Is every fanbase obsessed with S&C coaches, or are we just special?

Expand

Strength coaches and their philosophies and training regimens dictate a lot about a team's performance. Dead legs in 4th quarters are often the result of a shitty S&C coach. Pay attention to Bennie Wylie coached teams, for example. But Wylie looks the part and has made cute videos to put out on social media.

What is this imbecile talking about? A&M players didn't know about the portal or that they could use it to follow a coach? He goes on to say that it's a "subtle way of giving them a blueprint." Next he'll send a subtle code explaining how to raise a toilet seat.

image.png.c01cecccca4e4bcc7c9de0c16c727b62.png

That word! Stop using that word! Players announcing that A&M is where they will stay does not generate excitement of a sense serial success. If anything, it shows that leaving A&M is something all the players are considering and the call is very close.

Read this note, people.  Interesting.

Covers Robinson, transfer portal stuff and some '24 stuff.

A couple of excerpts:

"The A&M players were promised a final game with Robinson and have bought into that idea. If the Aggies pulled that rug out from underneath them, it would not go unnoticed among the players. It could even be a little messy.

Various A&M players remain undecided on if they want to stay in College Station or leave following this season. There are some players in particular – who I will not name – who are thought to be goners if Robinson was abruptly let go. I am telling you, they do not think it would be good."

"I would be more worried about A&M’s 2024 recruiting class. Based on how things are going right now, I fear the Aggies are in a very precarious spot. Keep an eye on it as the three-day early signing period approaches."

Texags going from hyping Jimbo up for years to now telling their subscribers he left a mess is just so damn beautiful.

They are too damn stupid to realize they've been lied to for 25 years.

Texags has been lying to them since the late 90s.

One thing the aggies are trying to do in their new NIL agreements is a notion of a grant of rights. Even if a player goes elsewhere and makes NIL money, the money goes to the Aggie United shit. If the player doesn’t transfer the money, the aggie NIL fund is telling the players they’ll sue.

So someone somewhere is supplying Hamm with some legit info about the idiotic and desperate shit the aggies are trying to do in order to plug holes in the leaking dam.

Expand

I'm sure this will go over well with recruits and transfers.

Man that would be suicide the moment that became knowledge that opposing coaches were aware of. Sark, Saban, Kiffen, Smart, Venables, and Kelly would absolutely nuke them.

This is greatness.   Another collective just needs to structure an agreement with indemnification for any losses with guaranteed representation from a friendly attorney pro bono.  Let those fucking idiots "sue" a former athlete and see how that goes for them.  Please let this happen.

Same thing will happen when schools try to block a transfer. A player will bitch on Twitter and the school will change their position.

All this will amount to is bad PR.

I never thought there would be something so stupid that I’d think they can’t be that stupid.  This is it, though.  No NIL expectant player would ever go to aggy knowing that’s the deal. There’s no way they are that stupid…are they?

that’s like a non-compete clause where instead of not being allowed to work elsewhere, you have to give them your earnings. Good luck in court with that.

This whole thing is just beyond remarkable. The football program is being held hostage by a potential mutiny from whichever mercenaries haven't already portaled because they can't relieve a position coach of his interim head coaching duties in an absolutely meaningless bowl game. This is the same coach who has already taken another job (for less money, btw) and is actively recruiting both off the current A&M roster and from their verbal commitments.

I gotta hand it to them. Even for A&M, this is as an impressive of a self-inflicted nut kick as I've ever seen. But it's all gonna be okay because their collective is putting out tweets every time one of the current roster members holds them up for more cash and they are able to meet the demand. That's how you control the narrative, apparently.

I could have made up about 100 different hilarious scenarios on how an aggie coaching change would go down, and there is no way that I could have come up with something this embarrassing.

Expand

They've successfully met a whole two demands!

If I could explain the who and the how on this one, you’d all laugh your ass off and absolutely believe it.

If an agent scratches that language in the new deals, the aggie NiL folks do cave, apparently.

As it relates to Nolan, remember what I said about the house in The Woodlands. It’s going to take a big package to justify them letting themselves get kicked out. I assume no other program is stupid on that level, so he’ll be back and flashing for a fifth of the defensive snaps every game in prep for his 5th round selection in the 2025 draft.

Also, Texas had zero interest after confirming their suspicions after one phone call with the Nolan camp.

There is only one school and one coach crazy/petty enough to try and pull that off and it would be great internet comedy seeing reactions. Ole Miss. haha

These idiots have dug themselves such a big hole starting with firing Jimbo and everything after from the interim HC, new HC, recruiting, and player attrition. It's like watching someone pour gasoline on themselves and then lighting a match.

Sounds like an unconscionable contract.

Unless you are guaranteeing 4 years of pay, how can you give away 4 years of grants of rights and the contract he remotely fair?

Couldn't get playing time at Georgia and wasn't even a full time starter for an atrocious offense like Miss State. 1 reception for 18 yards at Miss State. Maybe he can block.

They are leaking like a sieve, anything to gain some "momentum" in recruiting. IMO

Plus to outsiders it makes them sound like our little brother, similar to Michigan St, Miss St, Oregon St, Washington St, Mobliehome St, etc.

And…demotes A&M to the podunk ag school of Texas, the reality they have been desperately trying to change for years.

I mean, they claim the A&M no longer stands for what it stands for, despite the constant bragging about the engineering dept, the hall of champions being full of meat judging trophies, plus multiple courses in chicken farming & other forms of animal husbandry.   You know, agricultural and mechanical focused studies.

Show some respect.  That dude in the middle isn't just judging some quality meat, he is hammering some really really heinous Aggie pussy so that someone else doesn't have to.  Doing a lot more than just "Ag Science".  We should be thanking him.  But not that little dude on the right.  he scares the shit out of me and I'm 87% sure he has killed one or more puppies.
