The Robert Mueller Investigation

Now, it's Manafort's turn:

Quote

Special Counsel Bob Mueller revealed Friday that Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort lied repeatedly to the FBI and the Special Counsel's Office about his contact with administration officials, his interactions with Russian business partner with suspected ties to Russian intelligence Konstantin Kilimnik, a wire transfer to a firm working for Manafort, and information related to another Justice Department investigation, according to a sentencing report Mueller’s team filed.

Why it matters: These are the "principal" lies Manafort made that ruined his plea agreement with Mueller. The document shows how much Mueller knows about the investigation’s witnesses and their conduct, and could serve as a warning shot to other witnesses not to lie or tell partial truths — which includes the president, who has already submitted his written statement to Mueller’s team.

Paying off a porn star is going to take down a President of the United States.

No it won't.  And you know it won't.

Light treason. Really, if the GOP doesn't abandon Trump now then they've completely abandoned the rule of law and should be done as an institution. Traitors, all of them.

Doesn't matter.  They will lose zero support.  Because man, this REALLY owns the libs!

This is the correct assessment. If anything, the democrats will milk this shit all the way to 2020 and brow beat the Republicans for doing nothing.

I expect that even if the House impeaches Trump, McConnell may not even hold the trial in the Senate.

Kyle Griffin:

“To review: Mueller's office says that the president's former personal lawyer had communications during the campaign with someone who claimed to be a "trusted person" in the Russian Federation who offered the Trump campaign "political synergy" and "synergy on a government level."

This “synergy” (i.e. collusion, coordination, conspiracy) with the Russian Federstion will be shown to involve multiple layers and platforms.  This will tie back into the Trump-Parscale digital campaign, FB, Cambridge Analytica, and Trump/Alfa Bank/Spectrum Health servers, for starters.

This.  Y'all know it's true.  Shoot a man in the face on fifth avenue -- nothing matters.

Until it does.  No way McConnell, Ryan, Pence, etc all make it out alive with Mueller's intense Russia scrutiny.  Trump-enabling obstructionists' perceived self-interests may well change as additional cards are played.

You know someone on the Hill is already discussing getting Trump and Pence out of there so they can't put Ryan in the White House before Pelosi is sworn in as Speaker.

Ryan is ruble fucked too.

But just as a hypothetical, since Ryan is resigning office and done in a matter of weeks, if he took over this month, does he pass the baton to the next Speaker in January or remain grandfathered into the Oval ?

Line of succession isn’t in the Constitution - I defer to Ghost of LL post on this recently.

This probably ends up in front of SCOTUS.  I’d like to see a special election to replace the feloniously elected and illegitimately seated Trump.

I’ve kinda been screaming about this for years.  The way Trump’s campaign messaging and rally speeches synced up with the online propaganda Russia had been peddling for years was masterful.

There is no way that was a coincidence.

My theory has always been that Kushner and Manafort were the primary go betweens to pull this off.  Manafort to work the Russian side and Kushner to work the Trump side.

Fox News is giving off the impression that mueller released his findings and it vindicated the President.   For those thinking these filings will change anything.

Yep.  Then I turn it over to CNN and this is the end for Trump according to them.  Shocking.

Individual 1 is far more likely to think he could communicate privately.

You think waaay too highly of Kushner. And Manafort wasn't a made man in the Trump family. He's not dealing directly with the boss on most matters. He's dealing with a capo so the boss has plausible deniability.

Kushner was always Manafort’s conduit to Trump, going back to the campaign.
