The Robert Mueller Investigation

With senators greenlighting the firing of Sessions after the election if I were in Mueller's position I would have an up to date report and a stack of indictments ready to go on election day just in case.

Simplest explanation is that if he starts firing people before the election, Senators are concerned that it will definitely put the Senate into play.  I think some of them know the House will flip

If he fires Sessions before the election, People like Ted Cruz won’t be running on NFL players taking a knee, they will be running on one issue only - Trump trying to keep himself from being investigated.  Something like firing Sessions could easily cause people like Ted to lose

And if the Dems get both chambers, they will be more than happy to pull back the curtains on all of the Republican shenanigans.  All of them.

I didn't know this thread was about Hillary Clinton.

When a soldier is in his last ditch after being forced from position after position, he must have something immutable on which to believe so he can go on defending the indefensible. He must cling to it like a religious zealot adheres to his god.

Hilary Clinton is so evil that she is worse than Trump or any person in the world (forgive the redundancy, kind reader). Evil!

Put another bullet in the Mauser and scowl over the earthworks at the swarming libtards. This muddy ditch is forever mine, you bastards! Show me your worst!

Never surrender!

Shittiest mafia ever. Trump should be the one paying guys like Stone off or making them shut their traps.

One hundred and sixty four pages in and OnBoard thinks Robert Mueller is investigating Hillary Clinton.

This tells you all you need to know about the level of political awareness Trumpkins possess.

I think it’s different than that. For decades they have been told (and they are convinced) that Hillary Clinton was a criminal mastermind and was immune from justice because of politicians appeared to be above the law. Trump’s apparent guilt is not surprising to them; it’s the fact that he might be held accountable is what is shocking to them. It seems so unfair.

The wheels are coming off for everyone else, but Trump isn't going anywhere, because of Paul Ryan and Bob Goodlatte. Nothing will happen to Trump unless Democrats control the House. Nothing.

Even then getting 2/3 of the vote is unlikely.

Right now the count is 18.  That’s how many Republican Senators it would take to remove Trump from office.

It’s not going to happen this year but the dynamics could significantly change over the next six months.

I could see a handful of Republican Senators voting to remove if the political consequences of not voting to remove are bad enough.

I have to admit I'm going to find it entertaining when Trump is impeached and then goes to the Oval Office next day. Twitter will be aflame. Do we still teach civics?

The democrats aren’t going to impeachment Trump right away if they take the House.

They will hold a shitload of hearings on the impeachment topics first to give the appearance of due process. These will be public and politically damaging.  Think Benghazi hearing cranked up to 11 except not bullshit.

If done the right way, these hearings should have enough influence on public opinion to warrant removing Trump from office.

Then articles of impeachment will be voted on in the House judiciary committee.  They will pass to the house where only a simple majority is needed. It will pass.

The next step is a trial in the senate.

This where I think Trump will be given an opportunity to save himself and resign.

And by then, Trump will resign saying that he did so well in office that he doesn't need to continue. They have already been raising those trial balloons.

The wildcard is the Mueller investigation which isn’t included in my prediction of events over the next 6-9 months.

Attorney for Michael Cohen backs away from confidence that Cohen has information about Trump’s knowledge on Russian efforts

An attorney for Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former lawyer, is backing away from confident assertions he made that Cohen has information to share with investigators that shows Trump knew in 2016 of Russian efforts to undermine Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Lanny Davis, a spokesman and attorney for Cohen, said in an interview this weekend that he is no longer certain about claims he made to reporters on background and on the record in recent weeks about what Cohen knows about Trump’s awareness of the Russian efforts.

Davis did not rule out that his claims were correct but expressed regret that he did not explain that he could not independently corroborate them, saying that he now believes he “should have been more clear.”

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, other high Crimes and Misdemeanors, or upon influencing the opinion of the mob enough to go along with it while giving the appearance of due process."

The bold part is the strategy Trump and the GOP are running to keep him from getting impeached.  It’s a full blown cover up and PR campaign in plain sight.

According to reports, Jared was questioned twice by the Mueller team.  Once was the week before Flynn plea back in November 2017.  The other was in April 2018.

The dynamics could shift to a turning point at any time where Trump remaining in office is a clear and imminent criminal and national security threat.  He won't last 6 months, let alone 6 weeks if and when that hits.  The do nothing GOP simply will not be able to persist under those circumstances.  As of last week, trump is an un-indicted co-conspirator.  Charges for Roger Stone and DonJr seem imminent.  A true turning point is just a step away.

Recall from May:  The FBI has obtained wiretaps of a Putin ally tied to the NRA who met with Trump Jr. during the campaign

"When José Grinda, a Spanish prosecutor who spearheads investigations into organized crime, was asked if he was concerned about Torshin's interactions with Trump Jr. or other American political figures, Grinda replied: "Mr. Trump's son should be concerned."

When the first Trump kid gets perp walked, set your watch.

We're way across that particular Rubicon and the only pushback in the GOP is a few people sitting on the backbenches muttering under their breath.

Publicly, really we aren’t there yet.  We ain’t seen nothing yet.

One thing that is strange to reconcile and lends support to the belief nothing really bad has happened is if treason, for instance, is active and ongoing, why wasn’t the whistle blown long ago ?  Quite the balancing act to endure ongoing daily harm and destruction in the service of an orderly,  lawful, and massive mob style takedown.

It appears Roger Stone has been notified by the special counsel’s office he’s about to be indicted.

From my understanding, prosecutors give the target up to a two weeks courtesy notice they are about to be indicted.
