2020 World Series - Dodgers vs Rays

Rewatching the last play from the camera behind the plate, an argument can be made that Arozarena only scored because he fell down. He was going to be thrown out if it was a normal play. But when he tumbled, Muncy saw him at the last second right as he was about to throw. He yanked the throw low and left, indicating that he may have been trying to hold onto the ball at the last second because the runner fell down. That low left throw caused Smith to try a quick catch/swipe move because he didn't know about the tumble.

I would think it would be rather exhausting being the only fan base in America who three years after said championship is still having to defend it...that's the legacy.

But if you guys want to go with funny, sure...go with it.

It was panic from the moment Phillips hit the ball.

Nobody's defending it, we're saying you're crying about it but the championship still stands. That's not even arguable. They cheated, they won the championship, they got their punishment, they still have the championship. There's nothing to debate.

There's no asterisk on it, it's just a title. Like the Giants' 1951 NL pennant, like LSU's 2019 national championship, like every national championship Oklahoma ever won. They cheated, they won, they got caught, they still have the title. The end.

Between that play and the first three games of the ALCS it’s like we’re in a simulation that has preordained the Rays as WS champs. Like you could be tied with them in the bottom of the 9th and your clean up hitter could hit a ball 120 mph at 28 degrees and it would hit a pigeon in center and fall into the CF’s glove.

That wasn’t Jansen’s fault at all.

Hey SB, glad you are ok and not giving up.  Sorry yah just went thru that kick-in-the-nuts ending.

Great news, it's now a best out of 3 series and The Dodgers are the better team.

Probably 7 out of 10 tries this Dodger team beats the Rays -- and yah still have at least 2 more 2020 World Series games to watch... 😁

The trophy is in Houston and the players have the rings. You can want an asterisk next to it but there isn't one. Cry more.

There most certainly is. But you please feel great about your only WS chip being a cheating one.  Anyway, there’s a thread for that.  I’m going to bed

lol @ LA Dodgers. Great defense you little crybaby bitches.

Cry babies? This game had nothing to do with crying or babies. This is just two teams who didn’t cheat at all, just going out there trying to win a legitimate World Series. But that’s for a different thread. We don’t need to bog down this thread with Astros fans who are trying to project their insecurities into this world Series for some weird reason.

Why would he think about pulling back a throw if he saw the runner fall? That’s even more reason to throw it home, Arrozconpollo was dead in his tracks. The throw wasn’t the problem anyway, Smith should’ve handled it.

Such a meltdown. No fewer than 5 fuckups in 1 play. 1. Jansen throwing a 1-2 meatball 2. Taylor inexplicable bobble 3. Taylor panics and can’t make a strong throw home from shallow right field 4. Muncey yanks his relay throw 5. Smith can’t handle a very catchable throw.. Take away one of them and the Dodgers win the game and probably the  World Series. SMDH

I forgot to add a 6th fuckup. Jansen pouting on the mound instead of hustling to back up home plate

I agree that the Astro talk doesn't really belong in here, and that game was fantastic as a fan of sports in general.

I'll just posit one point to ponder... Why is there virtually zero animosity from Astros fans towards Tampa... you know... the team that actually defeated our beloved heroes?

You know the answer, the Dodgers have some bitchass motherfuckers on their squad.  Bitchasses that make Helobious seem reasonable.

Wait, El oh el? Is that English? Is it code for “damn you’re right. I speak for most of our fanbase when I say we’re all so unbelievably insecure that we can’t even go into a World Series thread that has absolutely nothing to do with us without defending our team...our team that nobody was even talking about”

Because if that’s what it’s code for, I respect your honesty. That takes a lot of guts. If that wasn’t what you meant, I’m lost.

Now can we get back to the World Series? Not sure what the Astros have to do with this series, at all.
