Greg, why don't you go after the white supremacist gangs that deal meth all throughout the state? Haven't heard of a single initiative on that.

So pathetically transparent

On the one hand, probably still trying to catch Trump’s attention, all the while nobody around Abbott will tell him the truth - that Trump doesn’t like people in wheel chairs around him.

On the other, and this is completely anecdotal, while dropping my youngest off this morning, I talked to one of the other parents, who is a staffer for a legislator, and she mentioned that her Republican counterparts are “concerned” about some down ballot races that they think Trump is putting into play.  And this was before todays “animals” comments. She said there is some scrambling over finances, donors are being asked to pony up directly to the Texas organizations and even to individual campaigns,  and not Trump Co., and that Abbott seems to give no fucks about the down ballot folks.

Doing stupid shit so that his base can masturbate to stupid shit. This dude can't roll his ass out of office fast enough.

1. His buddies hold up border bill.

2. Install razor wires as a publicity stunt.

3. Idiot base goes crazy. Republican voters are god damned idiots.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/texas-new-mexico-border-wire-b2615743.html

In an effort to prevent migrant crossings from the southern border, Texas installed a razor wire along its border with New Mexico, not Mexico — upsetting the southwestern state’s governor.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced on September 14 that his state would be “TRIPLING our razor wire border barriers to deny illegal entry into our state and our country.” However, rather than installing the razor wire along the Rio Grande river bank that faces Mexico, KTSM on Tuesday captured footage of Texas Army National Guard troops installing it along a bank that faces New Mexico.

This newly-laid barrier extends from West Paisano Drive to the Texas side of the Anapra, New Mexico, according to the outlet.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, a Democrat, told The Independent in a statement that Republican Abbott’s latest move was a “political stunt” that will have “will have no meaningful impact on our nation’s broken immigration system.”

The Texas governor “seems to be pushing to make Texas its own country without regard for his neighbors or the fact that Texas is already part of a great nation—the United States,” Lujan Grisham said.

She continued: “If he doesn’t think that New Mexico is important to the overall well-being of Texas, then he must be forgetting about the Permian Basin and the oil industry that straddles our two states. I don’t see him laying concertina wire there.” The New Mexico governor then urged Congressional Republicans to “stop holding up the carefully negotiated, bipartisan agreement they are deliberately stalling in Washington at the expense of our entire nation.”

Republicans small donor base will continue to erode and the sugar daddies will disappear naturally(death). Yet, there’s always a new one (Elmo).

Democrats embraced small donors but risk it with way too many fucking emails that shows how absurdly terrible their marketing/comms dept can be between sharing lists for states I’m not in, looking like phishing emails and not warming up IP addresses, doomsday messaging, and shitty grammar and punctuation in subject lines. One of these problems is easily fixable and a target of AI for marketing interactions.

If/when Republicans lose Texas I dont know how they get it back. The presidential elections are closing the gap like crazy. My only worry is how bad a brain drain is going on now which last I saw was around 500k. Having 5 metro areas makes our state so unique and expensive.

As much as some look at the Valley to get an idea of how Hispanics vote statewide, you completely ignore they are rural, religious population and the Houston suburbs have a higher number with different values than the entire Valley.

Harris County, with old balls Whitmire and Chris Hollins’s brain can absolutely fuck shit up now, and I expect them to do something to catch TX Republicans flat footed and they (R) will need the courts to say “nuh uh” to a new feature. I’d expect an email campaign for IRS refunds to send notifications with a link to a print out site or something similar. Still waiting on numbers from motor vehicle registration as well.

So we are putting up barriers between Texas and New Mexico, we have state legislators who want to prosecute women who leave the state for abortions, others who want contraception banned, and others who want to destroy public education.

How else can we show how stupid we are, because there's nothing more that businesses want than a bunch of assholes who are trying to turn us into The Handmaid's Tale?

Gov. Greg Abbott hosted the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) at the Governor’s Mansion Monday, as the group of financiers seeks entry into the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

“Texas already has become the home of capital in the United States of America,” Abbott said. “Today, we are staking a claim as a home of capital markets with the addition of the Texas Stock Exchange.” The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) will operate from Dallas as a “national exchange offering global access for companies to list and trade their shares,” TXSE Group Inc. founder and CEO, James Lee, said.

Pending approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission, the first trades will be executed at the end of 2025, with listings launched in early 2026. Once established, the TXSE will face competition from other major stock exchanges like the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.

“With those first trades and listings, Dallas will become a new hub for capital markets in the United States,” Lee said. Abbott called the announcement “transformational,” adding that the state is already an “economic juggernaut.” Abbott said that only seven countries have economies larger than Texas.

The only time Ive lost real money on the stock market is using filters and buying Chinese stocks. Lots of bullshit.

Im not sure how much discooperation will occur between the SEC and this exchange but any business that moves to the Texchange will seem suspect to me.

Good thing that there's no natural disasters in Tennessee, Georgia, or North Carolina that could use some engineers.  This is a total "LOOK AT ME DADDY TRUMP I'M DOIN STUFF 'BOUT THE BORDER!"

cutting off river access for the landowner. I don't know, maybe the landowner is the state, but very little land adjacent to the Rio is state land. I think about 70% is privately owned, a little is federal (Big Bend National Park, some BLM land,), and maybe a quarter state owned.

Oh yeah, plus I forgot that if you're a Republican politicians, you have to pay Trump if you want to have pictures made with him.

All previous Republican candidates would be happy to take their picture with you and have you publicize it locally.  But not Trump.
