You think waaay too highly of Kushner. And Manafort wasn't a made man in the Trump family. He's not dealing directly with the boss on most matters. He's dealing with a capo so the boss has plausible deniability.

Not only is TRump not that smart he is a micro manager and nothing happens without his okay.

Did he attend the Trump Tower meeting? No. Who did? Manafort and a pair of capos. Yeah, he knew about it and it had his okay. But he kept his distance so he could deny knowledge of it. What will tie him to it are the phone calls from Don Jr. immediately before and after.

Trump doesn't use email. He tweets but I've never heard of him texting anyone. My money's on Kushner.

Kushner is the missing link in every document and he’s in the middle of everything publicly reported.

He ran the digital operation.  He was in the Trump Tower meeting.  He was the one that got Manafort hired and Lewendowski fired. He got Christie fired from the transition team.  He pushed for Flynn to get the National Security  job.  He insisted on the Comey firing. He traveled with Trump on the campaign trail. Trump appointed him prince of everything once in office.  He got MBS installed in Saudi Arabia. He’s been tied to Chinese intelligence.

Yet Kushner isn’t named in the Dossier or any other legal document.

And then there’s all his financial issues on top of that.

In this time of Trump related Joint Defense Agreements and today's revelations about Cohen pulling a half-Manafort, claiming full cooperation while not really cooperating, resulting in a recommendation for 51+ months prison time, keep in mind Cohen's attorney was Lanny Davis.

Lanny Davis said Cohen "had a story to tell" and was 100% committed to telling the truth to prosecutors.  So much for that.  Realize also for whom Lanny Davis is currently registered as a foreign agent:

Michael Cohen, Lanny Davis and the Russian Mafia

"For the past four years, Davis — a 72-year-old former special counsel to former President Bill Clinton — has served as a registered foreign agent for Dmitry Firtash, who has been fighting to avoid extradition to Chicago, where he faces charges of international racketeering and money laundering. In registering with the Justice Department as Firtash’s foreign agent, Davis said his firm was being paid $80,000 a month — or about a million dollars a year — by a man described by prosecutors as an “upper-echelon” associate of Russian organized crime. The case against Firtash “seeks to protect this country, its commerce and its citizens from the corrupting influence and withering effects of international organized crime,” prosecutors wrote last year."

That oligarch, Dmitry Firtash, is also a business partner of Paul Manafort, and co-owner of Cambridge Analytica.

Quite the cozy circle of agents and partners.

Some day in the not too distant future Hillary's gonna be seated in a rocking chair sewing socks or something grinning & humming like the matrix Oracle lady while all these Trumpian super villians scream her name from their prison cells ..

Will that vengeance be better than being president? Maybe so.

  • 91% of Democrats, 68% of Republicans, and 75% of independents believe the entire report should be released.

  • 54% of Americans think the Mueller investigation is fair, 33% call it a "witch hunt".

  • 81% of Democrats, 51% of Republicans, and 70% of independents think the Mueller investigation should be seen through to its completion.

  • 29% of U.S. residents, compared with 33% in July, have a favorable impression of Mueller. 33% have an unfavorable view of him, similar to 30% last time. 39% have either never heard of Mueller or are unsure how to rate him.

House Judiciary member Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) was just interviewed re impeachment of Trump in light of Trump today being pinned for committing two felonies related to campaign finance.  Steve Cohen gave very measured responses and made it clear that there would be no rush to impeach, but rather to investigate further - to draw out more evidence from DoJ and Congressional investigations to the point that American people and, yes, even Republicans in the Senate reach the point where they've had enough.  The calculus involves pressure applied to Senate R's as a function of the looming 2020 elections where the potential punishment for their continued negligent complicity will be painfully clear.

I totally get it.  It's going to be absolute water torture for R's.  There will be a threshold, and it won't come after facing the aftermath of an even harsher wipeout for R's in 2020.  The House and DoJ will force Senate R's to cry for mercy.

Yep. It’s been the rope a dope strategy for a while.

I never hear or read about anyone defending the Clintons.  In general, I believe the average Dem is ok if the DOJ investigates then and prosecutes if they find illegal activity.   Is there anything stopping the DOJ from doing so?

Now I think it’s most likely a waste of time to do so, but go ahead.

The thing that jumps out at me is 42% of Americans approve of the job the president is doing and 9% are unsure.

Well, when Sessions was grilled by Rep. Jim Jordan about that, Sessions (yes, Jeff "keebler elf" Sessions) said there wasn't sufficient evidence to go after them. It's a dead end and the GOP doesn't know how to move on from that.

They are trying to make Ocassio-Cortez their Hillary 2 Electric BOOgaloo.  The GOP has to have their scary boogey(wo)man to keep pointing at lest the old, feeble and dumb start to look at who they are voting for.

He needs an all time great villain that will rally and unite the troops.

This.  Trump is just a wrestling heel.  His aura is born of interpersonal drama and rivalry.  He needs an enemy that is viewed as his equal, a counterpart for an eternal struggle.  If Trump isn’t fighting the other team’s champion, he’s not interesting and he’s not a hero (or antihero).  He’s just a loudmouth yelling at air.

It's a reality tv show presidency. Recall that he reportedly told his staff to treat his presidency as a reality show where every day he "vanquishes his rivals." He's just approaching the presidency the same way he approaches his personal business -- with fakery and bullshit.
