Arkansas has improved more in one COVID-affected offseason than Texas has in nearly 4 years. They've still got major issues but compared to when the coaches took over their respective programs it's a close call. And Pittman is 3 games in.

Pittman is an OL coach and at least knows the importance of that position group so inclined to say yes he is. He probably works harder than Herman as well.

The list of head coaches better than Tom Herman is as long and distinguished as John Holmes’s johnson.

Had a great reputation in the early years, as it turned out was just smeared in shit....

As someone that has never heard of Sam Pittman:

yes.

Pittman coached OL at Georgia... first season as Arky Head Football Coach

Pigs OL is already much better than TEXAS OL and Pittman didn't have spring practice due to Covid

So sick of this crap. Baylor did it, Arkansas did it... why can't Texas hire a good head coach??

Because we refuse to hire urban Meyer even though he would absolutely come here at the right price. But I guess that’s for another thread

I had never heard of the rule that you can't spike it to kill the clock if you bobble the snap before this year and I swear this is at least the 3rd time I've seen it happen this college football season.

Both have done it twice since we last did it.

Baylor lost Rhule to the NFL. Much less likely Texas would lose a good head coach in the same fashion.

I'm pretty sure Sam Ehlinger would make for a better head coach, as would Sam Malone, Sam Jackson, the Son of Sam, Sammy Hagar, Sam Elliott, Sam Cassell, Sam Kinison, and quite a few other Sams I'm leaving off the list.

We got lucky on this once during that terrible 27-0 win against North Texas a while back. Simms was hit in the back (on a 3 step drop nice work OL) and his arm was moving forward relative to his body. Except the ball went backward relative to the field.

Yeah that was visible live and even more obvious on review. Whistle did blow but looked like Arky had a fairly clear recovery. And they didn't say anything about that.
