I get that but if this dirty fuck is running without us knowing just how dirty he is then we're beyond fucked.  I'd rather him not be POTUS in 2020 and never go to jail than serve 4 more years and then be arrested on his oversized death bed.

Pubs will be declaring that the statute of limitations absolves them from any wrongdoing.

I understand the need for patience, but if in the fall of 2020 Trump is standing up there on the debate stage, while we hear “Mueller is closing in! Jr and Kush to be indicted soon!” I’m going to.... well I won’t do anything. But I won’t be happy!

Hello Emoluments Clause.

Fairly certain that will be investigated in the Oversight Committee led by Cummings.  He's been catching shade and roadblocks from the White House on all sorts of issues since the transition.  He's pissed and no stone will go unturned, and he has subpoena power now. That investigation deserves it's own thread when it gets going, going to be awesome.

If the Dems didn’t make a hard and fast push to remove Trump in quarter one of this year, they never will.

The Dems have clearly opted for the slow bleed approach which will go on until election season.

The only thing that can get Trump removed is if Republicans come crawling to Pelosi begging to impeach Trump.  There is a better chance of an asteroid destroying the earth before that happens.

And the Mueller report won’t matter as far as removing Trump but it could have election consequences.

To find and convict every single fucking American involved, regardless of how long or how much money it takes.

And what a glorious day it will be when we can all stand vindicated and reveling in the glory of his downfall, perched above the ashes of what used to be a great country.

We need to find every witting traitor and grifter.

Most of America was unwittingly involved in this conspiracy including the media and posters on forums like this which enthusiastically propagated stolen emails without hesitation.

Little did we know we were doing the work of the Russian Government.

Trump going around saying it wasn’t Russia didn’t help either.  It’s almost like he’s been working on behalf of the Kremlin the entire time.

This guy is a perfect example of the modern Republican Party. Completely corrupt, making millions off the government tit, a complete hypocrite, and a financial criminal.

Hail to the modern day GOP! Trump and his criminal organization is what we worship and if you don’t like it, we’ll worship the enemies of our country too!

So fuck your feelings!

not completely but again, if we're receiving a report that trump is crooked as shit in 2022 then what was the fucking point?

Having a full and truthful accounting of events is extremely valuable. Think of how valuable having the Watergate tapes have been to our overall political system. They give us a touchstone into how corruption can work and how to craft regulations and checks against power to prevent the same thing from happening. Even if Donald gets away without impeachment and resignation, future legislators could use what they learn from this to shore up holes in the ethical framework of the presidency.

An autopsy is very useful even though it doesn't save that one person's life.

But wouldn't they then just subpoena him to testify anyway?

Yes.  But it would probably have to be for a date in the future (not sure how long you have to wait with a congressional subpoena, but there are typically notice requirements with a subpoena).  And then by the time the issue of whether Whitaker has to comply with the subpoena makes its way through the courts we'll have AG Barr.

This is the key issue.  A congressional subpoena can be disobeyed without consequence for a pretty long time.  They aren't "self-executing" in the way a judicial subpoena is.

helpful thread here

Hey now, don't forget the big questions that need to be posed to Matt:

1) Do you spell it "ketchup" or "catsup"?

2) What was your favorite bar when you attended Iowa?

3) Is it true that Kirk Ferentz thought you were a pussy?

4) Costco or Sam's Club?

So, what's the disincentive for Congress to say "fine, we won't subpoena you," they get him to show up and testify (poorly and dishonestly, surely), and then say "because you weren't negotiating in good faith, fuck you, here's a subpoena for the rest of it?"  He's a fucking snake, there's no reason to keep your word.  Tell him what he wants you to say, then fuck him.

Absolutely, that is exactly how his hero Trump has done things his whole life.  Keeping your word means nothing.  Operating in good faith, what the hell is that?

Go ahead and play by their rules.  Bullshit, manipulate and lie lie lie.  They have no conscious.  You just can't fight that being straight up and honest.
