Mueller seems like the kind of person who would want to see this investigation to the bitter end. He is also intensely focused on the WH and the Trump campaign.

At some point you have to call it a day and file the report. There appear to be endless rabbit paths to pursue with this bunch and all of the people associated with them.

The good news is that he’s handed a lot off to SDNY. He seems very focused on very specific areas.  And he’s already sent people to prison

I guess you missed Charlottesville.

Oh, I’m sure he misses it a lot.
He misses MAGidiots taunting native Americans with chants of “build the wall.”
He misses Hispanic students being taunted in their own schools.
It sucks that all that fun is happening, and he can’t get in on it.

Mueller’s denial, according to people familiar with the matter, aims to make clear that none of those statements in the story are accurate.

I think this lends support to the notion the BF authors got willfully played.

And if they did, the schemers were banking on SCO remaining silent, as it has for so long, and having others (House) hang themselves on the faulty info.

SCO speaking now carries a lot of weight, as opposed to had it been responding to every  false alarm.  It’s also worth noting that all those past false alarms likely didn’t have the ‘professional hand’ that this one may have.  Remember that.

Yep. And if it's gone on this long for a specific area (specific persons of interest), you'd think that there would be quite a bit of evidence.

Sure, but that was a couple years ago. Perusing these threads makes one think something is imminent, but it never seems to happen. It’s been mostly ho-hum.

This has been my thought.

Interestingly you now have trump himself touting the credibility of the mueller investigation.

Yea it never seems to happen. Expect when the Nazi’s killed someone. Or when they attempted to have another rally this year that was shouted down by a much larger counter protest

You should seriously get more than 4-5 hours of sleep a night.   Hell, I’ve been up late the past few nights with first one kid and the other being sick,  but even I couldn’t muster the energy and enthusiasm you seem to have for this stuff.

Seriously Hugo, you are now arguing the Dems don’t want to hold Trump responsible.   Think about that.

You are arguing this a day after some Dems in Congress starting getting stiffies for starting up impeachment proceedings.

And you are arguing this after spending the past year telling us how great Schiff is, and how tenacious he will be in going after Trump.

Get some fucking sleep and stop with the “Dems want to let Trump off” bullshit, especially when you’ve spent thousands and thousands of posts laying out how the Dems are going to stop Trump.

Yeah, you’re probably half right.  I’ll get some sleep and thank you for your concern.

Im just sick of watching the democrats get walked all over by russia and the republicans.

They don’t know how to fight or win and it’s depressing.  They’re not much better than the Republicans hiding away and hoping this storm passes.

Sad!

Nancy Pelosi. Look her up sometime.  She’s not being walked all over.  I never cared for her before, but she’s the perfect foil for Trump.

And Schiff and the others will handle their business just fine.

Don't post thousands of times tell telling how the Dems and Mueller are going to run a train on Trump, and then in the span of a few hours reverse course.

Reverse course?  I’ve been pretty consistent on what should happen vs what I think will happen.

Trump is finished... it’s just a matter of time. However, I think the democrats could do more to minimize the consequences of Trump.

Nancy Pelosi is a badass but she could be better.  She’s the best we got and that’s not exactly reassuring.

You are right.  They only have one shot at Trump.  And if it centers around collusion or being an agent of Russia it will need to be a clean kill shot.

This is the salient point that is often overlooked. It’s like the Kavanaugh confirmation. There were numerous reasons he should not have been confirmed, but as soon as the sexual harassment story became front and center... nothing else mattered. I called it at the time that if Kavanaugh made it through the sex assault inquiry, his confirmation was guaranteed because all the other legitimate reasons would be forgotten. The wad was shot, and there was no chance of getting him on the “lesser” (lesser in the public minds, that is) offenses.

It’s the same with Trump. Any other president could’ve been impeached for a number of things he’s gotten away with, but we have collectively gone all in on Russia-or-bust. If Mueller doesn’t bring down the full hand of God on Trump, there will be no impeachment, and we will have to wait until 2020 to vote him out. The Senate/Rs will be able to deflect any inquiry into emoluments etc by shouting “NO COLLUSION!” and the House/Ds will need a year or two of inquiries to build the case for impeachment on the “lesser” crimes.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the special counsel’s office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony are not accurate”

I dunno.   This can be read many ways.  A simple bitch slap of a false story that Mueller does not want taking wind from his sails.   Or, some slick shit that worked out exactly like Mueller  wanted  - getting Dotard to co-sign Mueller's integrity and accuracy.  Which was well played, as he knew Trump would jump on this and trumpet Mueller's statement as absolute unimpeachable proof -  without thinking how that helps Mueller.

And maybe it is the lawyer in me, but there is a shit ton of wiggle room in the bold parts of the statement.  So, is he blessing the general statement of Trump suborning perjury - but not the specifics??  I mean, is he saying that the story is wrong about 10 Cohen meetings with Mueller... because it was only 8?   Or, they only have confirming texts - but not emails - so the 'characterization of documents and testimony' is not accurate?

I can see the Buzzfeed story being a complete bust, or close to truth on a sensitive matter still under investigation, and Mueller does not want the Press interfering with his investigation and getting to witnesses before he does.

I'm no fan of trump or guiliani but I don't follow the concern about these arguments.  Why wouldn't someone present both positions - that an event didn't occur and that such event, had it occurred, wouldn't constitute a crime.

Because it makes you sound guilty.

Which is what you don't want when you have your lawyer go talk on the TeeVee box.

Because the President, his children, and the campaign were all lying about their relationships to the Russians.

It is not possible for them to prove the negative that there were no promises, negotiations, flirtations on quid pro quo sanctions relief.

Because he lied throughout the campaign about having no business with the Russians. Putin knew otherwise, and that opens POTUS to being blackmailed for one.

Sorry. I was meaning more in principle than this example.  That wasn't clear from my post and I understand the optics and attention on this particular matter are very different than normal circumstances.

I meant this more in the Mrs. Brown Water asks how many bourbons I had last night and I say none but that it isn't an issue if I did.

Come to think of it, in my personal experience, that is in fact a losing argument.

I retract my original question.

Re the Buzzfeed article that prompted SCO to issue a public statement:

A couple of the last points made in the thread stand out to me and relate to the 'bigger than Trump' nature of what Mueller's investigation is examining:

you fucking people who think Mueller is trying to drain the swamp...

Big takeaway: "you're going to see more stories planted so all these [Dem controlled] committees can have a lot of work to do"

SCO response to Buzzfeed should be a signal to Dems to not light their hair on fire.

That Terri Turchie guy seems like the kind of person at SDNY who would be a Rudy friend-o.

no problem,  just making sure alzheimer's isnt starting up

Based on what Ive read/seen this morning, the kids were on  school trip and participating in a pro life rally. As the rally ended the group got together to take some group pics, started chanting their school fight song. Indian guy walks into them banging his drum, the kids jump around to the beat, nothing threatening on what I can see and then the atlanta braves/florida seminole chants starts. Is that mocking, sure, threatening, no and I do not hear a build the wall chant.

Now my point about the buzzfeed and now this, is that the leftist media is quick to report and post anything they view that may be demonizing to the right, regardless of if its true or not

They probably should have just stayed safe and sound behind the Great Wall of San Antonio.

Well, that, and the fact that you are correct, one video alone doesn’t tell the whole story - look at the others where these prizes of American patriotism and manhood are taunting an old, veteran, Native American in muntiple ways (chant, several different hand gestures, and yep, build the wall).

Continue to elevate these fine young men. They are everything you dream to be and more.

Who are you to say that isn’t threatening?  And there are videos of them saying build the wall.

Link to the kids chanting build the wall, this story is new to me as I first heard of last night after the rockets game, saw a few blurbs this morning and thats it
