaign effort that could have a more significant impact. He is backing challengers to three Republican judges who currently serve on the Court of Criminal Appeals, the state’s highest criminal court. It comes after those judges ruled the Texas Constitution prevents Paxton from prosecuting voter fraud cases.

  Quote

In an interview Wednesday, Paxton called the decision “ludicrous” and urged voters to elect new judges to the court.

“So the voters now have a decision. Do you want voter fraud prosecuted or do you not want it prosecuted?” Paxton said. “If you want the laws that are passed by the legislature followed, we’re going to have to have Gina Parker, Lee Finley, and David Schenck elected statewide to overcome this decision.”

Sharon Keller is no liberal. After 24 years presiding over Texas’ highest criminal court, she has earned a reputation as a tough-on-crime conservative — a staunch supporter of the death penalty with consistent endorsements from several city police associations. And yet, she and two other conservative judges on the Court of Criminal Appeals are the latest targets of Paxton and his allies in the Trump family.

This shit, along with Greg’s “minimal” $140 million military base, all goes to show that Republicans elect shitty politicians in Texas, and also what happens when you have a bunch of petty people whose careers have peaked and they have nothing else to do but try and settle scores or get attention.

Witnesses subpoenaed before Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s impeachment triallast year accused him of bullying them during the proceedings and argued they shouldn’t have to answer questions under oath, newly-released records show.

The Texas Newsroom filed a public records request for all documents files with the Court of Impeachment. In response, the Texas Senate released hundreds of pages of previously-unreleased documents that pull back the curtain on the proceedings, revealing behind-the-scenes fights between Paxton’s defense team and the prosecution.

They also show more about who was made to testify under oath — and who wasn’t.

To ensure a full and transparent public record of the historic impeachment trial, the first to take place in Texas in nearly half a century, The Texas Newsroom is publishing the document trove in its entirety. The records are in batches in the order they were received with no redactions or other additional alterations made.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued two high-profile Dallas music venues as well as the State Fair of Texas.

The lawsuits were filed against The Factory and Texas Trust CU Theatre and allege that off-duty police officers were not allowed to enter with firearms. All three were filed on February 23 in Dallas County district court, and reference a 2017 law that allows officers to bring weapons into public venues, whether they're on duty or not.

According to the law, armed, licensed peace officers are allowed to enter restaurants, bars, retail establishments, sports, and entertainment venues ”regardless of whether the peace officer is engaged in the actual discharge of the officer’s duties while carrying the weapon.”

Okay, let's all be honest...this particular political forum can get hyperbolic, overly-sensitive, extra critical, and goofy as fuck even on its best days with smart folks.  But you have got to objectively admit...he's wading into some bizarre fucking waters lately.  On the assault against judges he's worked with for decades, inane lawsuits, fighting with Senators, taking on weird cases, attacking former associate DA's.  I realize he's in survival mode, but this is beyond the pale even for him.  When Reitz left his office to work for Ted Cruz because was, and I quote, "Worried about Paxton's moral compass and Ted's office seems like a better fit", I should have known.  Somebody south of here is putting the squeeze on Paxton and he's acting out in defense.  When your choices are federal prison or the cartels, I would imagine one would start doing odd shit toot-sweet.

Does this wonky-eyed ghoul ever do anything to help the state of Texas?

you can’t post online that a place that doesn’t offer abortions in a state where abortions are all but illegal…doesn’t provide abortion services?   That gets you sued for deceptive advertising?

and encouraging an audience to exercise their right to vote is electioneering?

I’ve heard that Paxton has a lot more lawsuits planned against various localities/school districts/groups/etc. and based on just the past few weeks, he certainly seems to be ratcheting up the lawsuit machine.

I know most will disagree with me, but I think Paxton and Abbott are finally starting to get out over their skis a bit.  The candidates that they are using to try and primary other Republicans aren’t doing well (and even being exposed as carpet baggers in some cases). They are going to war against Republicans who have been elected numerous times from their local communities, and who are clearly not RINOs.  Paxton keeps getting dunked on by Cornyn, and is threatening to run against Cornyn if Cornyn sticks around, and threatening to try and derail Cornyn’s attempt at heading up the GOP in the Senate.  Paxton is trying to go to war against any and every community and local organization (government or otherwise) that he thinks is not backing him.

It’s getting hard for rural Republicans (and suburban) to ignore this stuff, especially if Paxton starts throwing more lawsuits around, and if Abbott keeps saying he’s going to force these areas to bend to his will on vouchers when they don’t benefit from them.

With a seemingly endless supply of money from wack a doo religious zealot billionaires, there seems to be no limit to the destruction these guys can do with an electorate that will thank them for it

Paxton must have some horrible humans working for him. It’s perfectly fine for a lawyer to be conservative but I imagine 99% of those lawyers don’t want to be involved in suing school districts and catholic charities. He must really be finding the bottom 1% that just can’t find a job anywhere else.

Did you watch any of the former Assistant Attorney General testimony at the Paxton impeachment trial? There’s a line of ultra-right wing fundamentalist assbags who would gladly take a job at that office.

Yeah these are not liberal areas he’s suing.  Aledo is a FW suburb and Huffman had a lot of aggy.

He seems scared that they are telling people to vote.

This. He's found a group of lawyers as cynical and power hungry as he is, and they are going on a rampage. They've got their greatest hits list of issues -- abortion, elections, immigration, etc. -- and they're going to sue anyone and anywhere that will get them in the news as the true defenders of whatever the fuck they think the MAGA crowd is up in arms about. We know (and he knows) that the actual facts don't matter as long as he gets to flex on some Facebook "news" outlet.

Fuck him. Fuck these lawyers signing on to these lawsuits. And fuck the people giving this dickhead felon a pass for all of this bullshit.

Yep. The only reason those whistleblowers left/got fired is because they started sounding alarms to save their own asses when it looked like Paxton’s bullshit might get them in legal trouble. But for that, each of those MAGA fucksticks would be in the signature blocks in all of these fucking lawsuits.

Of course he’s terrified of people voting. His whole career and all of his cronies is based on winning extremely low turnout R primaries in gerrymandered non-competitive districts. He and his preferred candidates generally only win with the crazies constituting a majority of the electorate.
