I'm impressed that any aggy has seen The Godfather. I'm also impressed that he liked the movie so much that he chose a minor character to be his avatar.

Well, the guy was dumb and loyal, so it fits.

I take it you've never read the Mario Puzo novel. Luca Brasi was not a minor character.

No one reads or uses literary characters for avatars or handles anymore. It’s all about Reddit and TikTok.

No shit they liked the old model better, but only because there were fewer competitors. Now that everything is above the table their willingness to cheat is no longer an advantage.

Cushing was one of the guys cited in the Northwestern hazing report if I remember correctly.

Better than the last guy, but that is a bar so low that it is a worthless barometer. HerbHand-ish might be a solid comp, but Herb put guys in the league...

Correct - Cushing was implicated in the hazing/racism lawsuit brought by former players at Northwestern.

The model to help aggy be successful hasn't been invented yet.

FedEx packages when others weren’t as willing to do it worked pretty well for them, within their context.

More SEC rejects with no Texas ties.

That can't defend 4th & 31.

Another quality hire! Tickle Me Elko assembling a world class staff or something like that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

In the wake of devastating home loss at to Mississippi State, Ole Miss has announced that its parted ways with defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff, per Rebel Grove’s Chase Parham.

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has watched the Rebels play defense over the past two seasons. Ole Miss finished 113th in defensive S&P+ in McGriff’s first season and rank 109th in this year. The unit never gained its footing under McGriff’s watch, looking slow, out of sorts, and unable to execute game in and game out. There is no hiding that the defense has been an issue for the past three seasons, it was on full display for the entire nation to see for 12 weeks in 2018.

McGriff is such a retread. Had 3 different stints at Auburn and held 11 jobs since 2010.

How do you get fired 10 times in 13 seasons? Not even Shawn Watson managed that.

Reading between the lines it sounds like McGriff is a major asshole and difficult to get along with.

The reason McGriff was moved to an off-the-field role at Auburn is apparently because he and the DC didn't get along. Auburn had already found his replacement with Charles Kelly.

TexAgs will eat that up. No more soft culture! Manly manfulness all around! Elko knows what he's doing!

I'm trying to think of anything that Elko has done that has impressed since his hiring. Not the coaching staff. Not recruiting. Not portal. Not shitting on his Duke players on the way out. That button is the most impressive thing we've seen so far, I guess.

A think technically that would be “Not Not shitting n his players on the way out,” or just “shitting on his players on the way out.”

They're 21 after this and 11th in the SEC. They'll have to keep Bussey or they'd fall to 27th and 14th. They're currently in a group featuring recruiting heavyweights like Tech and Wisconsin. If Bussey leaves then Mark Stoops will have a higher ranked class than Mike Elko.

The funny part is 2 of their top signees also seem pretty questionable.

Ivy is coming off a major injury and Texas didn't seem to have much interest at all. None of the big programs in Ahfua's region really had interest. Based purely on circumstances and how other schools acted these two are probably ranked too high.

Apparently the number one criteria for hiring a coach at A&M is that they have an incredibly punchable face.

Lsu has taken what 5 or 6 from them so far with bussey maybe to come?  And still I bet they think at least it’s not Texas.

Sips are steering croots to LSU to keep them from TAMU. Long game.
