Toronto wanna pay us back with an OF? They have too many now

Brantley will most likely primarily DH for Toronto. They still have an extra outfielder they can move but will most likely be looking for pitching which we really can't provide.

Passan says Brantley has not signed with TOR.  May still do it, but nothing has happened yet
I'm shocked he has time to quit jerking to Jared Porters dick pic to tweet about stuff

I don't think Brantley was ever really in play, especially on a 3 year deal. He'd require too many DH at bats. It was ok last year with Alvarez hurt but those ABs aren't there this year. They need everyday outfielders.

Two years for Pedro Leon to develop.

No he'll be sooner than that. He's 23 already, if he performs as expected they will fast track him.

What is Leon league play equal to this past year to the Minors. A-AA-AAA?

The Cuban league is probably somewhere between AA and AAA. He will probably start at AA, and try to get acclimated to every pitcher throwing in the mid 90s. What he does do is likely put a cap on any deal for a CF. Maybe you get away with Tucker in CF for a season and a half. Maybe you sign Marisnick for insurance, and give a one year deal to Rosario to play RF. He changed the calculus of the OF for the Astros, and why they are probably only wanting 1-2 year deals.

JBJ on 1 year deal with a team option for a second is my preference

yeah, i'm leaning towards a defensive cf type.  if he hits, great.  if not, bat him 9th and hope for the best.  with uncle mike back, our 1-6 is solid.

Former Astros reliever Chris Devenski is in agreement with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a minor league contract, a person with knowledge of the deal said on Wednesday.

Devenski can earn $1 million if he makes the major league team. The deal is pending a physical.
